Here is what our students and others have to say about inventRight, One Simple Idea and Stephen Key

inventRight Student Success Stories

angelicaprod"Everyone has ideas. Those ideas only become a reality when the right actions are taken. As a successful business woman, certified personal trainer, and fitness model, I had an idea on how to create a healthier fitness mixing bottle for nutritional supplements. However, I am not in the product manufacturing business and was lost for a period of time. I made a few very costly mistakes until I found InventRight. InventRight's manual put me on the right path to success. After going through the InventRight training and talking with the InventRight coaches, I had a plan. I finally knew the steps I had to take to make the FitWHISK a successful product. Within one year, I was able to secure a licensing agreement with a great corporation. I encourage you to take full advantage of the amazing resources offered by the InventRight team."

Angela Dayton, M.S., ACE-CPT
FitWHISK Creator

I had a couple of British Patents & a couple of American Patents. As well informed as I am, still I could not get my products in to the market. I did loose lots of money trying to find marketing teams. All that I got in return was, -- Nothing. My best day came when I learned about inventRight. I could not believe that they were willing to teach rookie inventors how to market their products. After getting the program guide, I went through it line by line & page by page. I got my coaching from my coach David Fedewa with reference to my inventions. He had the patience and the wisdom to guide me in the right direction. The inventRight webinars conducted by smart Andrew Krauss with the entire coaching team coordinating all the activities was so educational for me. Of course the "Guru, Mr. Stephen Keys," was always there as a rock and an anchor for us all with his smiling face & friendly talk. All that I want to say is -- Because of inventRight -- Here I Am Today. My book "TOWARDS THIN AIR" published by LifeRich Publishing an imprint of "Readers Digest" launched globally and the response is very good within the first two weeks.

We the young inventors are wandering in the dark to reach the destination. inventRight puts the light in the path we walk to reach the destination.

I started working on my first product 4 years ago and spent a year and some money trying to develop and market it.  This was the Fetch-It Slide Gaff, a sport fishing accessory for landing large fish when fishing from a pier, bridge, or cliff.  I worked with a S.C.O.R.E. consultant and soon felt that my further effort had little promise of success, so I shelved the project.
Then I recalled a product that I first made for my own use about 12 years earlier for blocking the sun that shines in around the rear view mirror.  Everyday I used the cardboard version I’d fashioned to keep the sun from blinding me on my drive home from work.  So I began looking into getting it patented and manufactured.
I have now worked on that product, the SunStop Visor, for 3 years, sought guidance from a consultant with the University of North Florida's Small Business Development Center and then help from inventRight.  The consultant from the University of North Florida was worthless, but the inventRight coach, Judy DePrang, was invaluable.  I successfully licensed SunStop Visors less than 3 months after becoming an inventRight student.
Also, I have revived the first product and I am now calling on prospective licensees.  One marketing manager I contacted is taking the product to the decision makers.

"If you have good marketable ideas, licensing is likely your best path to success. And if Licensing is your best path to success, then InventRight should be your first stop on this journey.  Licensing is simple in concept, but without experienced guidance can be a tricky, trying and sometimes treacherous process. InventRight provides the map, but Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss are experienced licensing sherpas there by your side to guide you all the way to the top."

"Thank you Stephen for guiding me through every aspect of the licensing game. Because of you I have found a licensee for my product, the Woof Washer 360. Stephen has been with me since day one, and I can tell all of you that he is a true gentleman. The only thing I can boast more about than InventRight itself, is the man behind the company. Stephen is a class act and in my opinion the expert in the field of licensing and product development. Stephen teaches you how to contact companies, who to contact at those companies, and what to say to them. He assisted me in nearly every aspect of the journey; including product ideation, improvements, patent writing, contract negotiations, and everything in between. My product has now gone 'Viral' on Facebook and looks like it is going to be a major success. I'm not so sure I would be in this position had I not met Stephen Key."

Just signed a Licensing Agreement! I couldn't have done it without Stephen Key and his wonderful team at inventRight! Stephen walked me through EVERY step, which gave me the confidence I needed to negotiate this deal. As a student of inventRight I also learned how to expand and strengthen my Intellectual Property to better protect my invention (or "innovation" as Stephen teaches) and have filed 2 more Provisional Patents myself which was very empowering.  I couldn't of done it without inventRight!

inventRight Coach Howie Busch

Stephen, thanks for the call today.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your accessibility and willingness to talk things through with me.  You always help me get to the right decision…even if it takes me some time to get there.  You guys are both incredibly generous with your time and advice and I honestly think that anyone thinking of getting into the world of licensing would be making a big mistake not joining the InventRight team.  I think anyone would be hard-pressed to find such valuable advice at such a fair price.

Thanks again and wishing you a tremendously fun and successful 2015!

We contacted Stephen and Andrew about 8 years ago when my husband, Latham, and I decided to give toy invention a try. We bought Stephen's first book and inventRight program and began to throw our ideas out there. Stephen and Andrew were fantastic then and continue to be such a great resource for aspiring inventors. Cut to present day, we have licensed about 20 items and have ongoing relationships with the major companies. Your name is a verb in our house.

Thank you Stephen!

"With deep gratitude I acknowledge the importance of the inventright program in my success. Following defined steps just made the process easy and rational. But what made all the difference was the wealth of knowledge and skills of the inventright team. I was guided by the licensing dream team. Thanks to my coach, Alix Reed, for her patience and careful attention. I felt she had my success at heart. Thanks to Stephen Key, the consummate mentor. He was the beacon light during those long negotiations; he offered the knowledge and support needed to cross the finish line. The journey to that first deal was exhilarating, stressful, exciting, and there were many times of doubt. It was a true adventure, rich of new learnings and emotions, and I already know I will remember fondly my time with inventright. Thanks inventright team for your infectious enthusiasm for licensing, you are the best investment for inventors who want to make money with their creations."

Drill Paddle

A519GtLoTtYL.jpgfter developing my product (DRILL PADDLE) a few years ago, I was kinda shooting from the hip, I went ahead and got a Provisional Application from my patent attorney ($1500) and started to venture my product. I got enough interest from selling it on EBay and Amazon after six to eight months that I figured it would justify the $10,000.00 plus another $2400.00 for what the USPTO calls the "fast track" for a Non-Provisional. I was awarded a Patent on August 19, 2014, roughly 6 months after it was filed. Now the fun begins, or work!! I have to make the product, advertise, make boxes, figure out a proper packaging, purchase supplies, hire business attorneys, take phone orders, go to trade shows, deal with customer service, essentially as they say, "wear many hats".  I also have a job, family, and a few other responsibilities. The process was getting very complicated and time consuming, I didn't mention that I had contacted about a half dozen companies that seemed mildly interested in my product but really wanted larger quantities than I could not produce. They also had various terms that, me being not very familiar with how the corporate world works, this was having me Google things that they were asking me, just so I know what they were talking about.

That's when I came across Stephen Key on a u-tube video talking about licensing. Before that, I had heard about it (licensing), but wasn't quite sure how it worked, but I knew it was something I needed to do to get my product to the masses. I think I watched a dozen video's and took several pages of notes. Now I had a little ammo to talk to the people to get my product out there a little more. After going back to his videos a few more times, and pulling up the INVENT RIGHT web-site, I figured I needed to join their process. Soon after I joined up to INVENT RIGHT, I received a call from co-founder Andrew Krauss. I told him that the program that they were offering was so reasonable that I had spent more on advertising before, and that their appointment program (to set up one on one coaching) was something I with all Doctors and Dentist had!! That very first week I was set up with a coach, Terry OMara, very knowledgeable and just a great guy! He has helped me get through some very complicated situations, some of them I had gotten myself into before INVENT RIGHT. Any question that I had he could answer, or he would find out!! In fact, if he had ANY doubts, he would talk to the founder, Stephen Key! Stephen actually called and talked to me on several occasions. I also called him, in a panic about a problem I was having with a sales rep., he picked up the phone and helped me through it!!! The whole INVENT RIGHT team has a vast amount of knowledge, this is something that you can't get at ANY cost. In closing I have to point out, that if I had started my project with INVENT RIGHT, instead of "SHOOTING FROM THE HIP" I could have very well saved me thousands of dollars and alot of time and headache. In the words of Steven Tyler (Aerosmith) "You have to learn to crawl before you learn to walk" INVENT RIGHT will have you walking tall in no time!!  Oh, I almost forgot, I JUST RECEIVED MY FIRST LICENSING DEAL!!!!!

I have always had ideas for new or improved products but I was unwilling to leave the security of my day job or spend the money I believed to be required.  As a result I never truly pursued my ideas.  Then I read Stephen’s book “One Simple Idea” which changed my outlook on inventing and licensing products.  With the aid of the Inventright team, I successfully signed an agreement with a manufacturer for an improvement to a specialty tool.  I intend to repeat this process as I work through my current list and develop more ideas.  The money spent on Stephen’s book and Inventright coaching is insignificant compared to their value.   If you want to make money on your ideas, I strongly recommend them both.

tina300 "I want to thank you so very much for all your information and encouragement.  It's hard to put into words what you have truly given me. YOU and the inventRight family have empowered me to believe in myself and that I can learn. (YOU are changing lives!!!)  Your books are a blessing.  The inventright program is the best gift I have ever given myself.  I will continue to learn every day because of your book, webinars and the personal training with you and David."
— Tina S.

"Becoming a legitimate inventor has been an amazing journey. Yes, this journey is fraught with dangerous sheer cliffs, killer inclines and breathless vistas. But through all the struggles to make the summit, taking a product to market through licensing, inventRight has been there. Sometimes the team has acted as a map or GPS. Sometimes as a sherpa carrying considerable weight when I felt like I couldn't go on. I know I couldn't have made it without my team at inventRight!"

Loadable Boombox

It was one day, about 1 year ago, when I reached a dead end, I felt like it's impossible that being creative is just about being employed at a creative agency for a weekly wage, and all those ideas flying in my head are just dreams...

I did a deep search on my iphone podcast app with keywords like "creative, money, paid, struggle" etc. I am looking for something, but I don't know what.

And I reached some podcast called "Smart Passive Income" the title of that specific podcast hit my eyes: How to get paid for your ideas... Hey! This is what I am looking for! It was a interview with a guy named Stephen Key, he spoke so simple and clear, like it's just NOTHING, it's so simple to make money from those ideas... It is NOT what you think it is...

A year forward and here is a recap what happened:

I signed up for inventRight, I was't sure if Stephen is dreaming like all creative people are but I took the gamble, I listened and read carefully all reading material and webinars necessary, (I am enjoying it, the InventRight people had developed some new language... It's just fun to listen!) I wrote a PPA, I did an explainer video on Fiverr, I pitched my idea to a list of companies, I got this 1 company interest, it wasn't easy, it took long, but with the help of my fantastic coach David, and then with Stephen jumping in with his 75 MPH speed power, it happened! I LICENSED MY IDEA!

I am finally, hopefully, going to take full advantage of my blessed creativity! I can't wait to open my mailbox with my first royalty check inside.

And this is for Andrew: let's call it a day!

"I have attended one of Stephen Key’s seminars and purchased the inventRight course that covers the “10 Steps To Invention Success” I will tell you it was the BEST MONEY SPENT. I have been designing and inventing for years, and I am always learning. Listening to Stephen was just confirming what I have been doing for years…Keep the process simple. The “10 Steps To Invention Success” is a MUST read. The process is broken down into Steps that makes it simple to follow and gives you a roadmap to Success. While I was listening to Stephen and his Process…I just kept nodding my head “YES” “YES” “YES”. I have followed these Basic Steps for years in my own Product Developing and Inventing process, but Stephen puts it into a very Easy To Follow Process. Product Developing, Inventing, Patenting, and Licensing, has been my life, and I have made $Millions …YOU CAN TOO!!!"

I knew where I wanted to go (to be an inventor) but didn't have the HOW.  Thank you, You have given me the HOW to reach my dreams. I had you both look over the contract about 3 weeks and then talked to the company we went back and forth and finally came to an agreement on everything, so I signed today!!"

I can’t say enough about how impressed I am with inventRight and their network of inventors.  A huge part of my job is working within the inventor community and the inventRight students never disappoint. unnamed-2SoapSox - Lori Greiner And Robert Herjavec of Shark Tank Offer $1 Million For SoapSox.

"As a designer and a creative person, I’ve always had great ideas.  But I never thought to even consider developing these ideas into real products myself because I have always felt it was beyond my reach.  That all changed when I met Stephen and his SpinLabel technology.  After collaborating with him on a couple of Disney projects, he opened my eyes to possibilities I never thought was within my grasp.  He as changed my trajectory and has been a huge inspiration, a supportive friend, and a great mentor ever since.  Reading his books has changed my life and perspective. You can say, his “One Simple Idea” books have been like a bible to me… especially now.  His books gave me the motivation I needed to explore beyond my boundaries.

I’ve recently developed a product called “SoapSox” that was featured on ABC’s Shark Tank Season 6.  Stephen was, in fact, our “phone a friend” lifeline as my business partner and I swam with the Sharks during our pitch.  From product development, sourcing, to structuring licensing deals, or even as a sounding board for creative ideas for SoapSox…  He has been a guiding light every single step of the way.  I can honestly say Stephen has been an instrumental “Key” to my success.

Thanks again for everything, Stephen!  You’re the best!!"

Wizor Wall Scissor

I just licensed my idea to one of the largest company in the USA!

"I wish I had been introduced to Stephen Key and his course, Inventright when I began my journey of bringing my idea to market.  I would have avoided costly mistakes such as hiring business consultants, business coaches and marketing firms to name a few.  The world of innovation is masqueraded with glamour and misleading “You can do it, too!” services, courses, books and conferences. But Stephen Key’s Inventright course is the real deal!

I have been thrilled with the support I have received from Stephen!  His years of experience, critical and strategic thinking, attention to detail, introductions to a network of attorneys and coaching calls have been nothing less than phenomenal.  With Stephen’s coaching, I am confident that my product, The Wizor® will soon be on store shelves nationwide.

I highly recommend taking his course and learning firsthand how to really take your idea from concept to reality! It’s the best investment I have made!"

From page 164
"Stephen Key is the most consistently successful inventor I've ever met, with millions in royalties from companies like Disney, Nestle, and Coca-Cola. He is not high-tech but specializes in creating simple products or improving on existing products and then licensing (renting) his ideas to large corporations. He comes up with the idea, files a provisional patent for less than $200, and then lets another company do the work while he collects checks. This site introduces his fail-proof process for doing the same. His techniques for cold calling alone are invaluable. Highly recommended"

It works!
Stephens’s system actually worked... and exactly like you said it would! From making the cold calls to the sales sheet, every aspect of the system gave me the confidence I needed to present my product in an intelligent and concise way. One of my potential licensees said that my presentation was the most organized and professional that they had ever seen in 30 years of being in business. Stephen and Andrew have been an essential on my journey of bringing my drum product to the market. I'm so grateful for their wisdom, knowledge and insight and I really appreciate the fact that I was able to personally talk with Steven and Andrew on multiple occasions for advice and guidance. Invent Right is an invaluable resource for anyone wanting to bring their ideas to the market. I loved the YouTube videos, weekly webinars and most of all the book “10 Steps To Bring Your Idea To Market” it was indispensable! I highly recommend this dynamic duo of product licensing!

"I am very happy to officially announce the completion of my licensing contract. They are planning for a holiday launch of the product, and it will be sold nationally and internationally.
This product was created when I was unable to walk for 3 months after a terrible sports injury. Being stuck in bed has limitations on what you can physically do to heal. It helped me to rehabilitate my leg by activating trigger points in my injured leg while in bed. My hope is that it helps others as much as it has helped me during my time of injury.
A sincere thank you to all at inventRight who contributed to this successful licensing deal. Being able to talk to someone who has been there and done that (licensing) is very comforting when you are in the mist of negotiations, so once again a very big thank you!"

inventRight Coach Amy Jo Brogan

I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your team for the exceptional program you all have developed. I’ve been an InventRight student since August 2014, and in that short amount of time, I feel I’ve gained a pretty strong understanding of the licensing concept you practice and the steps required to become successful in the industry.

Due to the support and resources your team offers, there is no doubt in my mind that I will become a professional product developer. I want you to know that all the hard work you and your team put into your weekly webinars, newsletters, email responses, website updates, prompt follow up phone calls, situational advice, appointments and bar none customer service does not go unnoticed. I’ve been beyond satisfied with this program and your team’s efforts are impressive, to say the least.

Never once have I felt confused, lost or abandoned within this program. Your team gives us the tools to be as successful as we choose to be and I’ve truly received as much from this opportunity as I’ve put into it. I still have a long way to go but I’m looking forward to the journey with the InventRight team.

There are not enough positive, descriptive words to illustrate InventRight’s program. I would highly recommend you and your team to my closest friends and family, without hesitation, because I know they would be in great hands.

Again, thank you for all your support!
Amy Jo

We have now had 17,000 orders placed for the Zirkel!!!  We are in the process of filling the orders. Also have another 5,000 on the horizon to contribute to breast cancer awareness, since I'm a 21 year survivor, this means a lot to me!! All but 1,000 have been ordered by the first distributor. I have also read your article on INC. about negotiating I have learned good things already. I heard someone say, "You get good answers because you've learned how to ask good questions".  Learning what those "good" questions are is the trick, but worth the discovery.

Thank you Stephen!

Flipout Screwdriver

Having spent the last 11 years doing everything the hard way, I can certainly appreciate the methods that you’re teaching.  It was definitely a learning process for me.  While the Flipout Screwdriver definitely falls outside the norm in that it required lots of expensive prototyping to get it to the proof of concept phase, I am definitely going to be using more of the inventRight concepts on my next project (this one falls into the toy category... super excited). Just wanted to commend you on the great job you’re doing for the inventor community.  Andrew and Stephen are a great team, and I’m constantly learning new things from you guys.  Keep up the great work!

Nokero Solar

inventRight Student Steve Katsaros has built an incredible company and program using the tools he learned from inventRight.

A mechanical engineer with a penchant for competitive ski racing, Steve Katsaros began his colorful career with the invention of several commercial products for the ski industry. His first brush with “impact inventing” came in 2002 with RevoPower, a motorized wheel for bicycles. In early 2010, he came up with another bright idea – a simple, portable solar light bulb with the potential to revolutionize life for the 1.4 billion people in the world who live without access to electricity. Five months after his first sketch, Steve launched Nokero, a for-profit company with a mission to provide affordable solar technology solutions for off-grid communities around the world.

"Since learning the Inventright system in 2009, I have always looked at inventing through a different lens. Licensing inventions is a great way to maximize profit for all parties. Some of my inventions are licensed out, but Nokero was a different effort because we could not find the right global licensee. I highly recommend that entrepreneurs learn the system because it greatly reduces the risk and accelerates the path from idea to profit!"

– Steve Katsaros

Inventright is a company that truly wants to see you succeed. Stephen and Andrew together are a powerhouse of expertise! The course materials, webinars and one on one coaching are first class! Much like anything you do in life you get out what you put in. If you are willing to put in the time and work hard these guys can save you time, money and heartache by helping you to understand the steps necessary to have the greatest chance for success!

