"If there are individuals walking barefoot or with socks, they will transmit to another person walking over the same spot," lower leg disease expert Dr. Daniel Lee said. "I do have concerns over the organisms found," Lee said. "Staphylococcus which was found on one airport floor causes skin infections that go deep through the layers and people who are sensitive can pick it up." Lee suggests wearing medical booties through security. 

 What you don't know can hurt you!  Precautions are strongly advised! The Transportation Security Administration is there to keep us safe not healthy. That has to be our own responsibility. A few airports have began to provide foot covers for passengers, but not nearly enough to be confident that you will not be caught walking barefoot on a nasty floor.