Inventright has an awesome database full of companies looking for ideas. Once you have someone interested the Inventright team will help guide you through the process and keep you on track to getting your first licensing agreement. There is no exact science to getting your product licensed. However, having a team of professionals who have either placed or been a part of the placement of hundreds of products into multiple industries and market segments gives you a better chance than going it alone. Carrol Shelby said it best on his biography I caught one day. I can’t quote him directly as I do not have the source, but the message was clear and it went something like this. (The smartest thing I ever did was to surround myself with people who were much smarter than me).

Inventright gives you the tools to present your product to companies who may be interested in licensing your product. They help you navigate terms of deals and will help guide you through negotiating a deal to a contract. They make themselves available when you need them and provide a wealth of information to help you make informed decisions. If you do the work and take their guidance you are increasing your chance of success!

I can not express how much I appreciate your program. I can remember as a small child, telling myself I was going to be an inventor. No one understood how to get me there because to so many people it is just a dream. I am teaching my creative kids how to follow the steps too.

This has been an amazing, crazy year. From signing up with inventright to moving (from NC to FL for my husbands job) and having to homeschool 3 elementary level kids (because they would have missed too many days.) But it was easy to set aside a little time every week.
Thank you so much!

— Danielle G

“Thanks to Stephen, Andrew, David and the entire inventRight team I just signed my licensing contract! It’s been a truly great experience and I couldn’t have done it as good as this without you. I found that the best things about the inventRight program are that the team has a lot of experience, offers hands-on, practical feedback and most importantly are extremely confidential. They were there for me, especially when it mattered most. A special thank you to my coach David who pushed me to take it one step further, helped me focus and had practical solutions to all the problems that came up along the way. I’ve found the inventRight program to be very proven and the most direct way to licensing for those who are committed to bringing their ideas to market. Thank you, inventRight!”

Ben R.

"I joined inventRight 9 months ago with a simple idea, that has turned into a working prototype, sell sheet, product demo video, company calls, and now negotiations for a licensing deal. All this was possible with the excellent teaching and coaching that inventRight provides. The weekly webinars, one on one coaching, and the information on the members only website, have been excellent. Stephen Key and his coaches are top notch. They have a proven system that works if you put in the hard work. I feel confident that I can apply the same knowledge into the other ideas I am currently working on. InventRight has reduced my learning curve and helped me avoid mistakes that would have cost me time and money. If you are serious about bringing your idea to market with licensing, I feel that inventRight is the best education you can get"

"Thank you to the inventRight program and coaches who have helped me license my first idea! Reading Stephen's book was the foundation of learning about licensing and the inventRight program was what helped me take all the necessary steps to make it happen. Thank you David Fedewa, my coach, who mentored me at every weekly call on what the next steps would be and told me "It's not a matter of IF, its a matter of WHEN". There is honestly nothing else out there like this program."

"I just sold my idea. The licensee estimates they will order 128,000 units in the first run.  They also plan to give the product its own spinner in each of their 980 stores world wide!

The product was inspired by my daughter, Olivia (11 yrs), and I gave her all of the credit for the concept. In truth I had a conversation that got the idea going in my head and I designed it with her feedback, but they don't need to know that. I even put her name along with mine on the provisional patent.

They now see Olivia as a possible spokesperson for this product (they want to tell the story of the 11 year old designer and even use her first name in the product) and also they want more ideas from Olivia to consider. They've even invited us out to their headquarters to meet the staff and designers and review designs based on this concept.  Very cool!

Thank you so much for introducing me to this new and very exciting business and coaching me along the way!"

"You are doing a great thing for people. You are giving them a chance to define their own lives and to fulfill their dreams.  Without your help myself and so many others would be totally clueless on how to succeed with new ideas.  What you are doing is really important!"

PancakeBot was accidentally inspired by my daughter Lily Valenzuela when she was 3.5 years old.  I was reading an article in Make Magazine when she asked me what I was doing.  I told her I was reading about a man in England who made a pancake stamping machine out of LEGO.  She instantly turned to her sister Maia and said, 'Papa's going to build a pamcake machine out of LEGO!'  Maia did a little dance and thus PancakeBot was born.

After about 9 LEGO iterations, and countless gallons of pancake batter, we were able to make Mickey Mouse Pancakes.

I wanted to show the world what I had made and had a thought in the back of my mind that this could be a product some day but it all seemed out of reach at the time. So I figured, why not make my mark on the internet and put the idea out there and see what people thought.  And so I did.  One day later, the video went viral and the LEGO version of PancakeBot was a hit.

At about the same time that this started, I began taking Stephen Key's course on licensing ideas.  I was living in Norway at the time and the thought of even producing a product in Norway was daunting.  Unfortunately, things are very expensive in Norway and the tools I needed to take the idea to the next level seemed out of reach but the concept of being able to license PancakeBot always stayed in the back of my mind.

Another year passed and I decided it was time to take PancakeBot to the next level.  With the help of Jonathan Stravitz, a friend of mine from New York and an investor, I created three different acrylic prototypes of PancakeBot.  It included new technology and a new method for dispensing pancake batter.  With the help of open source products and code, I finally had a working demo that debuted at the San Mateo Maker Faire in May of 2014.

It was a hit and many people loved it.  A few quirks here and there but for the most part, it did the job and people were excited.

The neat thing about the situation was that because of my former exposure, PancakeBot became synonymous with my name and my family.

One day in June, we received an email from a gentleman named Evan Dash who owned StoreBound, a company that helped bring products to market.  I was excited and this is where Stephen's course really helped.  I was already familiar with the licensing process and felt that it was the best way to bring PancakeBot to market.  Especially because of my living in Norway.

So after some negotiations, we signed a deal with Evan and now, PancakeBot is slated to come to market early 2nd quarter.

About Stephens Course

Prior to signing up with the course, I read as much as I could about licensing ideas and writing up patent applications etc.  It all seemed so daunting and scattered.  I decided to take Stephen's course for two reasons, number 1 was to put it all together, number two was to gain access to a list of businesses that I could try to license my concepts to.

What I quickly learned was that Stephen's course was much more than that.  The stories I heard, the experiences others shared, motivated me.  It helped keep me going when things were rough.  But Stephen's course also provided information about what to look for in products, how to grow your ideas, how to expand and use the knowledge that was already out there.

With PancakeBot though, I realised I took a different approach.  I released plans to the LEGO version for free to people.  I put my name out there and created a brand around PancakeBot and my name and my family.  I did this unintentionally as I was primarily interested in letting people learn about PancakeBot and excite kids about cooking and robotics.  I wanted to build a connection between food and technology that kids could relate too.  Making it in LEGO was just a bonus (and LEGO makes a great prototyping tool).

But the greatest issue I faced was how to bring the idea to Market and share it with the world.  And after great consideration, partnering with StoreBound was the right thing to do and we`re hoping it is a success.

Thanks to Stephen's course though, I had the tools in hand to be able to make educated decisions when the opportunity arose.

If you're and idea maker, a tinkerer, an inventor, and don't know how to take your idea to the next level, Stephen's course along with Andrew's mentoring will be key in your success.  I will let you know, that you can do it without Stephen's course, but the learning curve will be tougher and longer and going at it solo can be difficult at times but the course and mentoring program will provide small keys to unlock your personal potential as you enter the world of creating, inventing and licensing.

“Whether you consider yourself a serious inventor or a garage tinkerer, there comes a time when you must decide if you’re ready to take it to the next level. Stephen Key is the guy who can get you there.  I would tell anyone wondering how to get your product on store shelves, to give Inventright a call today. The program is simple, supportive, and brilliant! It’s amazing to have a team of seasoned professionals in your corner guiding you through the entire process. Stephen, Andrew, and the rest of the team get the job done right! Thank you for doing a great job and helping people achieve what they might consider unachievable.”

"I started the Inventright course last October as I have always had loads of ideas, but never managed to successfully license any of them. The Inventright books, DVDs and webinars were great for learning all the steps you need to take in order to have the best chance of licensing your idea. The best thing about the course though, is having someone on the other end of the phone or Skype to talk to. Unlike other courses Stephen and Andrew answer the phones themselves, and have been great at steering me in the right direction when I got stuck, they also have a fantastic enthusiasm which helps to motivate you. After signing my first licensing agreement, I now see that it is really possible to license more of my ideas and that's all thanks to Stephen and Andrew."

Dream to Destiny

Stephen Key, co-founder of inventRight came highly recommended to me from several credible sources.  I hired Stephen as my mentor and a few months later he encouraged me to apply for the Hit Reality TV Show Wife Swap because they were looking for mom inventors. Our episode features our 2 patent pending products and will be on an aggressive re-run schedule in multiple countries for the next 3 years.  What incredible publicity, thanks to Stephen. Additionally, Stephen referred The LA Times to me for an interview about our 2 products which they voted in the top 3 out of 9 innovations created in the 2009 recession.  A BIG “Thank you” to Stephen!
Stephen is a terrific example of someone who pursued and achieved his dream of being a successful inventor. He’s been using his gift of innovation to create many new products over the past 20+ years as his full time job.  With millions in royalties from his many inventions he’s able to live the life of his dreams being able to spend quality and quantity time with family and friends, loving his work and helping many other inventors achieve their dreams.

"Well the deal is done.. I just signed my 1st licensing contract!! Your Idea of a yearly sale quota worked and I also got a “to market” date. I’ve been working with them on the factory sample.  It is very close. I was impressed. It’s so cool to see one’s product actually made! They are shooting to have the samples by the Housewares’ Show in March. It’s tight.. but hopeful. They also starting to working on the packaging.. can’t wait to see it. So on to the next. I want to thank you for all your support and leadership on my 1st product. I still have to pinch myself. I never would of thought I could do this, especially in 6 months. I can’t believe how much I have learned in such a short time!! The InventRight system really works and I love the whole process!!"

Perfectore Posture

"In 2011 shortly after we received the design patent on our product "The Posture Transformer" we were at a crossroads as to what direction to take. We began to do research on licensing which lead us to Stephen's book, "One Simple Idea".  We were so inspired by the valuable content that we quickly signed up as students. The information and guidance that we have received from InventRight has been the most valuable in helping us establish our business strategy. Perfectore Corp. is a design house, we venture as well as license our products. By following the Invent Right strategy we have accomplished more than I can share with you now, but I feel the most vital tool has been that of introducing and pitching ideas to absolute strangers.  This takes guts, but if you follow the Invent Right method you achieve goals effortlessly. Its about sticking to the that works!!  The best investment we have made to date is becoming students of the Invent Right system.  Thanks guys, we are well on our way to unlimited success."

"curtainDon't take this course if you're looking for a quick, easy and magic solution to making money. Licensing your ideas is hard work. Fun, challenging, rewarding and potentially lucrative, but hard work. inventRight shows you how to most effectively leverage that effort to get the best shot at the goal and to avoid expensive and time-consuming mistakes.

Stephen Key is the real deal. It's always best to learn from someone who's done it before, but Stephen brings that learning to a whole different level, by guiding his students every step along the way. He gives inventors and independent designers like myself the skill set and confidence required to get in the door with these big companies, and land a great licensing deal. Bark & Bat

"I have been inventing products for some time. Prior to being introduced to the Invent Right system, I would use Licensing Agents to place my products. Their take was sometimes 50%. Using agents was only marginally successful and the time spent vs. the income gained was dismal. I researched many books, trade journals, internet sites etc; none provided a complete A to Z guide for licensing a product. Then I found Invent Right. I purchased the Invent Right system a little over a year ago. Using your system I now have two more products going to market in 2008, "Pool Rockets" & the "BarknBat". I currently have various new products being reviewed by 26 different companies. Now, it is not a matter of if,...its only a when."

Thank you.

"If necessity is the mother of invention, Stephen and Andrew are its midwives. Before discovering inventRight, I was winging it, using a haphazard process of my own that could generously be called "invent wrong". The inventing process can sometimes be like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Andrew and Stephen smooth out the bumps for you and let you know what's likely coming over that next hill. I've been bitten by the inventing bug and inventRight has shown me how to harness my inventing superpowers for good. Why wouldn't you sign up for inventRight?

Whether you need gentle guidance or full-on hand-holding, Andrew and Stephen are there for you every step of the way. If not now, when? Where else can you take advantage of professionals who have "been there, done that" and are willing and able to show you the exact steps to get to that same spot?

I signed up for the inventRight course two years ago. Through diligent application of the steps I learned and by leveraging the exceptional one-on-one support of both Stephen and Andrew, I have now successfully licensed two ideas and have several more in the pipeline. I'm STOKED!

Using the steps I learned from the inventRight course has been the most exciting, challenging and rewarding experience of my life. I can now call myself officially a professional inventor. inventRight helped me to reinvent my career path into something I'm passionate about: making my new product ideas come to life. Whether you're a rocket surgeon (smarter than a rocket scientist and a brain surgeon put together) or a regular person, like me, you CAN do this.

Does inventRight guarantee that all of your ideas will be licensed? Of course not. But, if you're willing to put in the effort and learn from Stephen and Andrew's phenomenal course and one-on-one coaching, you'll be much more likely to find a home for your ideas than if you are just "winging it"."

The Award Winning Qube

Okay…it looks like a simple wooden box. But looks can be deceiving.

The LP Qube is actually a very high-tech approach to shaker design. A unique internal-baffle design produces a multitude of shaker effects…all depending on what direction the “box” is moved in. Forward-and-back creates one sound; side-to-side creates another. Spin your wrist to shake it in a circular pattern and you get a double-timed version of both. The rhythmic potential is virtually limitless.

"If it were not for Stephen's gracious availability and encouragement we would still be dreamin' and not doin'. He has helped us successfully navigate through our first worldwide licensing deal with a major manufacturer in our market.  It's only the beginning for us."

To anyone who is looking at InventRight as a help and resource in developing a product or in learning the process, I would say get involved with these guys.  I have been an Inventright student since July 2011. Stephen and Andrew are the real deal.  I was a little skeptical at first and the first time that I really needed something I called and got a voicemail so I hung up and went about what I was doing.  Shortly thereafter I got a return call from Stephen saying that he missed my called and asked what he could help me with.  I was pleasantly surprised.  Since then I have found that is the norm at Inventright.  They are there to help and they do!  It doesn’t matter how small or dumb your question seems they are always very willing to give their advice and help you through the hurdles that are present in this business. I love the resources they provide as well as the weekly webinars. I really appreciate the relationship that I feel with them. Without Stephen, Andrew, and Inventright I could not have brought my idea to life and have it on the market.

Thank you Stephen and Andrew you guys are awesome!

"In a world of great product ideas and a crowd of voices and opinions of how to get your ideas to market, getting solid answers, insights and honest help can be hard to come by. There's no lack of frustration in deciding what and who to believe. Their infinite passion for products and the people who bring them to life shines through in everything they do, from the programs, to the publications, right down to the personal conversations, which they do often and openly. "One of the best things about you guys is that you clearly want to help. While navigating the often treacherous path from concept to market I found so much misinformation and so many cautionary tales about scams and pitfalls and everywhere I turned, I found plenty of those who wanted money or equity just to give out the simplest information or crack open their Rolodex for me.

Initially, I came to your site while web surfing to check out your resources page and I was surprised and happy to see that you didn’t try to hold back- there was much useful information and contact info and great articles. Although you did promote yourselves and your services on your site, I respected that you didn’t leave the impression that I had to spend money before learning what I first came for. This told me that you guys are passionate about what you do for its own sake.

Next, I listened to the stories of other successful inventors and that of course was very motivating and inspiring.

I had the chance to talk twice with Stephen and once with Andrew over the next year and again, you guys were completely forthcoming, encouraging and respectful of me as a ‘real’ inventor even though I hadn’t made a dime yet- and hadn’t yet paid you anything.

Another great thing about you both is the tone you set: It was very reassuring and important to me to hear you say over and over the message that this process doesn’t have to be complicated, costly or mystifying… it IS possible to license an idea without breaking the bank- there are steps one can take and shortcuts and moreover; the licensees put their pants on just like we do and that they need us just as much, (maybe more) than we need them. That gave me the confidence to start thinking of myself as the real deal and speaking of my product in commercial terms without feeling as if I was at a disadvantage.

You paid it forward and that made me want to pay you back.

After I joined, it was also terrific to get your input on the contract. I was overwhelmed and intimidated at first and again you were generous with your time and helped me quickly separate the forest from the trees. One comment in particular about the contract that sticks in my mind is when I was questioning the minimum $20K in sales required to renew the agreement. I said that number seemed too low and you said I shouldn’t sweat the small stuff because ‘when it comes to DRTV, it’s like being a little bit pregnant; either you are or you aren’t’!

Stephen, Andrew, thanks for holding my hand, getting on the phone and negotiating for me, keeping my faith and giving me the knowledge to succeed. Keep up the good work!"

"In writing this testimonial I realized just how true it is and happy I am with inventRight. The only problem is, it still sounds too good to be true!

Since I was little, I dreamed of becoming an inventor. After many years and many thousands of dollars doing it the wrong way I discovered Stephen Key and his inventRight course. At first it seemed too good to be true, but during our initial phone conversation Stephen gave me irrefutably sound advice. I decided to purchase the course and I’m so glad that I did. Within two months of purchasing the inventRight program I signed my first licensing agreement on an invention that I’ve struggled with for years. True to his word, Stephen was there every step of the way, even when I was about to settle for an unacceptable deal. Stephen guided me to be in control, to seek the right deal for my invention, and to realize my dream of becoming a successful inventor."

photobox "Inspiration transformed into action! This is the result inventRight delivered for my product ideas. This amazing company helped transform my dreams and product concepts into a viable business. In less than a year, after taking the inventRight course, I have productized and Trade marked over 25 items. I am now talking with Target, QVC, Walgreen’s and contacting Victoria Secret & Mary Kay Cosmetics to distribute my merchandise. InventRight provided me with both the knowledge and confidence to approach these large corporate distribution channels. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to call these companies. Knowing the right answers to their questions was key, and inventRight had me completely prepared.

I would like to thank Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss for their excellent advice and counsel. They always made themselves available for questions, and their timely response to emails was extraordinary. InventRight’s “tele-seminars” broadened my knowledge and continued to drive me toward success. Working with Stephen and Andrew, I felt cared for, motivated, and most of all, educated. I enthusiastically recommend inventRight to help anyone convert their dream idea into reality. Victory!"

One Students Journey

I’ve been an inventRight member for almost a year, and I’ve participated in all but about eight webinars since last February. I became a member because I found a YouTube video of one of your seminars, interviews or something, and then found your book "One Simple Idea". Reading that book and being an inventRight student has changed my life.

For years, I have had idea, after idea, after idea, but became frustrated with the hurdles and barriers of entry to venture those ideas.  I did not understand the licensing model until I found and followed your strategy. If for no other reason, your ten-step plan, when followed, forces a disciplined approach not just to licensing, but to any endeavor.

Further, knowing that you and other inventors and product designers face the same hurdles, emotions, successes, failures, highs, lows, false starts, rejections, bursts of creativity, lulls in creativity, and the whole spectrum of experiences unique to those who create and endeavor to create, just lets me know that I am not alone in my pursuit. As I said in the last webinar, it doesn’t matter whether it is “strength in numbers” or “misery loves company,” it is comforting to know fellow travelers accompany me on my journey, whether or not I meet them face to face.

Holding Thursday nights has allowed me to build discipline in other areas, and, thanks to you and Andrew, my labor is starting to bear fruit. Let me explain:

Since becoming a student of inventRight, I have:
1.    Received a “Notice of Allowance” from the USPTO for one of my designs.
2.    Prototyped multiple versions of one of my products.
3.    Created a sell sheet template for all future designs.
4.    Started a relationship with a manufacturer who is interested in my designs
5.    Auditioned for Shark Tank and made it to the third round.
6.    Finished one novel.
7.    Started and have almost finished a second novel.
8.    Submitted two more PPAs.
9.    Designed five mobile apps and used eLance to find a developer.
10.    Became a vegetarian (again) and lost ten pounds.

Now, this is not to say inventRight was the cause of the hit list above, but the entrepreneurial energy; astounding honesty about fear . . . real fear . . .of putting your “stuff” out there for others to accept, reject, ridicule or dismiss; and downright “one step at a time” mentality of attacking any endeavor that you embrace, live and encourage inspires me and keeps me going each day.

Like everyone else who is an entrepreneur, I have many balls in the air. I am a professor of history and philosophy; I trade futures and options (I worked in finance in NYC for years before earning my PhD); I am a writer and aspiring published author; I invent; and I am just starting to develop apps. Before becoming involved with inventRight, I always dreamed of writing novels, inventing great things, being a patent holder, selling an app, losing that last ten pounds, and humbling myself enough to finally ask for help. Thanks for the help. We can do nothing alone.

Have a great week! And I’ll see you on Thursday night!

What Our Students Say...

Thank you very much for taking the time to speak with me on Friday. I can't tell you how much it means that someone with your degree of success cares so much about the well-being of others; it seems quite rare these days. More than the invaluable advice gleaned from your experience, it is your sincerity and depth of heart which inspires and invigorates me.

— Blaine F.

Thank you very much for this wonderful day. (I know you heard this so many times today)
Your story is the most inspiring story I have ever heard thank you for sharing with us.

I appreciate what you do and all the time and effort you put in this.

P.S thank you for making me feel special today. You are changing people's life. Thank you for being a difference maker!

I am very proud to be on your team!

sathishsmI am in a village in India and playing the biggest game in the world. InventRight is sure making a difference. It still feels surreal to me.

- Sathish M

Thank you so much, Stephen! Ryan's recent webinar was so helpful - I am so happy and honored to be a part of Invent Right and can't say enough great things about you and your team. You're all SO KIND and TRULY helpful. I've got my 1st product video done and all these "firsts" aren't nearly as scary with the help, encouragement, and guidance from Amy Jo and all the resources you share. I'm determined to be seeking you to help with a contract one day! Thanks again for being so kind, helpful, and generous with your time!

— Diane W.

Thank you for your time on our Skype call last week.  Really appreciated the welcome call, and the insights you were able to share. Very impressed with the inventRight organization, and confident I will find licensing success with your help and my coach's.

All the best!

Chris B

I am very grateful to you, Andrew and the Inventright coaches for helping us hard-headed inventors :)  to improve ourselves and get our ideas to market.

Gratefully yours,

"I am very grateful for Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss' Inventright coaching system for steering me in the right direction on inventions and licensing. Firstly, for saving me a ton of money that I would have spent on a useless patent; and secondly for helping me learn the business process of inventing to win via licensing.  This is my second year and although I have not licensed my first product yet, I have faith that what I have learned about myself during this process will help me license a successful product in the following year.  Why did it take me so long?  I personally have never worked with designers or employees before so being stubborn about my own communication challenges (due to my coach showing me a different perspective) really helped.  I have now overcome this and have established relationships with 2 designers which can help me going forward.  Another challenge was, I was working fulltime.  But I can definitely recommend the coaching program to anyone who is serious about their testing their ideas without spending a fortune (like on a patent - thanks Andrew for discouraging me on this).  Thanks Stephen and Andrew! -Inventright Student since 2015"

Wai (Jonathan) C

I am looking at myself as I am writing this and wondering where I will be if I haven’t joined the inventRight coaching program. I can tell you it’s scary, very scary!! Without the right insight, support and constant guidance I would have been lost. I would have wasted all my time and money trying to turn my idea into a possibly successful product. And since my first idea was a failure I wouldn’t have been able to jump to the next idea with big enthusiasm.

The right execution is what every inventor needs and the inventRight team are the experts guiding you step by step in your licensing journey. I want to leave you with two quotes.

“To me, ideas are worth nothing unless executed. They are just a multiplier. Execution is worth millions.”
Steve Jobs

“There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know. “ Donald Rumsfeld

To anyone considering licensing their product or idea, joining the inventRight coaching program will be by far the best step getting from an idea to a product on the market.

A few years ago, when I was hosting a segment on the streaming television network The Lip, I had the pleasure of meeting Stephen M Key.

Stephen is a prolific inventor, the author of several best selling books and an all around remarkable human. Tim Ferriss credits Stephen with helping him lay the foundation for “The Four Hour Workweek.” Now, I’m lucky enough to call Stephen a friend and a mentor.

Now, there are a ton of articles online about how you’re supposed to give value in order to build a friendship with remarkable people — and this will always be true.

But there’s a way to supercharge this process: fearless generosity.

Friendships revolve around mutually fearless generosity. I mean, think about it. At the end of the day, friends are people who we select to bring into our lives because we enjoy hearing from them / spending time with them…and because they offer something unique that we just can’t find anywhere else. The more generous others are to us with their unique gifts and talents, the more we like them and want to reciprocate. It’s a virtuous cycle.

After I interviewed Stephen for my show on The Lip, I wouldn’t have been offended at all if he’d casually neglected to return my emails afterwards. This is kinda just the way it is online. After all, I got an interview for my show, he got some exposure. It was a mutual win, but it didn’t mean that we were now “besties.”

But a few days later, I got an email from him:

“Hey Daniel, I really loved our interview. Would you like to write for Entrepreneur Magazine? My editor is looking for new contributors and I think you’d be a great fit.”

I was floored. Not because I didn’t think that I was “worthy” of writing for Entrepreneur — but mostly because I’d expected most important people to hoard their influential connections and contacts from people they’d just met. Connections to editors at big publications are highly coveted, too.

There’s this faulty idea that if we help a new friend make a connection with somebody influential in our network, we are somehow responsible for everything that happens after that between them.

“What if they don’t get along and I look bad?”

“What if one of them is annoyed by my initiative to connect them?”

“What if it backfires and the influencer no longer wants to work with me as a result?”

But Stephen didn’t worry about that. He generously introduced me to his editor at Entrepreneur (also named Stephen) and within a few weeks, I was writing for the magazine.

New exposure. New heights. Instantly. Because of one person’s generosity and fearlessness in helping me. The act was altruistic, for sure.

But he wasn’t done.

I started writing for Entrepreneur and things started going well. I got a call from Stephen:

“Hey Daniel, have you ever thought about writing a book? I could introduce you to my literary agent.”

Shocked. Completely floored. Again.

Literary agents are typically seen as the first impossible obstacle in the nearly indecipherable maze of traditional publishing — and just getting an agent is a process that frustrates 90% of people into quitting before they ever make progress.

But with one email exchange, Stephen helped me clear that hurdle. Instantly.

Are you beginning to see a pattern here?

My first meeting with the agent did not result in a deal. In fact, it took over 18 months for me to build up my brand enough for her to take me on — but that initial connection wouldn’t have been possible without Stephen.

(Side note: Kirsten is the absolute best. A complete rockstar. After we eventually signed a great deal with Penguin about 2 years later, she confessed to me that she gets so many proposals coming her way that the only way she’s able to make good decisions about who to take seriously is via introduction from a trusted friend or current client. It’s a bit of a closed circle!)

Now, what was Stephen getting out of all this help? Why bother being so generous? It just seems like more work on his end…and it’s not really necessary. He’s already “set” — and he doesn’t need any favors from me. So why bother going out of his way to help me?

A few reasons, I think:

1.) He genuinely likes helping people. That’s part of his life’s mission — so introducing people to each other is in line with his broader goal of helping as many people as he can.

2.) And this is the big one — he understands what I’m going to call “Entrepreneurial Chi.”

Entrepreneurial Chi is the secret force that multiplies your generosity ten-fold to your benefit. The concept is simple: plant a seed, reap a forest.

Stephen invested a small amount of time into me. A few hours at most between the initial interview and some phone calls/emails. That was the initial “seed.” As a result, our relationship blossomed. I started to pick up steam on my own and guess who was at the top of my “People To Help Out When I Make It” list?

Yep, you got it.

Over the next year, I got featured in TIME Magazine as a direct result of my work at Entrepreneur. I introduced Stephen to the editors there.

I spent some time helping him with his social media strategy, which was an area I’d begun to succeed at.

I provided a glowing testimonial for his work, which is featured on his website — and I recommended his book, “One Simple Idea,” to countless friends. I even bought a copy for my dad.

My dad has always been an inventor at heart, so I knew he’d love the book. But the results of simply giving him a copy wildly exceeded even what I imagined was possible.

Now my parents and I have started a new business together with several products in development — and they even purchased Stephen’s $2,500 coaching program, which is PHENOMENAL, by the way.

Stephen has new business and a new success story in the making — and I get the opportunity to connect with my parents and build something great that will provide for us for years to come.

This is how the seed has turned into a forest.

Literally everybody wins. All because of fearless generosity with his connections and time.

He didn’t need to reach out. He didn’t need to make introductions. But he helped me grow — and as I grew, it was only natural to give back to him.

This is the power of generosity. This is Entrepreneurial Chi.

The take home message: Don’t be stingy with your connections. It doesn’t make sense. You’re not helping anybody by playing “close to the chest” all the time.

Tour ideas that people will be annoyed by introductions/connections are false — and they are probably one of the reasons why you’re not getting what you want faster.

Be fearlessly generous and watch it come back to you.

Note: if you're interested, here's my initial interview with Stephen:

Your extra helping of coachy love really made my day, Alix, and has me even more excited to manifest the dream!!

— MJ

Personally, I've invented many things, and over the years have learned that as an inventor with several ideas that licensing is typically a better way to go than trying to commercialize or venture it myself. I highly recommend checking out InventRight. I'm a student and I've found their courses and coaches extremely helpful. It's around $2500 for a year, but they let you pay it over time. The comraderie and having a coach is well worth the cost. I've not licensed anything yet (been a few months) but do have very interested companies for two of my current concepts.

— Dave

Everything you mentioned came up in the conversation and you made my pitch spot on professional and I am greatly appreciative.

— Mike M.

You know, since I've joined InventRight, I feel like I'm in a Star Wars mood... I finally switched from the Dark to the Light side of the Force... I'm in power more and more everyday as "Anakin Skywalker"...  thanks to Terry the great "Obi Wan Kenobi"... also to Andrew as "Qui Gon Jinn"... and we all know who Stephen is...

"May the Force be with you all !"

Have a nice weekend and thank you so much !

“Thanks, Amy Jo, for your positive and encouraging words. My experience with everyone at inventRight has definitely been a great one. Its a great environment to experience. I would recommend the inventRight process to anyone.

In fact, my friend that I've known for 34 years came over to the house recently, and I was showing him all the stuff (papers, forms etc) that I had on my first idea and I think he was impressed. He's always talking about his friend who's got over 100 ideas and they're good ideas.

Well, I, too, have over 100 ideas now and I know how to process them! He even said, "Hes got a bunch of ideas, but he doesn't ever do anything with them."

Its this kind of talk that inspires me. I want to be the guy that's successful and has product on store shelves and has a brand new truck and bass boat with all the bells and whistles!!  Whooo Hooo!!!! Go inventRight!!!! Its game ON, people!!!”

“Amy Jo- Love working with you and Inventright...just like you teach about getting into medium sized companies...Inventright is not a "Goliath" which is a great thing.
It's the "just right bowl of porridge" and think tank for this Goldilocks!!”

"I'm Amy's student at InventRight and let me tell you she's wonderful and extremely helpful. Highly recommend her. It's like having a partner (a beautiful one too) standing with you while you go through the process of licensing.”

It was an honor to receive a call back from you last Friday evening and a pleasure to chat a bit.

As I said, I had started on the path to product development and licensing but did not have a clear understanding about how to accomplish it. Thank heavens for Google and YouTube. After watching a few of your videos on the internet it was as if I had found the “KEY” that unlocked the mystery. Soon afterwards I bought “One Simple Idea” and read it multiple times, underlining and highlighting as I went.  Andrew Krauss, at one point, gave me some tips on my sell sheet. Invent Right was offering some free promotional consultation so I employed Andrew’s tips to improve my presentation and his encouragement helped me keep going.
The process of licensing this first product has still been long and tough, but rewarding. Last week my licensee took the product to a trade show and began to get commitments from its customers with “more to come”. It is too soon to know how the product will do in the market, but regardless I know how to move forward with the next idea.

Again my sincerest thanks,
Keith L

"I honestly couldn't have won without the knowledge that InventRight has taught me over the years. Thank you so much!!"

Ryan A.

I'm writing to let you know the exciting news that I signed my first licensing deal! My partner company is currently sourcing the supply chain and plans to begin shipping product in the fourth quarter of this year!

I can't tell you enough how grateful I am for all of your coaching and mentoring in the Inventright program. Stephen's book and approach coupled with your hands-on guidance and expertise set me up for success! You not only helped me with the finer points of my plan and strategy to pitch and ultimately license my concept, but you were there to keep me going when things were not looking so bright too. Your encouragement to keep working the process and steps and don't take no for an answer made me believe that I could land a deal!

Thank you againfor everything and I look forward to sharing my next deal down the road!

Inventright helps me stay focus with my product and I thank the coaches for standing there to help me. They are always there to help confront your fear while I'm out there pitching my product. I suggest for anyone who comes out with a product, the inventright coaches are always the best to guide you every step of the way!

You may remember that I received interest from a couple companies a year ago (when we last spoke) on a product creation that I call Cornbeanies. Well those "maybe's" turned into a no, but what I have learned from the "no's" was invaluable. Soon after, I placed the idea on a shelf until a few weeks ago. I realize more than ever through your program that, outside of our ideas, the life blood of our business is the presentation of our ideas.

I have resurrected this idea with a much better presentation with a PDF and video sell sheet. I limited myself in the past by focusing too much on ASOTV, but they are not the only game in town! I have embraced the fact that we get more "no's" than "yes's", but I choose to "chew the meat" and "spit out the bones". The no's are so fruitful and have so much meat in them especially when you find out the "why" behind the "no".

Just wanted to say thank you a million times for all that You and Andrew do. I love you two and your passion and commitment to making your students better, and sharing your wealth of knowledge. David is an outstanding Coach and he gave me the two "thumbs up" on the attached sell sheets. Tell me what you think. I have already begun making calls (as of yesterday). Wish me luck!!!! Keep up the great work guys! This program should be taught in Colleges and Universities across the country.

I'm getting a lot of "no's" on my current product pitch.   Fortunately, I still have a plethora of companies to contact. I absolutely can  do this!  I'm still a little shaky on my cold calls but I can tell I've improved a lot.......and more importantly, I'm making the calls.   Instead of being afraid to call, I'm feeling frustrated when I don't get through to my contact person.  (That's progress!)

Andrew, you should know that your Inventright process is working.  I didn't take the first no I got.   (After David said no, I told him I would pitch this to you.......)

Invent Right has helped me tremendously, My coach Terry has done a great job, even though I haven't seal the deal yet. I would have never got this close without the help of Terry and the invent right crew. You may be learning valuable things here in their youtube channel, but if you become a student you get the real deal. Is great to have a knowledgeable team that can guide you trough. Thanx so much, stay creative!!

Over the last 4 months I have been living and breathing the development of this product as my gentle and long-suffering wife can attest.  I am well aware that your time is valuable and it is not possible to give individual attention as freely as you would like.

You have given my product its best possible chance and finding its way into the market.

I want to say how grateful I am for this program Invent Right!! Thank you Mr. Stephen & Mr. Andrew because in this I have found the other side of who I am. I am grateful for God leading me to you and your team. Whether I get a product on the market now or not, I honestly walk each day with more confidence in who I am because I have found a hidden outlet and the truth of inventing! Just to have ready hands on development and training in the product and development process is sooo worth the investment! Coach Judy has been absolutely a great support system to me and I am UBER grateful for the opportunity to be her student. She is teaching me the fundamentals to inventing and I absolutely Looove it! So I'm actually ready to set my next appointment, so I'll be back! Ha! Sike! Thank you and thank you again for this movement, I hope to be a part of this team someday!

Best Regards,

Hello Stephen.  I think that $2500 is a really good price to learn a trade.  I'm glad I have this opportunity to learn.
Like the old adage says.  You can give a man a fish or you can teach him how to catch his own.  Thanks Stephen, am buckling up for the ride.

Look what others are saying about Stephen, his books and the program.

Thank you for your great books and great job done to help millions inventors from different countries to get words of wisdom, encouragement and professional expertise! I know that many professionals from non-english speaking countries are waiting for your books published in other languages!

— Alibek T.

If you have been wondering how to get one of your ideas in the marketplace are in the hands of a manufacturing you need to check out Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss.
I have been watching Mr. Stephen Key's videos and I have learned so much from him and his partner Andrew Krauss. I have my product right now in the hands of a manufacturing company. But I wish I knew how to read I would be able to learn so much more from his book, but my dyslexia gets in the way and I feel like I am missing so much more of his knowledge that he is sharing with others. I wish I would have known these two guys years ago. They have helped me more than they would ever know. If I am able to do this anyone should be able to do it.
And all I did is what his video said to do,  to send them a sales letter.  The company got back in touch with me. They wanted me to sign a disclosure with their company. They also said  if they accept my new product, they will get back in touch with me. What more could I have asked for, all I have to do now is wait to see if they like my new product. So if you come up with a new idea, get in touch with these two guys. They know how to help you. God Bless.

— Albert

Thanks, I have watched many of the Invent Right videos on YouTube. Before you guys I didn't even know what a sale sheet was. I am working on the 1 min video now. I would have saved about $40,000 and a lot of heart ache if I would have heard of you guys a year ago. This process has been a real nightmare and after almost going bankrupt I was wishing I never had this idea. After finding you guys on YouTube my hope has been restored. Thank you for the tools you have made available. I hope to become a student soon and learn even more about licensing. You and your team are really in the business of turning inventors nightmares into a dream come true.

— YouTube Viewer

Hi Stephen, it's been a while since I've checked in with you but I wanted you to know that I have found your book to be very inspirational and informative. I took a lot of your advice and it has helped me in my current project. I have reached a point where I no longer work for anyone and am just starting to apply my full 100% to developing an idea. I know in your book you talked about the custom guitar picks you created and how it sucked up all of your time but I think I am in one of those projects. I have a rough prototype and planning to file for a provisional patent soon. Things are moving and I'm very excited to finally be working for myself. We'll see how long that last...

— Matthew W.

"Andrew, I have so much to thank you and Stephen for giving me the drive and encouragement that I needed to start calling companies, which is absolutely working. I haven't licensed my first idea yet, but I am on my way there. Sometimes I lose the momentum and get discouraged, so when I feel down I tend to watch your videos and get completely motivated again. I also got a little worked up when you were talking about parents that are inventors but never really did anything, like my dad. I bought him for his birthday One Simple Idea, and he is now as excited as I am, and that is so refreshing. Again, thank you so much. You and Stephen changed my life for the best." —
— Guillermo M

I wanted to thank you for the great tips I've gotten on your Invent Right YouTube channel and reading One Simple Idea. With a working prototype and sell sheet, I'm now confident in how to proceed forward. I'd love to connect with you, as your work has been a tremendous resource for me. Thank you.

— Lisa L

I just wanted to thank Stephen and inventRight for all of the good information that I have received through Stephen’s books and videos. I’ve never been a student of inventRight but I have followed the principles I learned in videos and the books. This week I licensed my first idea. It’s a fishing idea. The licensee took it to a major trade show this week and have commitments from a couple large sporting goods stores and big box stores. Thank you for the information, it has been very helpful as I have been on this journey.

– Keith L.

Stephen, I'm a big fan! You have an impactful personality, and I thoroughly enjoy learning from you. I sincerely appreciate you writing One Simple Idea and making the InventRight TV videos with Andrew. I consider your life as a gift to mine. I'm middle aged (46), but I am new to the world of developing my own IP. I have developed ideas (IP) for a number of businesses, but never for myself individually. I'm one of those 100+ ideas guy, so right now I am focusing on my best and easiest products to manufacture. Your insight has saved me a lot of money that I otherwise would have wasted while racing forward with patents. You are mentoring far more entrepreneurs than you could ever realize, so please be strengthened by knowing another one exists (out there in the audience - so to speak) that you are influencing in such a profound life-changing way. I hope you reach more and more people in the future. I genuinely appreciate you doing the work that has reached out and touched my life. I know many others in your position would simply sit back and relax on their financial success. Thanks again for your hard work, Stephen. God bless you my friend.

– Philip

The best decision I made. Truly enlightening to hear your wisdom first hand. Joyous and Inspirational. Devouring the book! I have such fun doing what I love to do and now I know how to do it so much better. Thank you Stephen

I must say that "One Simple Idea" has helped me all the way thru the process of getting my own idea out there. I have already gone thru one patent with no success. With "One Simple Idea" I got all the information I needed to go step by step to move forward. I saved so much money and many mistakes just by reading Stephen Key's book. On November 12, 2015, I signed my first Licensing Agreement with a large Manufacturer that produces Yard and Garden material. In fact they are test marketing my idea in the large Big Box stores as I'm writing this review. So if you have an idea and have no clue of what to do, then your best bet is to get "One Simple Idea". It's affordable and very easy to understand. Stephen wrote it to have anyone who doesn't want to go through the humble-jumble of trying to figure out what he or she is reading about. Just EZ to Read. Shoot...for less than a HOT Pepperoni Pizza, you can get going by getting yourself this book and who yourself the whole Pizza shop!

Keep on Dreaming...You won't regret it!

Stephen Key changed my prospective on business. Stephen opened my eyes to licensing and I am perfect for this way of business. I have alot of ideas and would not be good at running a business because I get bored easily and want to move on to something new. This is a weakness I am embracing with licensing. This book is great as well as the free inventRight YouTube videos which are gold! I licensed my first idea to a pet company within 1 year of reading this book. Now I'm working on my second deal with the same company. Stephen is very real and cares about people being successful! Thanks Mr. Key you changed my life!

Hello Stephen!! It's been almost 2 years now since the last time I contacted you. All your help with the sell sheet actually got me a meeting with the commercial director of a really big company in Latin America. I truly apologize for not doing this earlier, but I want to thank you deeply. Without your help nothing of what I have accomplished would have been possible.

— Fernando P.

For anyone looking to license your invention/product, you must read Stephen M Key One Simple Idea. It is an educational, empowering, and insightful read. After reading his book, I now have two new companies interested in taking on Baby Soothe!

— Lauren P.

Thanks so much for your caring and valuable advice. You have put within your book so much of the blue print towards the path of licensing ideas not to mention the many fascinating and touching elements of human quality. I definitely owe you a 5 star review for your book. Thanks again for your time, your kindness, your encouragement, and all the practical advice that you gave me. Your new video background showing your product ideas created throughout the many years, and stacked on a shelf looked awesome! :-) Glad you took the time and organized them for display. I feel it is helpful for people to see them on an ongoing basis, that is if they are to grasp to a significant level the concepts and approaches on how you license ideas.  Loved it!

— Simret

I sincerely appreciate your email and I NEVER REGRETTED FINDING TIME TO ATTEND YOUR PRESENTATION. I have finished reading your  book and you have changed me forever.

— Dr. Noye

Product #2 is about to launch!  Thank you, for your book!  It was my blueprint.

– Bill S.

I wanted to reach out to you to personally thank you for your wisdom and expertise. I just completed reading your book "One Simple Idea" and I can confidently say that it's given me the tools to be successful in the open innovation game!  I think the impact of this book and your knowledge will change my life, and for that I am grateful.   Thank you Mr. Key.  All the best,

– Jordan F

My ‘back’ story of triumph in the face of severe adversity is pretty amazing thanks to many people in my life, including you. You are the ripple in the pond and for that I am grateful.
Our success on the TwoCane and The HEFT (huge million dollar licensing deal) are entirely due to your book One Simple Idea-I have a very detailed testimonial letter that I will send shortly that will blow you away due to your suggestions in the book. AWESOME fan of your work!! Thanks for making a difference on this world.
– Marco L

I just listened to my first show of Shark Tank Podcast and absolutely loved it! I chose the interview with Stephen M Key and was very happy I did. Stephen always provides great information and inspiration on all the interviews/programs I've heard him, and this one was particularly candid and full of positive messages that I will use as I pursue licensing and manufacturing opportunities.

– Andrew D.

Here's a true story. About 5 years ago, after following your blogs and information for several years, I called you out of the blue. I was astonished when you returned my call and spoke with me on the phone for about 45 minutes, offering advice, tips, and more. To this day, those words of encouragement have stuck with me.

Thank you,

An aspiring product developer.
– Steve H

This time of year takes me back to yesteryear also, so many loved ones and memories to be grateful for.  I'm also very grateful for you and the amazing team at InventRight.  Your genuine desire to help all who share your creative passion is most appreciated!!!  I hope your Christmas was memorable and blessed!

– Michelle

Just when I am ready to write it off as just a always come out with a word of inspiration. One day, I will figure this thing out. :) Thanks Stephen M Key!

– Colleen

Hi Stephen. I took your advice about protecting my ideas. I've built a wall of patents. I also spent quality time on my sell sheet. I was able to fit my message on a meme and let the image do the talking because a picture is worth a thousand words. Thanks for everything.

Kind regards,
Will C

allenAs for goStrap itself, I had what could be described in the One Simple Idea universe as "the hybrid experience". At the outset, I decided to venture. I wore most of the hats and at some point, I realized that if we got really big, I would be the least qualified to manage it all. I needed to be the inventor and idea man I felt I was born to be. Appropriately and timely, your system instantly spoke to me as being the model that made the most sense. I thank you eternally for that.

— Allen

I wanted to write to let ton know that since I have read your books I have four different products that are being looked at by manufactures!! I am so excited to be doing what I love and following your knowledge and seeing results!! Thanks!!

— Jeffrey Allen M.

One simple idea is one of the most amazing books I have ever read; I  l read a lot. It sheds a great light on  the concept of licensing your idea to companies; without spending crazy amounts of money. Thanks Stephen for updating your master piece. I am definitely going to pick it up.  :)

— Vito C.

ghoulThank you, this would not have been possible without you. We have a meeting with Walmart and Kmart coming up in the next few weeks. Thanks for presenting this opportunity to me.

— Juan and Charity H.

I just wanted to reach out to genuinely thank you for all of your knowledge that you shared with the world.  I read your books, One Simple Idea, and One Simple Idea: For Startups and Entrepreneurs, and I have learned so much practical knowledge.  I also listened to your webinar, How to License Your Ideas With or Without a Patent, and listened you the podcast that were a guest on, Income For Baby Boomers, in the episode, How to Patent Your Dream Product For Less than $100.  I'm a 24-year-old in New York City working for a large accounting firm.  However, I am an entrepreneur by heart and always have been.  Your books showed me that I really can go after my dreams and invent products that I think of.

— Michael S.

LOVE your books, so much valuable information. I am currently in negotiations on an idea and I use your media as my go to when I need information...Thanks for leading the way!!!

— Jim K.

Stephen, I just wanted to personally thank you for putting my Kickstarter campaign in your  newsletter the other week.  It helped us start out strong and the momentum in the first few weeks means everything on a KS campaign.  We just broke 100K today and have 4 days left.  It feels amazing!!  Thanks for your support, and your encouragement.  This would still be just an idea floating around my mind somewhere if I hadn't read your books.

— Mike P.

Thanks for your great advice and leadership role! Thanks to you I now have a high chance of selling my product to a huge brand!

Thanks from Vienna,Austria
— Philipp

You are beyond awesome. One day I will make you both proud as I am that diamond in the rough with regards to licensing....and I will give credit to the two gentlemen who showed me the way.

– Darryl S.

Stephen , you are an inspiration! So far I have submitted two different products within the last couple of weeks! This would've never happened if it wasn't for you and Andrew. Any way's the first product I submitted they like and we are moving forward. The second product I have no answer yet but I just sent presentation over yesterday! Anyways I'm going to become a member the second I have the money.. Once again Thank you! Your the man!!!!!

– Carmine M.

Just wanted to send a shout out and a Big Mahalo (Thank You) for the information from Stephens Book "One Simple Idea".  You don't know me and although I would've loved to have taken your course and get more training, the timing for me financially was a little tight for my family and I. But with all the information in that little book was EXPLOSIVE! Although in 2001 I did get a Patent on a product I developed and drafted up myself.  Nothing happened with that and I decided not to EVER try that Again! A little stressful. LOL. But when I got an Idea in 2013 and wanted to seek help by looking online, I have found you guys... INVENTRIGHT. I purchased "One Simple Idea" and read the whole book a few times. I learned what was in there, and went step-by-step and now I'm in a process of getting a Licensing Agreement with a large Manufacturer in the next week or two. I've been in contact with the manufacturers for over a year conversing back and forth and patiently waiting till this point. Just to have my product in pretty much all the Major Big Box Stores is Totally Exciting. So I wanted to again say a Big Mahalo to you guys and I would recommend inventRight to whomever is interested in this invention field.

Aloha and Best Regards

– Ernest "Kalani" Makainai

I've read A LOT on inventing - One Simple Idea was my first book I read and holds the record as my favorite to date. I've leanred so much from you Stephen. Don't ever stop teaching us!!

– Colleen N.

Students from the Collaboration Innovation Lab show off their copies of One Simple Idea.

One Simple Idea & One Simple Idea for Startups and Entrepreneurs, they've been irreplaceable, they're both clearly written easy to understand. It's just like having him along for the ride. Like a roadmap for me in taking my prototype from an idea to my first deal. Thanks to Stephen M Key those two books are fantastic.

– Darryl I.

Thanks to Stephen M Key for inspiring us with the "Understand the Multiplying Effect" article he wrote. This article is what gave us the idea of creating something that we could sell multiple versions of.

– John R, Joseph G, & Michael G.

A couple of years ago, I was working on an idea for a new product.  I saw your book, picked it up, and followed your instructions.  On August 15th 2015, my product will be going in 500 Home Depots!  Thank you, for your help.

– Bill S

Thank you so so much for your books, your podcasts and your genuine interest in helping people like me.

I will try hard not to sound like an unhinged loony but I do appreciate what you're doing for the independent product development community.

I got into mechanical engineering as I liked to tinker with everything mechanical...I loved problem solving and I followed my head into automotive then oil and gas engineering believing i'd get to keep on solving problems...Its not like that at all. 20 years I've been trying to get engineers above, below and around me excited about innovation but it its like screaming into an empty room.

My experience of big manufacturing industries is that they want to boiler plate the same solutions that worked for years before, they don't want to reinvent anything. Innovation is something that happens to processes, we get leaner, we get more metrics..its mind numbingly boring!!

Since I read One Simple idea and Sell your ideas' 2 weeks ago, I've started drafting a provisional application for an idea i've had. I've found someone who can help me with the sell sheet graphics and I've researched about 5 US manufacturers to talk to. Don't worry I haven't handed in my notice :).

Stephen, its like a lightbulb has gone on in my head. I truly never believed an individual could get anywhere in the inventing world without being part of a corporation with deep pockets.

Thank you again and have a great day

– Caspar

curlypetsReading Stephen Key’s book’s showed me quickly and easily how to present new products ideas and those of my clients to outside companies for licensing consideration. Stephen showed me step by step how to protect new products for as little as $300.00 without the use of an attorney, create a simple sell sheet to explain the product and how to submit them to the largest companies on the planet. Now instead of living in fear that my ideas will be stolen, I shop them around in confidence to all the major manufactures. I can now speak their language and they pick up the phone when I call. Praise the Lord! I am now negotiating my fourth licensing agreement with a global retail leader with 30,000 retail locations. Thank you Stephen for leveling the playing field so us little inventors and product developers can play in the Major Leagues.

– Eric Z

Stephen Key Your book is literally worth it's weight in gold!  I told someone (a long time ago) I just wanted to create my designs "and let someone else do the manufacturing while I sat back and collected the checks". I was quickly told "that was impossible, and realistically should consider taking business classes instead". So I took free beginning "Entrepreneur"  classes in our area (thinking it would help me) but I felt like there was something missing. The old fashioned out dated ideals didn't resonate with me, I felt like they were a waste of time, and it left me frustrated and disappointed. The first time I heard of this new "creative out of the box thinking" (which you and Andrew teach) is when I stumbled onto a book by a former student of yours, Tim Ferris. A year later I found your videos and Webinar on YouTube and I felt like I had just grabbed the golden ring!  I was literally overwhelmed as I watched video after video and realized there really IS a way out from old fashioned "stick in the mud "business practices. I looked up the book (after watching a video where Andrew held it up) and purchased "One Simple Idea" on Amazon. I am not a spring chicken, but I am smart enough to know when something is working and when something isn't, and the old ways just weren't working for me. I have a new way of thinking and see things in a more positive light which has given me hope and a new out look on life. I now know I don't have to buy into the belief that I have to manufacture my own products or designs, and no longer feel pressured into having or forming a company unless I want too. Not only that, I also now know the neigh sayers were wrong! I am so looking forward to licensing my first products and am joyful knowing I can be the creative artist, designer, and product developer I was meant to be all along. I know this will take some work but I am at peace for the first time in a very long time and I am looking forward to this new and exciting chapter in my life. I really admire what you and Andrew have done. You have touched so many of our lives through YouTube, and your book by allowing us a glimpse of your real life struggles and your successes. You have shown us by example that it is possible to change our life in a positive and profound way by believing and knowing, "if you can do it, we can do it too". Thank you Stephen and Andrew for your videos, inspiration and the necessary tools making it possible to live a life many can only dream about.

– Barbiecakes808

pensillies"I DARE you to read One Simple Idea. If you are a doodler, tinker, daydreamer, Goonie, Shark Tank watcher, or Marcus Lemonis (The Profit) student and are up for a little adventure in your life, I dare you to read this book. Key challenges you to put in 10 hours per week towards your concept; sketch it, make a prototype (3D printing), apply for a non-provisional patent and start submitting proposals to companies. Stephen Keys’ approach is easy to follow and he provides real life strategies/ experiences that he has personally been through. I especially love his business philosophy on licensing versus starting a business (being married to just one concept that may not actually sell). Key helps keep your focus on the reality of licensing just by what if your monthly royalty check pays off your car or mortgage, put a lot of money into your children’s college tuitions, or simply live debt free."
– Gene, inventor of Pensillies

AUDI-ps3-300x225"I had just completed my first prototype when I was introduced to One Simple Idea. It was like the universe was telling me, “ok, here is your next step.”  I received interest immediately.    My simple idea made it all the way to the Vice Presidents of a few big companies in my first few tries.  This gave me the tools and confidence to just pick up the phone and call.  I never would have thought it could be this easy."
– Mark R.

Hi Stephen,

Thank you again and always for your solid advice and experience. I am finishing up my licensing contract. Wishing you all the best!

One Simple Idea has helped us immensely in getting our business on the right track. Many thanks and best wishes.

Last week I won your book for the door prize at the Inventors Center of Kansas City meeting! It was so funny because I had a Library version that was MONTHS overdue and my husband kept harping on me to return it...and I just happened to win it as the door prize! I was so I have my own copy to highlight, underline and mark-up as needed! :)  My husband Bob and I are volunteering at the Make48 in KC in April so hopefully we will get to meet you and have you autograph the book!
Thank you for being a great inspiration!
— Nancy P

Stephen, what an honor it is that I'm an Inventright student from Portland, OR. You and your incredibly kind and intelligent friend, Andrew Krauss, have brought a hope to my families financial future, by teaching myself and many others, a practical skillset in Licensing ideas. It's my biggest hope that the major corporations expressing interest in my prototypes, will bring my ideas to fruition. I can never thank you guys enough. You and Andrew embody true servant leadership! By far, One Simple Idea, is the best business book I've ever read. Can't wait for the new edition!

– Tom T.

I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am on how organized and informative the webinars and inventRight web site are. I have been with you guys since Spring of 2012 and have seen a big difference in the last year. The webinars are getting better all the time. You are making it real easy for us to learn. Andrew has the inventRight web site are about as organized as it can get. Great Job Guys! All your effort truly shows and is very much appreciated.Thank you both for all knowledge and support that you have given to all of us.

– Otto D.

I would like to thank the entire Inventright team for doing an exceedingly fantastic job in supporting their members. I am so happy and proud to be an inventright student. I am making phone calls and making contact with manufactures and I owe it all to Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss. These two are a great team to work with.

Harkeem S.

gildaprodIt was a pleasure speaking to you because I find your publications amazing. You have shared business strategies and detailed instructions that not only guide individuals through the process, but also empower them to move forward with their ideas.  Some of my ideas have generated $2000 in a month and some only have generate $200.00 in a month, but I now have the formula in place to launch any idea after reading One Simple Idea. I was able to get my product on the shelves of retailers like Walgreens and Bed Bath & Beyond and I did it by reading your publications. The new product I just launched this summer is already placed at airport concessions.

Not only am I successful in getting major retailers to buy my product, I get great product placement. I didn't know what a sell sheet was until I read your book! My background is in Education, not business.  Your publications have really helped my family and I!!

– Gilda B.

"You and Andrew just make things SO easy to follow. Having the benefit of your experiences and your always-positive guidance really helps me feel confident about moving forward. I just wouldn't be ANYWHERE near here without your help. THANKS again ... I truly love being an inventRight student!"
– Beverly

"Stephen Key is great! If you haven't read the book One Simple Idea, do yourself a favor and get it. He explains things in a really easy to understand way and even breaks down what makes an idea marketable and what gives it the best chance for being licensed. On a personal note it's been a game changer for me. I've always come up with lots of ideas and had tons of fun doing it and used to ask my wife... Why can't I just come up with ideas for a living? But I never knew there was an avenue to get there until now. Thanks Stephen!"

— Jesse H.

pTurner3.09-170x210"Stephen Key is the smartest inventor/mentor I have met. Listen to what he has to say!"

Learn from those who have done it before. If I had met Stephen Key before I had started up a business selling my Spiral Eye Needles I could have saved myself years of struggle and hundreds of thousands of dollars. Get his book!

"Successful inventing, like any other job, is just as much about who you know as what you know. After meeting Stephen Key at the 2008 Minnesota Inventors Congress, I followed his website, looking for scraps of knowledge and potential opportunities. Even though I have never been his student, I was able to network with people on his site. In 2009 a lead from InventRight’s site resulted in me being on ABC Nightline. In 2010 I followed up on a link on the InventRight site that resulted in an audition for the Discovery Channel show called Pitchmen. The audition turned into being featured on Season Two of PitchMen where Telebrands offered me a licensing deal for my invention."

Pam Turner
Inventor of the Spiral Eye Needle, also known as the One Second Needle

When I started your class, I didn't have any product ideas.  You've taught me how to come up with infinite ideas and I am getting interest from lots of companies.  Knowing my ideas have market-value and talking business with large companies has increased my overall confidence in life.  Thanks for helping me grow massively.

— Simon S.

If you have a mind blowing idea and no time, maybe (not really). Nobody is going to convey your idea better and with more passion than you. "Licensing Agents are where ideas go to die" Nobody is going to make you first priority but you. InventRight.Com is an amazing experience where I learn about smart ways to interact with business with resources at my fingertips, and get access to a live Skype coach. IR helps you pay attention to the details on the cheap but look professional. IR shows me how to spend the minimal amount in cost of doing business for high return real life payoff opportunity. You bet on yourself as an innovator, are given the tools and training, and have this amazing licensing dream team available to you. Looking forward to the TBA class on Crowdfunding forthcoming in the following months. These are some of the most stand up people in the cutthroat world of businesses of today. You can call them no worries because they will tell you if all of your idea sucks! Cheers!

— Clint

"I just finished listening to todays webinar and I just wanted to tell you how having these webinars really consolidate the feeling of being an actual part of this industry. Self confidence is so hard at the beginning and the thought of 'how is anyone going to really take my funny little ideas seriously', is always on autoplay in the back of ones mind. The more I become a part of the inventRight family, the more respect I have for my creative notions! Companies actually do value people like us!! I actually told someone I am in the business of product licensing yesterday and for the first time my brain actually believed it !! ( even though I am just starting !) I just wanted to thank everyone for making each week such a fun and integral part of my journey. I love you and Andrew's sense of humor, it really makes the process so enjoyable!!"
Kind regards

— Donna G.

"I've gone from dreamer to doer, and for the first time, my dream has a realistic chance of getting to the marketplace. Thanks to you, Stephen, Andrew, Terry, and the whole inventRight team. I don’t see myself as in inventor, nor do I see Home Depot as my home away from home. I see myself as an entrepreneur with insight into what people want now and in the future. My ideas actually come in a flash, full-formed as a picture in my head. I like to think of them as text messages from God. Through InventRight's step-by-step process, I have become a micro-category expert with the confidence that my product is the best it can be. I have marketing materials that will impress anyone and a provisional patent application professional enough to show potential licensees. Thank you, Stephen!"

— Susan D.

inventRight’s Staff’s Visionary Enterprise And Warmth Is Wonderfully Contagious! Stephen, Andrew, and the coaches possess a wealth of it! As an early student, I can be nothing but, eager to learn and contribute. Their primary focus is mentoring students, via one-on-one coaching through the Ten-Step Process, in the world of licensing products to companies. They talk about the principle it’s “speed to market” for products. However, what I have also experienced is “speed to support” for students. Celebrating their decades of experience, they share their extensive knowledge about the practices and trends in the licensing professional community. They offer ingenuity, humor, accessibility, and the reality mindset of a licensing product developer. Superior mentoring from the coaches and the webinars allows me to develop the dynamic inventRight skillset and the “process equation” to promote successful licensing opportunities. The inventRight Team is a pioneering “prototype” in their own regard!

Shine Gratitude,

Michele M.

Although my time with the inventRight was brief nevertheless it was a most enjoyable experience. Personal hardship has caused me to leave the program unexpectedly. However I plan to return in the near future. Just listening to all the information that inventRight offers is so educational and knowledgeable. The short time I spent learning from the webinars is quite valuable and priceless. Any serious inventor who wants to license their product would be making a wise choice to connect with the inventRight organization. These people are for real! Starting at the top with Stephen and Andrew on down through the coaches, they will treat you with dignity and honor. I thank them for being such conscious individuals that are assisting in the improvement of the lives of others through wisdom, kindness and sprinkled with a dash of comedy. More power to you inventRight!

You Rock!

– Renard J

Stephen, you are truly an artist in this area. Not only do you have the technical ability to pinpoint the most important issues but you combine it with excellent coaching that gets your student to the right state of mind in order to succeed in the next step to a licensing deal.

– Tomer S

I did the inventRight program several years ago and am still learning from it. Stephen M Key's book, One Simple Idea (which I highly recommend) , is a MUST. The InventRight program was Worth EVERY penny and was the strong foundation I needed to everything I've learned over the years.

– Colleen F.

I am glad that there are people like you in the world, people who have been there and done that, willing to give your time and share this very important knowledge with budding product developers.

Like a lot of 'inventors' changing their thinking over to be recognized as real product developers, taking this leap with your program has been what I have needed all these years. You have provided a path and continue to light the way.

You are appreciated!!

Thank you for helping us grow...

— Marc A

Just wanted to say how much I appreciate the inventRight team looking out for me. I'm really glad I joined. Even though there's distance between all of us, you guys make it feel like I'm part of a family. It feels like we have one another's backs. You've guided me towards the right path since day one. Thank you for being genuine and kind. I truly feel like the inventRight team cares for my best interests, and has since the beginning. To sum up your program in one word, I would choose "INTEGRITY." Thanks again to all the amazing staff. You guys are top notch. I am so fortunate to have AmyJo as my coach. She has been amazing from the start. If you put your trust in the inventRight team, you wont regret it.

– Domenic

Stephen Key and the InventRight staff have simply changed my life. With the InventRight program, they give you the steps to get your idea to the market. I am 20 years old, and I truly believe that InventRight has already changed my life. Although I haven’t licensed a product yet, and after many “not interested” emails, there is no better feeling than receiving an email back saying there was some interest in your product or they thought it was a good idea. These emails lifted my spirits, proved to me that I was doing something right, and I realized that these steps work! I had always dreamed about inventing or designing a product, but I thought it was something that I wouldn’t be able to do. I wasn’t willing to accept that and I believed there had to be another way. Something brought me to the computer one day last summer, where I randomly started searching youtube videos on how to get patents. I stumbled upon a video of Mr. Key and Mr. Krauss talking about something called “provisional patents”. About half way through the video, I knew this was it. The answers and information I had been looking for were finally right in front of me. For me, it is not a matter of IF I license a deal, it’s a matter of WHEN I license a deal. With hard work and the InventRight steps, you can accomplish your goals of bringing your product to the market.

— Andrew S

InventRight gave me the confidence and appropriate preparation to proceed as a true product developer. Having a great team assist me and knowing I can contact Stephen Key anytime gives me great reassurance that I am in the right path to success.

– Carlos A.

I just wanted to thank you for all the knowledge I've gained since working with you over the past year! I'm very close to closing my first Licensing Deal and I will be making calls next week on my second product. I couldn't have done it without you! Your knowledge and expertise is priceless. I've totally become a better Inventor/Product Developer, thanks to you and the inventRight program. Thanks again Coach Alix!!

PS inventRight is a great company with Awesome Coaches. Thank you for all of your support!

– Anthony B.

Alix has been fantastic from the beginning of this idea; having her guidance and support for every step has truly helped me get here. Have I told you lately how much I love being an inventRight student?! OH how I can't wait til you can help me w/ Step 9!

— Beverly C

I just want to say thank you for the interest and help you have offered. No one in my life has given me the opportunity you have through your advice and discussions. The paths you're opening for me will directly help me help others, and I'm eternally grateful.

— Eliot D.

Just a quick and heartfelt, thank you! I truly appreciate you calling this afternoon.  Just to hear your advice and experience in these seasonal / novelty areas helps me better plan and determine my licensing steps. It is my goal to be an InventRight success story soon.   I love this program, the process and the business possibilities. Again, thank you so much.

— Kelly G.

I really think the focus on a potential licensee’s perspective I learned through InventRight was a big advantage to our team when competing at Make48.  Had I undertaken the same challenge prior to my InventRight experience, I would have done things differently, and that’s not a good thing. So, here’s the off-the-record expansion of what I’m saying:  We all saw some pretty novel ideas presented that were just plain unmarketable to companies.  I don’t want to take full credit for our team’s success, but I know for a fact that the things I learned from Stephen’s book and David’s coaching of my project made a difference in the way I guided the team.  When we made our video, I could almost hear David’s tips echoing in my head:  “Keep it short so they never lose interest”  “Present your product at 8 seconds.”  “focus on benefits, not features.”  “use language that will help them relate emotionally to the experience.”
Many thanks,
— Harper A.

"thank you" isn't even enough to explain how grateful I am to have had you as a coach. Like I've said, I would still be sitting here scratching my head at Step 1. You took the time to help me get past obstacles and were patient with me. You explained things when I still couldn't understand. My membership has ended but I will be back as soon as my finances allow me. I don't know what I would have done without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Good luck to you and with your products too.

I do have a word of advice for other Invent Right Students. This process is scary, there are a lot of options with 3 times as many obstacles, but the coaches are here to help us. Book appointments, and check in. Only regret I really have is not starting sooner. Both by signing up with InventRight sooner and also by jumping into the process faster after signing up. I waited over 6 months before I got up the nerve to just start an idea. Years in total, but 6 months on InventRight. Just dig in and go for it. "With no risk and effort, comes no reward"

Good luck everyone, and THANK YOU ALIX!!!

— Michael P.

I found the inventRight course several years ago…and waited.  For what, I don’t know, but I finally decided that if I didn’t do something with my ideas, that if I didn’t invest in myself and take the risk of how I wanted to live my life, I would always look back and think “what if”.

I have been with inventRight now for about 2 months and I have found the coaching to be supportive, encouraging and honest.  Thanks to inventRight, I am excited to be working through the process and I know what I need to do next to move my product from concept to shelf space.  It’s one thing to read a book about the experience and it’s quite another to have someone who has the experience of inventing and licensing on the phone with me, guiding me through the steps.  Thanks Amy Jo!  Thanks inventRight!

— Dan W

"I have attempted to market products for a good many years and I have always seemed to encounter blockades that I could not overcome. That is, until I found InventRight.

The InventRight system is a world changer for anyone who wants to fulfill their dreams of a successful endeavor of bringing to market their innovations and ideas. This system is so logically and well-rounded that it can be utilized by any individual or company. And as an added bonus, the InventRight system is very affordable and  they DO NOT ask for large sums of money up front. They don't take any percentages of your earnings from royalties, sells, etc. This, in itself, is a rarity in today's world of unscrupulous businesses.

One has the full ability of reaching out to their well-trained coaches when needed. The smart scheduling system they have gives all students equal opportunities to receive assistance with any problems or issues that are encountered. The coaches are very well trained and have a very welcoming approach. The coaches act as teammates and mentors, not just instructors. In fact, I learned that for the last several years, I have been making mistakes that could have been detrimental to the progress of my marketing tactics.

With the help of InventRight, I have, in progress, two different ideas that I am attempting to license. I have used their multitudes of plans, on-line seminars and templates to get to the point now of contacting manufacturers and buyers.

This system is for real."

InventRight is the one stop shop solution that all inventors and product developers need to explore.  The amount of information I've learned in the last 3 months would have taken me years to discover on my own.  Not only does inventRight foster an educational environment (no sales approach at all) they get excited when their students succeed.  InventRight has not only given me the support, guidance and tools to teach me to be successful in the licensing process but the amount of excitement, energy and motivation I gleen from the webinars and coaching calls just keeps my creativity flowing.  I can't thank Stephen, Andrew and Amy Jo enough for the help, encouragement and making this a FUN process! I'll be an inventRight student for a long time!

— Kate Y.

Amy Jo Brogan, a coach with the inventRight program, has been guiding me through the early stages of getting my product BevScent™ licensed. She's extremely bright, forward-thinking, and delightful to work with. With her help and encouragement, I'm already beginning to see positive results, and I'm only in month two of a year long program!

— Michael B.

Cold calling is one of the fun things to do in the inventRight process. Why? Because it is where you finally start to get feedback regarding all the hard work that you have done to create, research, develop, and protect your idea to that point.   Take note and take heart (relief) that it is not about selling or convincing someone of the benefits of your product.  Consider it this way, you are offering them an opportunity to be part of your idea that can benefit both of you.  Be excited - not gushing, but professionally upbeat.
I use my script.  I keep it in front of me on the desk when I make my calls. It's simple to follow and can be used as a crutch if you tense up or need some reminder help. There's nothing magic about the exact words - you can modify them or add to them to suit your own needs (its a Word doc). Just remember that your goal is to get your sell sheet, video, etc. in the right person's hands for a fair evaluation. The info you send should do the selling without your having to discuss the idea until they show an interest.
I this helps simplify the calling process and take the fear out of making calls.

— Bob S.

Thank you so much for recognizing me in the webinar, it made me feel like a "rock star" :)  And as always, an hour packed full of valuable information! I'm glad I can continue to work on licensing my products while I play the manufacturing waiting game!
— Michelle

Stephen, I was blown away to be selected as a Rock Star, I yelled to my wife, "Lauri, get in here they are talking about me!" so she got to hear you as well. Like you said it's the wives that have the courage to put up with us and mine has been very supportive and instrumental in where I am now. I am so grateful for you and Andrew, joining inventRight has helped me immensely and continues to be empowering for me.

— Mike L.

Have I told you lately how much I love being an inventRight student?!!  :o) Could never have gotten anywhere close to here without your guidance and support !!

— Bev

I can not express how much I appreciate your program. I can remember as a small child, telling myself I was going to be an inventor. No one understood how to get me there because to so many people it is just a dream. I am teaching my creative kids how to follow the steps too.

— Danielle G

I can't believe how much inventright has taught me over the last 18 months. Things are working out perfectly Thanks to you all.

— Tim B

I want you to know how grateful I am for the confidence I’ve gained from being your student… Nothing can take that away from me.

— Simon S.

InventRight and there coaches make it easy, and walk you through every step. They always have a positive attitude and really care for your success. Thank you, inventRight family!!!

— Freddie G.

As Andrew probably knows I was pretty hesitant when I first talked to him about the program and how it can help me license my product. I can definitely say right now that I am amazed by how much you guys are helping your students bring their inventions to the market!

Your commitment level to a never ending process of learning, improvement and above all sharing of real world essential information that helps people succeed in bringing their inventions to life is a thing to admire. I really think your work actually helps improve the world we live in.

Specifically for me, I can say that this is the closest I have come to licensing my product in over 15 years. With the help of my amazing coach Amy Jo, I have gone through a wonderful road taking all the inventRight steps, and finally located an interested potential licensee. We are working on a term sheet now.

I'm very much used to doing things on my own, but I can honestly say that I couldn't have reached this far without you. Amy Jo has the ability to give you the exact advice you need at the right moment. Sometimes it's so simple it's actually frustrating and amazing at the same time. Amy Jo will keep you laser focused on your next step and nothing more. When I had a hard time with cold calling Amy Jo managed to pull me out of my despair and keep me up and running - something even my wife couldn't do. BTW, I'm still struggling with it.

It still feels like a dream to get this licensing contract signed, but we are on the right track. I know it. And you know I won't stop until I will. I'm looking forward to continue working with you.

— Tomer

I can’t even tell you how much it means to me to be able to talk to you all.  I just need to stop thinking so much and just do it!!  I have had my list of companies since before I went to ICAST.  I’m having the hardest time with that.  I do really enjoy all the webinars. I’m going to get on it today.  After I get off the phone with David. Thank you again for your time and all the help you have given me. God Bless and kindest regards

— Tina S

You are a great friend, the best mentor I have ever had and a really very special, one of a kind person. All your effort and time that you spend with us, the stories that you have shared are priceless, You are greatly appreciated!

– Otto D

Stephen is a master negotiator. He recently helped my partner and I on a licensing deal.  Reading one of his articles it struck me that I may have violated half of his rules of thumb but then Stephen stepped in and helped us re-negotiate a better deal by basically following these rules. Thanks again, Stephen!

– R.M.

babyHands Changing Pad is now 80% funded after just 6 days on Kickstarter! The response has been AMAZING! Thanks Stephen! I really don’t think I’d be to this point if it wasn’t for the books you wrote and your inventright course.  I really appreciate all of the help and guidance you have provided me.

– Mike P

Check out Mike's Product here.

Thank you for stepping in and providing Christy and I with excellent advice and guidance.  It's clear that we are still babies in the woods!  It was hard for me to discuss changes after having spent the last weeks negotiating the contract, but I do see that the contract needed improvement and that there were things that hadn't been properly worked out. It's always great to have you involved and I'm grateful for your time and efforts on mine and Christy's behalf.

Thanks again,

– Richard M

I have been one of your students over the past year and have loved it.  You guys helped me a lot with this diaper changing pad product and although I didn’t get it licensed I found a group that is helping me launch it on my own and we just today put it up on Kickstarter. Thank you so much for all you have done for me.  The inventright program is amazing. Your course and books were absolutely essential in getting me to this point.

– Michael P.

"As I searched I saw a lot of invention companies that would do the whole process for you. Basically, take your idea, run with it, work it and try to license it. For a sizable fee and or part of your royalty, which didn't sit with me very well. I wanted to be a part of the process and know what was going on and learn how to do this myself for my future products. And then I saw Stephen Key and Invent right! After reading about Invent right and the story of Stephen Key, I knew this was the place for me. It was exactly what I was looking for,  someone to teach me the licensing process and help me through each step. After speaking with Andrew and realizing they didn't just accept anyone into the program (that was something I really liked) and weren't just looking to make money......they honestly wanted to help inventors learn the licensing process. That was it! I was sold and signed up as soon as possible. Next I was teamed up with Coach Amy Jo Brogan and after speaking to her the very first time I realized we were on the same page and had instant rapport. Every conversation and coaching session has been very very easy and a wonderful learning experience. I really can't express in words how happy I am to have found Invent right."

– Beth S.

From the first time I read your book I knew you were a person who sees the world the way I do. Since I was a kid, I was always cutting recycles and making them into something else or fixing a problem with them.  After reading your book last year, I finally found where I am supposed to be. I was designing, but fashion was not my passion. I am even teaching my kids to create and use your system. (They are 6, 9, & 11 and they love it!) I even sent them to camp invention this summer.

– Danielle G.

Contract signed. Yeah! Thank you Stephen! Couldn't have done it as good as this without you. You've given me so much confidence for each call. Thank you!!!

– Ben R.

"I have been working and perfecting my product for about 7 years now.  I had a friend who was interested in manufacturing it but he was in a different industry and never seemed to offer any form of protection.  Somehow I just could not commit to that perceived opportunity. After a careful search of the internet, I found you, Stephen, ordered your book, read it in almost a day and contacted inventRight immediately. (And I usually move very cautiously, particularly with internet options) I was drawn by the sense of commitment that I heard, saw and read.  Mostly, I was impressed by the common sense approach and the sincere effort to help others benefit from your passion without wasting time or money. InventRight has given me the confidence to move forward, to continue to perfect my product as well of thinking of other products that can serve and benefit many.  In fact Inventright has taught me an approach helpful in running and growing a small business which I have had for years. Not only does inventRight offer trust, but a helping hand to guide and help protect you through unfamiliar territory.  InventRight clearly has a mission to serve not only its members but those who benefit from the inventions.  Too few companies out there concern themselves with true service."
– Edie H

"Thank you for shining light whenever I need clarity about moving my projects forward.  I feel pretty awkward and vulnerable sometimes... Your experience and understanding are always encouraging."

– Simon S.

"David, and all at inventRight thank you for your help.  I have told many, many people how amazing and helpful you have been and am trying to encourage others to look around, see what they can improve on and then call inventRight.  I wish I had found you a long time ago."

– Edie H.

"InventRight for me has been a life changer!  When I originally signed-up for the class, I was unsure what you could teach me that all my college professors and work experiences could not.  Well, it was clear after the first online class that I was in the right place!  I appreciate being able to talk to my coach, who can assist me through every step of the process, giving suggestions, advice, and encouragement whenever I need help.  I’ve learned so much about product development, marketing, managing the budget, intellectual property, negotiating, avoiding pitfalls, and being a professional.  For me, just learning how to negotiate and accept rejection has been a life skill worth every penny.

You are great teachers and encouragers.  You care about your students and our successes.  Thank you, Stephen and Andrew, for teaching me these skills, encouraging me year after year, and helping me follow my dream.  Your program is the real deal.  InventRight has been one of the best investments I’ve made in my future!"

– Ruth H.

"I have learned a lot form inventRight, like finding a better idea or finding a company. Now I know how to build and sketch a project and sell it. I believe that I will sell my first idea soon."
— Bassam

"After thoroughly researching the inventing process, I went full force into filing a patent and creating a prototype...and then i got to the point where I felt like I was out of my league.  Luckily I found inventRight!  After reading Stephen Key's book [One Simple Idea] I knew exactly what I had to do.  The coaching staff is amazing, I really feel like I have an entire team behind me.  I've been following the program and getting into companies and even getting interest from some of my prospects.  These guys are the real deal. I feel like I have a real chance of getting my product to market!"

– Andre C

"I just want to thank you for being there for me, the information you provide me with is very valuable! I wish I would have had this information Three years ago. I look forward to are next our next coaching session!"

– Rob S

“Because I have dyslexia, I haven’t picked up a book in years — probably since I was 16 or 17. I’ve only ever listened to Stephen’s books; I haven’t read them. I have been empowered by inventRight to be a better person, not only because I’m learning this new trade, but also because I have a newfound confidence. I’ve learned to do things that I never imagined I would, like working with an attorney. inventRight has empowered me in more ways than I ever could have imagined. Knowing that Stephen and Andrew and the whole inventRight family are behind me, well, it gave me the power to think that I could do this too. I’m hoping my patent issues later this year, or at least some claims. A year ago, I would not have thought that was possible. Now I know it is! Listening to everything they have to say and working with them directly has been amazing.”

kevinmcheckThis past Wednesday was the entrepreneurship contest I entered and I won first place and received $50,000! I presented my Lift Stick idea. I wanted to say thank you to you guys for the help along the way. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to keep pushing down the entrepreneurial path.

– Kevin M.

Today during my coaching call Alix transformed my sell sheet through her feedback from a standard product into one with an emphasis on the "Artisan" aspect of the product.  I'm so excited because this opens it up and emphasizes how the product is different from others partly because of my skill as an artist.  I think it's just what the sell sheet needed because people seemed to be saying, "We have the shephard's hook and it works well...we don't need anything new."  At the very least this change answers that question.  But really it also added a whole new dimension.

Have a great picked well.

Jodi C

I'm so glad you went over the sell sheet with me. I can't believe the difference from my old one to this new one (in both wording and design). Times like these make me so glad I joined the InventRight program. I think I would be lost without the guidance. :)

~Lindsey S

andyg.jpgI wanted to thank you both both for your amazing books and videos. I learned so much from them and was able to license a game last year that will go on sale in mid 2015. Thanks again for the amazing materials you guys produce.

– Andy G.

I grew up with my step dad working for Raytheon, Fairchild, and then Intel, after flunking out of Stanford. Have been around inventive genius since I was 7 in Portland Maine. My neighbor was an old Norwegian Tom Anderson. He shared his walk behind Snow Blower with the executives at Sears. Shortly thereafter Sears had their first snow blower, and the first one in the world. This was my invitation into the world of creativity, inventions, patents, and the insane fears of the whole industry.
Growing up in the Silicon Valley prior and after that gave me much understanding of the ways that money can be made over night in that industry and many industries tied into that one, or any for that matter.
The marketing industry is like religion, they tell you that you have to have somebody to go between you and God to make it all happen. Jesus says come to me, SO DOES THE INDUSTRY! You guys make it happen, with the most free thinking, tactfully humorous, and hilarious ways that make things so user friendly. Thank you from me, but thank you from America or any market that would listen long enough to STOP fearing and start believing and moving, hope that in a few weeks I will bring results to show  one more success story that you guys have directly influenced.

— Yours truly, John D., Noblesville In.
P.S. We have in our day more priests acting as though they are tragically indispensable, in reality they are in the way. Priests, clergy, lawyers, doctors, bankers, need to step aside, we can get it done with out all of them, you guys proved it long long ago.

I just wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed and continue to enjoy listening to your MP3 CD "One Simple Idea".

The MP3 CD suits me perfectly for my car journey's to and from work when I'm just killing time and sitting in traffic! I have also purchased the book version for easier reference if I've forgotten the CD track number.

I've read other books on inventing and visit inventing forums via the web and listened to various radio/talkshows on innnovation. Admittedly, it was daunting at the outset, but over the last few years I've become more and more familar with patenting, licensing etc.

However, I've come to the conclusion that your book is the quintessential bible of how one can fastrack one's idea from napkin to license, bypassing the many pitfalls along the way. Anyone starting out in the world of innovation/inventing/product development needs only one book/CD- It's called "One Simple Idea" by Stephen Key!

Not only is your CD informative- it's also inspirational. I've learned so much from your CD and no doubt saved $1000's along the way and more importantly, saving an immense amount of time. In effect, your CD has enabled me to move closer to realising my dreams of eventually one day seeing my ideas selling on DRTV and in large retailers worldwide.

I just want to thank you Stephen for putting together something that has helped me beyond my expectation of what a book or CD can offer about the world of inventing and licensing.

— Cornel C

Thanks so much for the guidance and direction that you have given me.  I always wanted to be an inventor, and make my mark ever since I was a kid.  I never knew this could be a possible way to get products to market.  Without this I would continue to dream and not invent.

– John C.

In March of 2014, I came up with an idea that I believed would change the drywall industry forever.  Coming up with the idea was the easy part. Now I needed to figure out how to get my idea out there.  That was the hard part. As I was working on developing my prototype, I stumbled across a You tube video where this guy seemed like he was talking directly to me and answering all the questions I was struggling with.  That guy was Stephen Key!  I started watching all his videos and bought his book One Simple Idea. I have taken my idea and pitched my product to five different companies and currently have several interested in my product. Stephen has helped me with every aspect to this point and I’m sure I would have made some mistakes if not for his advice. I’m very grateful that someone with Stephen’s knowledge is out there and willing to share his expertise with all of us entrepreneurs!  I encourage anyone who has an idea to read his book and check out his videos.  I know you will find the answers you are looking for.  I want to thank Stephen and his company for all the advice and information they provided to me.  I know that they are the reason I am where I am today!
— TJ B

Thanks in part to you, my daughter and entrepreneur is evolving into a serious designer even at her very young age.  It's thanks in part to you because: had I not started designing and attempting to license products myself, my daughter never would have ended up doing the same. So, your influence on peoples lives extends well beyond your immediate students.  I think I'm starting to understand the kind of gratification that must provide.

— Richard M.

Wonderful tips guys...  I've been sitting on my ideas for a while, just stuck in the mud not knowing what to do. As of last week, after watching all your videos over and over.  I've created my sell sheet, filed my PPA myself, and started calling companies. Thanks for the motivation and the confidence, both of you guys are Great!

— inventRight Student

I want to thank you very much for your help last week on the conference call, and everything leading up to it and beyond. I am truly grateful for that. By the way, thanks to you and Andrew for making the Getting In ebook available to us. I’m always eager to find new nuggets of truth and inspiration.

— Kevin C.

I’m a very competitive person in lots of things. I hate losing so much that sometimes I quit because I can’t stand it. For 10 years, I quit being an inventor because I didn’t like not winning at this game. I love InventRight because now I can win.

—Tim B.

I wanted to thank you for changing my life. Your system has changed the way I see the world and my future. I've been working with David who is fantastic by the way and has been such a great and very smart coach. Great leaders surround themselves with very strong people and your group to include Andrew and Alix are amazing. I've been pressing hard on my new line of candy products and through this process I've made so many great contacts who asked that I send them ideas in the future! I have new candy ideas and will be creating sell sheets and pitching to my new contacts thanks to you. Continued success and I'm looking forward to reading your new books - Thanks Stephen.

— Joseph S.

"Thank you all for another, great webinar; How to Get Into Big Companies. The information was absolutely extraordinary. I’m still amazed that we have access to such valuable knowledge and experience that inventRight shares. Thank you!"

— Kevin C.

I joined the InventRight team at the recommendation of a fellow inventor. One of my biggest fears was the dreaded cold call, however after learning the InventRight system it has become the most exciting and enjoyable part of the process. Here’s my new motto – InventRight is a VERB – We Are Action – Action Creates Clarity!

I now realize I’m making opportunity calls to companies and there’s no better way to get instant feedback from the people who matter most then by asking this one simple question –

Wow! What a great question. I had 3 separate people from 3 different companies all respond with the exact same response – “Of course, who would tell you no?”

As you begin engaging companies something amazing happens - they give you the roadmap to success – all you have to do is listen. Here’s how we should measure success and yes I consider it a success even when companies turn down the opportunity to produce my latest and greatest idea! Let’s be honest, we are creative and smart however we can get bogged down by fear. Remember my new motto – We Are Action and Action creates Clarity. I want to know if my idea is as good as I think it is or not worth the effort and companies will clear that mystery up very quickly. The amazing part of not interested doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. I had a director of sales who loved my idea but didn’t have the equipment or means to produce and distribute my idea, however he spent 45 minutes on the phone going through his contacts of people I should call. He gave me permission to use his name and now I have developed a great contact for future advice and deals. – A successful No! – InventRight is a Verb – Action Creates Clarity – The insight and advice I received with that (No) opportunity call was invaluable. Here’s another example in an email I received. I just made 2 more contacts for future deals!

I’ve moved on to my next product, and it’s good. I know it’s good because after getting my sell sheet the CEO of the company called me from Los Angles after a meeting with Disney. That CEO’s company does 50 million per year in sales of Novelty Candy Products. He spent 35 minuets on the phone with me, offering advice to include contacts and pitfalls to avoid. He said I could call him at any point for advice and future product ides! That’s amazing – The CEO called me – a new inventor – I now have a new friend and mentor all because I made one call and asked one simple question – DO YOU LOOK AT NEW PRODUCT IDEAS? Thank You InventRight! I’m getting nothing but great feedback.

Thank you InventRight Team.

Joseph Smith, Indianapolis, IN

Working with David has been a great and positive experience. I remember when I first heard him on the show speak about how he had licensed his second product and I thought to myself "I need to speak to this man". Shortly afterwards you had announced him as a couch on your team and I immediately had to make my first appointment. As soon as I started to work with David, everything started to change. I felt like I was speaking to the male version of myself (I always tell him that). I followed everything that he has helped me with and currently have five products under review. David give me hope and the belief that it's not a matter of if but a matter of when.
Thank you!
Sylvia P

I can mention a handful of reasons why David is a great coach to work with but I think what has him be the best coach for me is the fact that just a little while ago, David was a student doing exactly what I was doing (and probably a lot of students are doing), he was making A HUGE DEAL out of cold calling, and thought he was in action because he cold called one or two companies every other week. And once he got in action, he went from "student" to "professional" and since he made that leap just recently, he is able to relate to me being terrified of cold calling and making a huge deal out of it and avoiding contacting companies at all cost. He coached me in such way that I discovered all "cold calling" is, really, is contacting companies to get instructions to submit an idea, and that is it, there is nothing scary about it! I'm forever grateful... now it is not a matter of "if" but "when".

– Aiko

inventRight empowers you to set and accomplish goals one small and achievable step at a time. Want to invent and license? Make sure you're going the Right way!

Stephen Key and the InventRight coaches are masters at teaching licensing.  Their approach the licensing process like guides with a map, providing a map which shows all of the steps involved in the process (their "10 Steps"), and then personally guiding their students through the landscape of the map.  Their expertise helps students avoid typical pitfalls and teaches students how to make sound decisions during the process of creating and licensing products.  The value this provides is priceless.

Be Well,
Jodi C

I just wanted to thank you for the great communication!  I really enjoy your program especially working with Alix, she is very helpful and patient.  I look forward to my appointments with her because she keeps me on track and motivated.

Thanks for your time.
— Hilda A

Thank you Stephen! Guess WHAT! We have two big company's that have offered to license Switch Kick and manufacture and distribute too! I have both meetings next week AND we are going to the NAMM show with our own booth! Your service even if we don’t license is paying off!

– Kevin

Amy Jo B.

Thank you so much for all of the time and effort you have put into helping me on my projects. It is so clear to me how much you care about helping everyone at Invent Right. The Invent Right team has allowed me to wake passionate and excited about work each day -- a true blessing.

Thank you again and happy holidays!

Very Best,

From Stephen and Andrew I've gained the ability to easily speak to companies and have the ear of people whom I never before felt would listen.  I've learned to present my products in ways that get me noticed and remembered.  I have now had licensing offers on multiple products, and know that I am on the right path towards closing a deal -- and I am thankful for all the insights and lessons that they have clearly provided!   Thank you Stephen, Andrew, and the inventRight staff for always being there for my questions, helping me face my fears, and showing me a path to becoming a successful product developer.  I truly believe in inventRight.

Stephen, I’m also always amazed at your prompt phone replies!!  Today I didn't even get to finish leaving a voicemail before you returned my call!!

Thanks again for your help, patience, and advice!!  You and inventRight are solid gold!

– J. Andre

Steven and Andrew,

I appreciate your willingness to work with me as an inventRight student.  Your input is invaluable and after we talk I always feel more confident that we are on the right path.

Best Personal Regards,

Dear Stephen,

I read Mr. Key's book a few years ago. I had been undergoing cancer treatments for a few years, and I was financially strapped. I had been a corporate attorney until my diagnosis, and with a long-term battle ahead, I had no idea what was going to become of me and felt imprisoned in what to do with my life.

Mr. Key's book really changed my life because it helped me to think outside of the box. It really helped me to see the power of an idea. It gave very helpful and clear guidance on how to take an idea and turn it into revenue. Furthermore, the book provided helpful instructions and resources.

I am still undergoing treatments. I am thankful that this book helped me to get on a terrific path in the midst of a very trying time.

Thank you, Mr. Key!!!!

Thanks again Stephen for responding so quickly to my call for help! Very, very much appreciated!

It confirms, (not that it was required) the amazing level of genuine commitment you, Andrew and the rest of your team have for helping your students to success. With so much going on in the world these days it is hugely comforting especially for a newbie such as, but not limited to, myself.

Thanks and regards,

To the InventRight Team,

My name is Harkeem, and I am a Product Developer. I would like to thank the entire inventRight team for doing an exceedingly fantastic job in supporting their members. I am so happy and proud to be an inventRight student. I am making phone calls and making contact with manufactures, and I owe it all to Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss. These two are a great team to work with.

Thank you for your encouragement. You give me great inspiration. I will be successful at this in the near future. I haven’t given up my day job, but I have been working on a few things, and your book gives me hope.

Hello Stephen,

Absolutely outstanding Webinar last night it's just what I needed.  I am a different kind of learner meaning I need a bit more explanation when someone's trying to teach me something.  I find your ability to convey and cover details very useful.  What's even more helpful is you dialogue things so the details can be best understood in how things are spoken as well.  What hangs me up pulls me back is I don't know what to say or how to say it so I don't do things.  Your thinking well to include dialoguing in teaching the InventRight steps shows your natural instinct for people skills.

Thank you again and again I can't thank you enough.

Hi Stephen and Andrew,

Wow, great webinar tonight!! No doubt in my mind I have THE best coaches in the world!! I am VERY happy you encouraged me to "keep inventing" to make my product better which I do think has made it much stronger... Now I just have to keep taking the actions to FIND IT A GOOD HOME!! LOVE being an inventRight student, and feel incredibly lucky to have your expertise and support behind me. I am determined to get a licensing deal ... if not for this project, then for a future one!

Hi Stephen,

Just wanted to email you a special thank you for the webinar last night! I was really knocked out by it. It answered some nagging questions I had from before, and got me all excited for when I write a PPA for my next project. You and Andrew just make things SO easy to follow. Having the benefit of your experiences and your always-positive guidance really helps me feel confident about moving forward. I just wouldn't be ANYWHERE near here without your help. THANKS again ... I truly love being an inventRight student ...

I can’t begin to tell you how much your program and your inspiration has helped me with a product I have worked with for around 6 years.  I have done my sell sheet, my pending patent and I am ready to start sending out my sell sheet, which Andrew helped me improve.  You have opened the door for me to license it and have started the wheels turning on many other products.  I also know and have other friends who have already spent huge amounts of money for patents and are attempting to manufacture their own products.  I will be talking to these friends and hope to head them in your direction. Thanks again for your help and encouragement.  Hopefully I will be able to call on you to help me negotiate my product with some big company.  Have a great day!

What Authors Say...

hack“If you want unlimited income, you’ll have to piggyback and find a multiplying effect. I was fascinated by the question, ‘How can I find this multiplying effect that doesn’t require my presence?’ My journey has been to find a way to piggyback on other opportunities, so I can keep my freedom to do what I want. Working for somebody else was never going to work for me, ever.” – Stephen Key, entrepreneur, inventor, and bestselling author of One Simple Idea.

I never actually thought of it in this way before, but Stephen is absolutely right. Passive income refers to scalability, not to sleeping all day. Scalability to me is absolutely essential in building a business, because it goes hand in hand with the multiplier effect. Personally, I do this in two ways: through my podcast and my software products.

I can create something like my podcast once and put it out there, after which it can multiply and literally get listened to by tens of thousands of people around the world. That’s amazing. Instead of me going and knocking on a door, shaking hands with somebody, and meeting them, I create a multiplier effect, which is absolutely essential. That is how you should see passive income and the way it’s created. Do things that can scale and become bigger than you could ever make them.

I achieve the same effect when creating software products, like VelocityPage. Even though I have to do ongoing development and maintenance, I basically build the product and that’s that.

Whether I sell one or a hundred software licenses a day does not influence my workload. That is absolute scalability. I fully agree with Stephen: if you want unlimited wealth and the potential of being able to take yourself out of the equation at some point, you need to have that effect. It is impossible to achieve when you work for somebody else. That other person, the owner of the company, will be the one who gets the multiplier effect.

Find your own multiplier effect and enjoy it.

From Inventor Organizations & Industry Leaders

kengI didn't get a chance after the presentation to thank you again for your giving of your valuable time to speak with us in Minnesota this week.  I really enjoyed your presentation and especially appreciate the great insight it gave us all in describing the ever changing environment of licensing.  I know your words really inspired a lot of the people attending too, not only to pursue their inventions, but to perhaps join our group. We at the Inventor's Network are very lucky to have you support us as a group, and encourage us as individual inventors.

— Ken G. Inventors Network Minnesota

stevelyonStephen Key cares about inventors. He wants us to be successful. Stephen has become a real friend of Inventors Network. Since 2011, he has touched many of us with his practical and inspiring message, but what I and others that know him appreciate most is his decency. He believes in paying it forward and what he does is truly unique to this industry and makes us all better.

— Steve Lyon, Speaker Secretary, Inventors Network Minnesota

Your presentation was great! I was in meetings all day yesterday, and my blackberry buzzed at least 40 times with people giving me compliments on the meeting and your talk.

The messages I received yesterday, said that they were blown away by your presentation, and that you are the best speaker we ever had. I would have to agree!

Thank You !

– Joe Gross, President Edison Inventors Assoication, Fort Myers, FL

Thank you so much for coming to Lexington and being the keynote speaker at our Inventors Conference. The crowd was amazing; the seats were filled with more people standing in the back and out the door of the auditorium! You have a real gift. I could tell our attendees were very amped up as we adjourned to the exhibits. You were inspiring, dynamic and educational. You could tell it was a very eye-opening experience for so many that were there. We would certainly look forward having you come back and speak for us in the future. Again, we so appreciate the contribution of your time and talent at our annual Inventors Conference.

– Don Skaggs, President, Central Kentucky Inventors Council

"To say the least, our February meeting was, to my knowledge, the best meeting that we have ever had!!! We have never had such a turnout with standing room only and people standing outside the door trying to get a glimpse of your talk. In addition, we have never had so many new members signing up at one time. I was getting hand cramps just writing membership receipts. Membership money and applications were coming from every where. Furthermore, we have never had such an after meeting turnout at the Black Eyed Pea. In short, your presence broke records!!!

After the meeting, I had numerous people, including patent attorneys, tell me what a wonderful speaker you were and how much they learned in ways that they have never heard before. Many asked when and if you will be coming back. I was standing in the back of the room and never saw so many people taking notes, including patent attorneys. We definitely will invite you to come back in the future and hope that you can make it."

– George Burkhart, Alamo Inventors

“Stephen Key makes bringing a product to market within reach of every individual. His approach offers people the education they need to be successful whether they do it themselves or choose to hire a service provider. The credibility he brings as an inventor who has made money on his ideas is inspiring and his understanding of various industries and changing markets is invaluable.”

Carrie Jeske - President, Inventors Club of Kansas City

"Stephen Key came to Tampa on March 7th to share his experiences with members of the Tampa Bay Inventors Council and thoroughly convinced me that he is a true advocate for the individual inventor. He speaks from a place not beholden to the politics of organized inventor marketing groups and shares his passion as a successful inventor entrepreneur. He really wants to make a difference and help inventors chart a successful course to getting products on the market and ultimately make money. I know that I will apply his ten steps to my inventions in the future and appreciate all of his encouragement and advice. "

Wayne Rasanen - President, IN10DID, Inc., Tampa Bay Inventors Council

"Thanks very much for the excellent presentation last week. The webinar format worked great with Stephen doing the talking and Andrew handling the video portion and asking the tough questions --- it came across really well. I got quite a few messages from people who attended expressing their appreciation for the great information (and effective presentation) you two provided."

– Brett Strouss, American Society of Inventors

Stephen was kind enough to volunteer to speak to the Austin Inventors group and his passion for product absolutely charged the room. The process Stephen outlined was practical and straight forward. his words of encouragement for the individual product developer made everyone in the room believe they could stand toe to toe with the biggest names in the industry. As founder and President of the Austin Inventors group I received a lot of positive feedback about his approach and process given it was such a refreshing perspective. I would recommend to any inventor or entrepreneur in the ideation phase of the process to enjoy and benefit from Stephen's insights.

Chris Ritchie, President, AIEA

"Thank You for doing what you do. I have just browsed both your web sites, and of course I'm just blown away!! The depth and truth of it are totally amazing!! I too have been helping inventors for a long time, but not to even a fraction of the extent your work is. I find it hard to believe that someone is actually giving sound advice to inventors about the mysterious world of "marketing." I've been able to give advice on protecting ideas, staying away from scams, and guiding them through patent searching, but anything above that level is only hearsay, or a quote. Now at last I will be able to steer clients to your websites and by doing so, help them far beyond what I ever hoped I could. Thank you again -- so very much!! You are my hero's now, so guess what the topic of interest will be at our next NIA meeting... Wow!! I can hardly wait to spread the word."

- Don Costar, Founder, Nevada Inventors' Association. (NIA)

Stephen Key's talk at the Inventors Network of the Capital Area gave our members valuable information on the product development process. Through stories of his own inventing adventures Stephen made complex patent and licensing subjects more easy to understand.

Glen Kotapish, Past President, Inventors Network of the Capital Area,

I invited Stephen Key of InventRight to be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Nevada Inventor’s Association last July. His presentation was incredible and members of our club continue to state that he was the most informative and helpful guest speaker we had in 2009. Stephen Key and InventRight are truly an asset to the inventing community.

- Sharon Nickson Cox Past President, Nevada Inventor’s Association, Reno, NV

Just a quick note to say WOW!!! This is one of the most comprehensive presentations on the subject I have ever heard. Some really interesting slants. Some very provocative concepts that I must admit I might not have agreed with before but now do.

– Leo Mazur, President, Inventors Society of South Florida

Thank you for coming to Minnesota to conduct the seminar for Inventors' Network. Since the seminar I have received all nature of enthusiastic comments from our attendees, such as. "Practical information I can put to use right away." "Stephen really helped me on a one to one basis." "Can we get him back here next year?"

I have been starting businesses and inventing for 35 years. Your discussion of "Study The Market Place" gave me a new perspective on the topic. It is true! We can always learn new ways of doing things. I am now studying the market place in a fresh new way.

The day of the seminar, we filled the meeting room to capacity. At the end of the seminar nearly all of the 60 inventors and entrepreneurs, at the event, purchased your inventRight™ home study course. I can speak for the group and tell you all are satisfied with there decision to advance their education and are making continued progress in inventing and marketing their inventions."

Best regards,
Jack Smith, President Inventors' Network

“His stories as a successful inventor himself, as well as the stories of his students and those who he consults with, form the basis of the lessons in One Simple Idea. I don’t recommend all that many books, although I am asked to review many. Without hesitation I recommend Key’s book and think it should be required reading for any motivated inventor.” - Gene Quinn

I wanted to personally thank you for helping to promote our Discovery Day event that took place last week at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The day was a rousing success and exceeded all of our expectations with over 400 submissions and 30 selected inventors who pitched their products to our panel! I have attached a link to a local media news outlet that covered the event to give you a feel for the day.

Click here to see the news segment.

Thanks again for your help in bringing this to the forefront for inventors!

Andy McKinley, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development

Over the past ten years, I’ve enjoyed a positive collaborative alliance with Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss because we share an important basic philosophy: Inventors are America’s most precious natural resource and we must do all we can to support and nurture them.

– Don Kelly, Certified Licensing Professional, Former USPTO Chief of Staff, Champion of Independent Inventors,, IAMA, LLC

Stephen Key was energetic, engaging and informative. His presentation on inventions, patents and licensing was a highlight of our entrepreneur conference.

– Dan Bliss, Co-Founder -

"Our law firm has worked with numerous InventRight's clients and overwhelmingly their experience with InventRight exceeds their expectations. Stephen Key provides inventors with honest and clear advice which is rarely found today. InventRight provides a level of instruction and customer support in the inventing industry that is difficult to find in any other industry."

– Michael Neustel, Neustel Law Offices,

"I have known Stephen and Andrew for many years; having served as a guest speaker at The Bay Area Inventors Alliance on several occasions, and otherwise crossing paths at numerous inventor events around the country. I personally consider the Bay Area IA one of the finest and most vibrant independent inventor organizations in the entire US. Stephen and Andrew are quite knowledgeable in marketing and licensing innovative new products and share a tremendous passion, expressed through their unique InventRight program, for providing up and coming inventors with hard earned education and guidance."

– Warren Tuttle, Monsahee Marketing LLC, President United Inventors Association, New Cannan, CT

Your webiste is spectacular! We will be referring people to it regularly. Marketing is so difficult and independent inventors just don’t know which companies will be receptive, so this is a Godsend.

Barbara Pitts - Ask The Inventors

As an inventor you can spend decades and thousands of dollars maneuvering through the maze of the invention process and never get anywhere or you can work with Stephen Key at Inventright and have a successful, honest, affordable training plan to bring your inventions to market.

Kedma S Ough, MBA, Micro-inventors Program of Oregon, Executive Director

Simply the best resource for any inventor that wants to try to commercialize a product on his or her own. Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss are awesome."

- John Funk, Evergreen IP

"You were among the most effective speakers I have had in twelve years here at UOP. The students gained so much from you. Not only did they learn your keys to success, but several mentioned how refreshing it was to meet someone so successful, yet so enthusiastic and willing to share their ideas with others. I agree!"

- Cynthia Wagner Weick, Ph.D., Professor, Management, Eberhardt School of Business, University of the Pacific

"The Marketplace of Ideas 2010 Event (Fargo, ND) truly was about connecting great ideas and great people. And yes, filled with what I call, "pinch me moments." Pinch me moments (PM2) are situations when I am amazed and cannot actually believe that "it's" happening to me. We've all at some point in our lives have experienced these - PM. Well, mine happened when the keynote speaker, Stephen Key, stopped by to talk with me about Messy Face. Stephen is a licensing expert and inventor - you'll most likely recognize him from the photograph. His questions were very specific and from our conversation he graciously shared a new strategic direction that I had not even thought of for the MFD invention. Seriously. This was a HUGE PM2! Simply priceless..."

– Debra Lindh
Messy Face

"Just wanted to let you know that I plug your radio show and other info to our readership. You and Andrew do a terrific job. I listened to the show about inventor orgs and agree with you. A few attendees speak with the guest speaker after the meeting, but most just leave. I agree that each meeting offers tidbits - not a complete picture of the invent-to-market process. Inventors have to keep coming to meetings to see the big picture. And it is important to like the people at a meeting so that networking occurs. We are trying to encourage more participation and education by inventors because they need a bigger view of the process. Inventors perceive their ideas as filling a need, but they don't see the big picture involving cash flow, distribution, manufacturing and so on. One of the biggest omissions is the business plan.

Also, I agree with what was said in your radio show about inventors fearing anyone who requires money for services. There is a multitude of free assistance in the way of information to help inventors. Many inventors are lazy when it comes to reading and comprehension. They are hands-on instead of mind-on! Since we have many audio-visual tools to educate them, you are wise to use them. I will do my part to tell the readership about the help you offer."

Cathy VerSchneider
Inventors Society of South Florida

"This is personal note from me to say THANKS for an inspirational presentation at the Inventors Society of South Florida. While I have heard most of the things you discussed before in separate places, you packaged it succinctly and delivered it powerfully. I was IMPRESSED because you:

  • Showed attendees how to deliver an effective presentation.
  • Gave each of us one of your Sell Sheets.
  • Educated us on what to do and not to do .
  • Engaged us with interesting examples.
  • Promoted your book.
  • Made the total experience seem effortless.

I am not easily impressed. I enjoyed your presentation very much!"

Cathy VerSchneider
Inventors Society of South Florida

"Thank you for giving South Florida Inventors your attention, enthusiasm and great insights and information today. Your inspirational presentation was unlike any our group has experienced."

Feedback From Students & Others

Stephen spoke at the Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship program. Here is what some of the students had to say...

"I was most struck by your encouragement to not worry about what anyone else thinks about your idea, especially when you're first developing it and experimenting. Approval and support are great, but I can't let the lack of them stop me from at least trying".

Thanks again, Cameron

"Your talk was very motivating — especially at this point in the semester — when everybody seems to be feeling the grind. Thank you for reminding us that entrepreneurship is about having fun. And even more fun, when you work smart. My personal take away from your talk — be bold, dream big and don't hesitate to take the next step because that is where everybody with "genius" ideas falter."

Thanks, Abhi

"I wanted to thank you for speaking with us. I wish you would speak to Acton groups regularly."

"We really enjoyed your talk and multiple people mentioned today what a breath of fresh air it was."

"Thank you for coming to speak to us on Thursday. I'm grateful you came all the way from Modesto to give us so much of your time. You were the best outside speaker we've had come to Acton thus far. You did a good job of engaging us, telling your story without sounding boastful, giving us something we could actually use, and respecting us as peers. What I mean by the last one is that you assumed we already pretty far along our path as successful entrepreneurs, instead of talking down to us. (Some people come and give us advice like "you just gotta work hard" or, even worse, "ramp up your entrepreneurial synergy with a social network profit brand." Say what?) Also, your storytelling and speaking style is fun and captivating."

"I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation despite having heard the content before which says a great deal for your speaking ability.  (I heard nothing but good feedback from others that I spoke with after the meeting as well.)"

Jaime, Austin, TX

"I am so happy I found you. Before I heard of you I spent years coming up with ideas and watching others bring them to market. I read a few books about inventing and just thought the process was overwhelming and expensive. I love your approach and appreciate your knowledge."

– Ann W.

"First, I want to say InventRight has made a marked improvement over the past couple of months. You are truly a leader in the field and bringing vast amounts of pertinent information to the community. I was about to say “in particularly the new directory of companies looking for inventions” but there is nothing in particular to point out that is better then something else. It’s all good and getting better. Well Done!!!"

- Leo M.

I am a "student" of Mr. Key. I've been in the design business for over ten years and I thought I knew all I needed to know. My clients include Sony, Starbucks, L'Oreal, Ralph Lauren and many other big names. However, after taking Stephen's course I learned simple techniques that made all the difference.

With these new learnings I successfully navigated my way through a multi-million licensing deal and my largest one to date. You can view the product IP here:

Not only were the teachings immensely valuable, practical and timesaving but more importantly - they work. I'm now in a second deal that will hopefully be as lucrative as my first. I highly recommend Mr. Key's approach for all inventors and non-inventors.

- Dario Antonioni

I am not currently a student of Stephen's, but he kindly and quickly returned my phone call and was happy to speak with me regarding my new product ideas. He has since referred me to some of his contacts, and I am very grateful for his support and encouragement. His professional approach and commitment to helping others is commendable. Thank you Stephen.

– Maria R

What you and Andrew offer is life changing. The level of confidence and knowledge I've gained from an endless diet of your CD's and lectures have helped me to gain a whole new lease on life in general. I feel like I should pay YOU a royalty for the number of times I've regurgitated your lessons verbatim. Your Inventright process has been the blueprint for many of my own lectures and motivational speeches.

I've enjoyed the best financial year I've ever experienced...ALL due to you, Andrew Krauss (the unsung hero), and the InventRIGHT process.

To date, the Inventright CD set has been the best purchase of my professional career, bar none.

- Tony A.

Thanks again for YOUR support. What I've gained from you and Andrew is greater confidence, realistic expectations and how to inexpensively protect intellectual property - huge benefits!

- Dave B.

I believe Stephen is genuinely giving back to an industry that has treated him well and my experience with Stephen has been more then I would ever have expected when I bought the system – I believe I got much more then just some experience guidance from the InventRight system, I’ve got a mentor in Stephen Key!

- Robert L.

I am very greatful for both you and Andrew. And I tell you, I always remember one thing that you said in a tele-seminar (sometime last year) "And when a company gives you a call back, give me a call...." I believed that you were really interested in my success, and wanted to know about it ! So I am going to hold you to that................ and I look forward to making that call !

- Dave D.

My name is Aphrodite and I am one of Stephen Key's students. I must say that as someone who was searching for advice and direction as to how to go about bringing my product from an idea to the market place, I have accomplished much more than I imagined.

I not only learned how to bring my product to the market place in a step by step process, but I also gained the confidence to do what I thought was next to impossible for the average 'Joe" like me. Through guidance and direction from both Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss, I was able to reach PRESIDENTS of companies giving me opportunities to present my ideas first hand to the top people. This has led me to not only move forward in my endeavor and dreams, but also it has given me a more open mind to continue to create more ideas and go after them as I never would have done prior to my experience with the Invent Right system I know now that because of this affordable available avenue that I took advantage of, I WILL one day be a successful inventor.

- Aphrodite

I just attended my first ‘in-person’ seminar with Stephen and Andrew. I got up at 4:30am to drive 2+ hours (and I got lost!) to attend. I was NOT dissapointed in any way- In fact, having bought Mr. Key’s program a few months ago, I have yet to fully utilize it (family issues). The first day I received it, I only read a few pages before I called the 800 # and personally told Andrew that he and Mr. Key’s weren’t asking enough for the program. After the seminar, I was even more impressed with Mr. Key’s and Andrew’s integrity. It was a delightful expierence sitting through the entire seminar. They didn’t make a penny more off of me. I did get even more valuable information and Mr. Key’s personal cell # (which I haven’t yet called). I think Mr. Key has a sincere and true calling and told him so.

- Angela M.

Saturday, I received yet ANOTHER royalty check, and I am a student who has used Mr. Key’s methods. I have definitely made money from my ideas and am well into the black. No, it isn’t millions yet but, because I took the time to be educated by Mr. Key, I now have the knowledge required to make money from my ideas and it’s up to me to utilize what I learned and turn it into more profits. Stephen Key provided me with an education that is worth so much more than the measly amount I paid for his course. He is a gifted educator and what I have learned as one of his students has changed my life and the way I approach business immensely.

- Linda P.

Your support via phone is great! and when I do come across the right idea… I’ll be ready to seize the opportunity. Thanks for making the path to inventing a little clearer for me Stephen and Andrew.

- Justin F.

Stephens advice has been practical, informative and useful. I’m licensing my get out of debt financial software to several companies and everything is moving forward. I used his principles that he taught me to get to where I am now. It’s hard work to get a product to market, His advice provided much needed help and advice.

- Abe D.

I own a successful training company in Belgium and so for professional purposes I have bought countless educational materials. But, few have impressed me as much as Mr. Key’s course, which is practical, full of relevant tips and worth it’s money in my opinion. My goal wasn’t to become an inventor, but Mr. Key’s course has enhanced my inventiveness for sure and I am sure my significant revenue increase (I doubled my revenue) in times of economical down-turn, is partly due to the inspiration I found in Mr. Key’s course.

- Sarah C.

Every time I call, I speak personally to Andrew or Stephen. I have scheduled phone appointments and have been surprised everytime with how much time they have spent with me. I believe that Stephen is teaching what he has actually done, and that he would help me personally during my own attempts. I feel that I now have real world information that will allow me to license my own ideas.

- Robert M.

I sent off for my first inventor submission packet when I was 11years old. Even at that age I knew how to spot a cock of hooey.

When a national retailer suggested that I license my invention to a manufacturer with a full product line I had to learn how. My search turned up Stephen Key. His advice sounded great! But, he was selling a course so I discredited it.

I engaged a manufacturer and got in way over my head. Desperate, I called Stephen Key who gave me irrefutably good advice. I realized not even my trusted patent attorney had given advice as profitable. It was that realization that made me purchase the course.

As a student (customer as you say) Stephen coached me through my first licensing deal. He helped me to see and walk away from a potentially bad deal and into the perfect deal. He gave me the confidence to stand my ground through conference calls with the CEO and CFO of a major manufacturer, something I desperately lacked. He helped me realize my life long dream of becoming a successful inventor.

Have I made millions? Not yet, but I have saved thousands. I got guaranteed royalties on my first deal thanks to Stephen so I’m in the black and the ink’s not even dry yet. I’m now embarking on another invention and I’m excited to do it the Inventright way. More than that, I’m excited to work with Stephen again.

- Dennis V.

I have purchased the Inventright course, and think it is one of the BEST investments I have ever made. The information in the first chapter is worth more than the cost of the course.

- Norm H.

I have spent thousands of dollars patenting and hiring marketing companies, and my wheels just kept right on spinning. Until one day I was HONORED to hear Mr. keys speak at the Minnesota Inventors Congress, man I thought he was great!! I called Stephen two times after that day to see if it was all talk or if I really meant anything to him. He returned one and Andrew returned the other call answering all the questions I had. I bought the Invent Right package and became a STUDENT, learning as much as I possibly could about how to bring an idea to the market place. I would recommend Invent Right to everybody. Money well spent!! THANKS STEPHEN AND ANDREW!!

- Patrick

I have been dealing with inventRight for about three years now. I just called them up one say and start asking question about how to get a product to market. I spoke with Andrew Krauss at the time. Mr. Krauss answered my question although he knew I was not a student. Well, I figured he answered that question with no problem. So, I continued calling and asking question, and they would help me. I did this for almost a year before becoming a student of inventRight. Neither Stephen or Andrew rejected me. They would always answer me with respect and kindness. That showed me a lot about inventRight. It showed me inventRight was a honest company with integrity. That;s why I became a student. I knew some things about marketing, but after becoming a student of Stephen and Andrew (inventRight), I have companies viewing my products. A company is viewing a prototype of mine right now and considering licensing it. They have it on their sale’s floor for people to view. inventRight is a program that works! You know that’s what God requires of ALL of us, HONESTY and INTEGRITY.

- Vesta A.

As a new InventRight student, I paid for the service not only for the materials and online courses, but for the access to experienced inventors. The ability and luxury to call and have Stephen or Andrew pick up the phone directly over the course of the next year. There is no magic course or secret book that can make someone successful in this business, we gather information from a multitude of places and rely on our own desire, abilities, and advice–and for advice, among other cources, I have chosen Stephen and Andrew.

I made the purchase of Mr. Key’s CD’s. Mr. Key was gracious, friendly and honest. He allowed me to make monthly installments as I did not have he funds available to me at once. With an offer of a refund if I wasn’t fully satisfied.

I listened to the CD’s and was having trouble personally actualizing the process, at that time I was able to call and get advice from Mr. Key to improve my technique. However nearly simulataneously I was laid off from my job at Caterpillar and I realised the techniques didn’t meet well with my skill set. Mr. Key at that point refunded me my payment(s) without delay or hinderance. I am pleased with my treatment and am willing and eager to recommend him to anyone who is interedted in trying to get there thought to market.

I purchased “Invent Right” from Stephen Key about a year ago and found it extremely valuable. My husband and I even had a telephone conference with Andrew which lasted about an hour. We learned alot about the process and the information we gained will stay with us for future ideas and inventions. I think they’re doing a great job with what they offer.

- Pam F.

I willingly paid the price of the course not only because of the information contained but the one-on-one help provided by Stephen and Andrew. That alone, from people who’ve successfully made money licensing products is worth ten times the price of the course.

- Jeff

I have a patent pending product that I am in the process of licensing and have purchased the InventRight program to aid in that process. I have over fifteen years of sales experience in the medical diagnotics market but needed a quick education on the basics of how to structure a licensing agreement. My experience with the program and with the prompt and efficient support from both Andrew and Stephen has been very positive and productive. I have found both Andrew and Stephen to be very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I am another satisfied customer.

- Suzanne S.

Stephen and his associate, Andrew Krauss are truly a couple of the “good guys” in this inventing business.

- Dan M.

I have been a student of Mr. Key’s for three months now, and have studied the material thoroughly. I was attracted to the idea of licensing my inventions since manufacturing myself would cost ten to one hundred times more money. I would not be able to bring my product to market. Steve and Andrew provide many people like me with the opportunity to get our ideas to the consumers. We need consumers to get excited about new products, so sales go up and the economy turns around. Compared to what it would cost me to bring my products to market, the money that Steve charges is a great alternative. Sure I can buy many how-to books for the price, but I would not get the personal coaching that Steve and Andrew provide.

"If you have an idea...

and want to take it to market and don’t know how pick up the phone or get online and purchase Stephen Key’s InventRight program, trust me you are getting more then the wealth of useful information from his program you actually get “the man” himself and his professional and customer service friendly staff.  I’m as skeptical as the next person buying “How to” programs that promise you the moon – InventRight makes good on all of its promises and then goes the extra mile.

The InventRight program guided my co-inventors and me all the way through product development, patent pending and research on who to contact to bring our idea to market.  Then we hit a wall and needed some advice. I hesitated calling, Stephen because I didn’t think his claim of “call me with any questions” was real – well it was very real.  When I called Stephen and asked for his advice, his first words were, “Why did you take so long to call me?!”

Since then, Stephen and James his assistant have gone beyond the call of duty to help us and have been the consummate professionals.  They have personally helped us navigate through a very large company and get to the right people to set our “product idea” in motion for licensing.  Without the InventRight system and more importantly, Stephen’s guidance from his years of experience, we would not be where we are today with our product.

My partners and I can’t thank Stephen and his team at InventRight enough.  Stephen offered us more then just good advice and opening doors – he mentored us.  A mentor every inventor needs!"

"If you've ever considered inventing something for the marketplace, if your creativity leads you in this direction, then I strongly recommend that you seek the advice, coaching and mentorship from Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss of InventRight. I was fortunate enough to be recommended to them by both a highly reputable patent attorney as well as the Sunnyvale Patent Library. The InventRight system, along with their availability, their connections and their passionate enthusiasm to help you move ahead with your project…these guys rock! InventRight is the real deal for all of you product developers out there. Stephen's successfully licensed dozens of products for the marketplace and has created a solid reputation for himself. He is one of the coolest mentors and guides that I've ever worked with. He will help you figure out the right strategy to get your product licensed with the right manufacturer. These guys will coach you through the process of ‘getting into the game!’ And it's not that tough to get into the game! They offer a great mix of encouragement and no b.s. advice, step by step. They work with you to get to the next step, including providing you with invaluable connections and the insight as to what to expect when you're there and what to do to keep progressing forward. They know this game, they’ve been through this and know how it works. You can tell when you talk to them! Running their program, I’m now more determined than ever to win and secure our first licensing agreement, then the next, then the next, then the next."

"I consider Stephen Key to be the father of product development. He has developed a wealth of knowledge on bringing a product to market, and is eager to share his expertise with those who have a strong desire to learn. It is no surprise that Stephen is as successful as he is. I could never thank him enough for all that he has taught me. Stephen Key is a mentor to me and has consulted with me on all steps of licensing a product many times over. Each time I have called he has answered both my calls and my questions. I remember the first time I spoke with Stephen over a year ago following a teleseminar where he actually gave his number out. I was very hesitant to call but by the end of the day I grew enough courage to speak with The Stephen Key. He told me I was the only person who actually called in all day! I had so many questions and he patiently listened to them and then answered them all. I am 22 years old and I have learned more through Stephen's guidance and inventRight program about patenting, licensing, selling and talking with upper level employees than I have my last four years at college or ever. At times it has been stressful, overwhelming and depressing this licensing game but with every returned email or call there is that indescribable rush of excitment of closing the deal. Frost said it best, "two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by and that has made all the difference." Thank you for all the encouragement and information Stephen."

"I recently purchased the invent right program and I highly recommend it. They have 1st hand experience and are eager to help. They are more helpful than I expected. Everyone one else I spoke with wants thousands of dollars upfront and a percent of any royalties. These guys are helpful, cheap and don't want future payments. If you have an idea, let them help. Mistakes will cost you in this industry. You can talk with them before you buy about anything. They are very accessable and will lay out the process very simply."

I purchased the InventRight “10 Steps to Invention Success” program while attending one of our local Minnesota Inventors Networks training seminars about a year and a half ago. Stephen was the guest speaker for the day, and presenting his material for all who attended. His down to earth ability to communicate with the group made it a very enjoyable day of learning and networking. Stephen Key is the “Real Deal”

Since purchasing the program, I have had the privilege to talk with both Stephen and InventRight co-founder Andrew Krauss about various projects and topics, and have found both of them very helpful and accessible. Stephen and the InventRight Team is first class in my book. The InventRight System is very helpful and easy to follow. I highly recommend both experienced and first time inventors purchase this program. If your interested in fast tracking your ideas, this is the product for you. This is an extremely helpful resource.

Go get it!

Money well spent from my perspective.

Inventing is a way of life for me, make it yours as well.

If there are others who have a bit of doubt as to whether or not they should use the system headed by Stephen Key then I would say go for it! The system will show you great ways to get your ideas for new consumer products to be evaluated and considered in the actual marketplace. Being a student under the inventRight system will baby step you through to become confident to take the appropriate avenues to succeed with your idea, even if you are starting out without any experience at all.

Personally, I started this past July in 2008 and since then have made many submissions with the products and ideas that have been lingering around my head for years. The best thing is that it shows you how to go after these ideas without a great deal of financial risk because, let's face it; not everyone has the money to dip into financing new inventions with the high cost of patent searches and applications themselves.

You can even go on youtube and find some success stories from Stephen Key's method if you just type his name in.

I'll give you a good example of the aid that they offer:
I, like many others, have questions pertaining to the product that I am pursuing, so, I gave Stephen a call to ask him a few questions. Upon the first call, he was there ready to openly discuss and answer any question that I had about the product and how to go about it. We spent about a half an hour discussing different topics and aspects that I was unsure of. Not only that, but he also offered great personal insight to the design of the product itself, ideas about it that I hadn't thought of, techniques to further protect the product, and even sent over a list of companies with contact information for each company that fell into the category that my product is in.

How can you beat that?

inventRight is interested in getting these ideas to spark and for their students to take charge and succeed with their products. They take a personal interest to anyone that is there with questions. I highly recommend them to anyone who thinks that they have a good idea.

Keep up the good work!

I have attended one of Stephen Key’s seminars and purchased the DREAM INVENT SUCCEED book and CD that covers the “10 Steps To Invention Success” I will tell you it was the BEST MONEY SPENT.

Product Developing, Inventing, Patenting, and Licensing, has been my life, and I have made $Millions …YOU CAN TOO!!!

Eugene (Gene) L.

I bought the Inventright kit about a month ago, and I gotta tell you, I couldn't be happier. The cd's are very informative, a great starting point especially for the first-time inventor like myself, but the real value lies in the year of free phone calls you get for no extra charge. As Stephen walks you through the process on the CD's, if you're confused about anything at all, you can simply pick up the phone and call Stephen and Andrew.

...And that's another thing, you actually get Stephen and Andrew. The first time I called, I left a message and received a return call that same evening at 9:30 PM EST from Andrew, which turned into an extremely informative 20 minute conversation in which Andrew critiqued and helped me to improve my sell sheet, as well as giving me clear and concise directions as to what specifically I should do next. The second time I called I got Stephen himself.

Stephen and Andrew really take the fear out of the whole process, which seemed daunting, if not insurmountable before I bought the kit.

If I added up all the money I paid in commission splits to senior agents and greedy brokerages to learn the ins and outs of becoming a successful NYC real estate agent, my current job, it would easily reach into the tens of thousands of dollars, if not more.

For what Stephen and Andrew give you in value, not to mention the countless hours and money I would have almost certainly wasted fumbling my way blindly in the dark, flying by the seat of my pants, believe me...four hundred dollars is quite literally nothing.

Thank You Stephen and Andrew. You are truly doing a beautiful thing.

Be Well,

A. Haven

Let me tell you a story. In 1995 I invented my first product, I had it patented. Now I'm off the ground! WRONG! I sent the product to manufacturiers, I talked to president of companies, I even spoke to a few CEO's. One president of a major company said to me " If we make your product, what will we do with all those in our warehouse". You see, my product would elimate theirs. I was so hurt, I I put inventing down for a few years. In 2003, I decided to give it another shot. I invented two Christian board games, had them patented. I even developed one of the games in my home and sold to church members and family. I decided to call some game companies, and got rejected again. I left messages and no one returned my call. Disappointed again, I stop inventing. Well, in 2006, I invented a product for plastic bags. I wrote a letter to the president of the company. WOW! A guy from their engineering department called me and said they were interested in my product. I was excited, to excited. He said the company wanted to buy all rights, meaning my patent. Well, with no experience, I said OK. He asked me how much, and I said you make an offer. Well, he offered 10,000.00, I said nothing less than 25,000.00. He told me he had to speak to the president about that offer. He called me the next day and said they will only pay 20,000.00. I said OK, thinking I would lose out on the deal. I got SCREWED! To cut my story short (smile), here it is 2008 and I still have 4 patents on my wall. In September 2008, I listen to Stephen Key tapes, talking about sell sheets, and how to get your feet in the door. I never heard of a sell sheet. But, after listening to Stephen Key CD's I relized I was doing everything wrong. I started doing what Stephen Key said to do. I had some sell sheets make and founf companies that related to my product, and start calling. This time I ask to speak to marketing. I gave my one liner sell pitch. Believe it or not, I have 9 companies viewing my products right NOW! Stephen Key WORKS!

Although I haven't bought the course, I am hoping to win it one day! I am a member of the InventRight forums, have listened to many excellent teleseminars, and did order the Patent Wizard software (for filing PPA's), and it is excellent! Stephen and Andrew know their stuff, and they are always available for any questions you might have.

I bought the inventright system and was pleasantly surprised at the simple, no-nonsense, approach to inventing. The advice is easy to follow and shows you how to get your ideas from your head to potential licensers for minimal cost. Inventright already saved me a bundle by encouraging me to make my own prototypes as opposed to looking for expensive professional alternatives. But best of all is knowing that you can speak to the authors themselves -- I've spoken with both of them, and just being able to brainstorm for 20 - 30 minutes helped me immensely -- I can't wait to tell them about the changes I made based on their advice.

What others are saying...

Hi Stephen. My name is Sef and I'm an Advertising student at Art Center College of Design. Gotta'say, I'm quite flattered to see my school mentioned in your book, but I did have a little moment of sadness after being reminded that I'm out $200,000+ because of tuition. That's all right though, I think it as more of an investment, as it should be. Well anyways, I literally just finished reading your book, One Simple Idea, and I had to give you some major kudos on how awesome this book was. In the middle of reading your book, I've had a bit of an "A-Ha!" moment: Us design students obviously design "stuff" — Product Designers design Products, Transportation Designers designs all things transportations, etc., but us Advertising students design ideas, which usually comes out in the form of ad. Since we spend so much time concepting and designing ideas, it is very easy to come up with ideas that are not even ad related, and I think licensing ideas is a great outlet for us to see our non-ad related ideas being produced while making some cash at the same time. After reading your book, I have decided to make it goal to license at least 3 products before I finish this semester, and I plan on taking up licensing as a passion / personal project while I continue to my advertising career. It would be great to have you come back down to Pasadena and to do another talk with us Art Center students. I'm currently in the works of putting together an ADtrepreneur workshop with one of our Entrepreneurial teachers and Advertising Department Chair. It would be amazing if you can join in on it too. With that said, thank you for putting this book and your other resources together! I am extremely excited to start licensing and pursuing an entrepreneurial path. If I have any questions about my licensing ventures, I'll make sure to reach out to you.

"Thanks Stephen. You are a mentor to all of us. One of my biggest moments on American Inventor was having the opportunity to learn from you. You're the real deal and I'm grateful to pass on what you continue to teach through your books, blogs, workshops and Vlogs.
Continue to have the best day ever! Much joy!"

As a product developer, I have usually handled everything on my own. I'm just starting to adjust to going to the site every time I need something, from sell-sheet templates, to elance designers. It is such a luxury to not have to "reinvent the wheel" for each step. Thank you for all of the resources!

Thank you also for the sense of community. Good to be immersed in a culture that understands my crazy passion for product development.

Kind regards,

I wanted to take a moment to let you know that how grateful I am for what you have done for me. Since I got to have the privilege of being your student, I truly believe that you are different than most people in this industry; You sincerely enjoy helping lost, confused, overwhelmed independent product developers (inventors)!
You are knowledgeable, resourceful and always available to guide us in the right direction; I just wish I knew you a few years ago before I made so many mistakes!!!
I pray for a day that the world would be filed with people like you, helping each other for the sake of pure enjoyment...
Forever grateful,
Your student, Zoya

I met with you approximately a year ago in Minneapolis, I introduced my product to you.  I did license the product and will be in stores in three weeks, just after the holidays, next Christmas.  It iwill be in Bed Bath & Beyond, Menards and a global pet show in February.  I took a lot of your advice and want to say thank you.

– Jeff

After months of research and consideration, I finally took that step and just received the InventRight System last week. I knew it would be a good investment, but I had no idea how extensive the information would be! In addition to getting the printed materials, you also get the audio CDs and the Resource CD. So whether you're a visual or an auditory learner, they've got you covered!

The initial cost might put some people off, but honestly, when you compare the initial investment with what a typical 4-year college costs, it's a drop in the bucket. Why compare the two? Because you're not only getting an education, you're getting direct access to a teacher and a mentor. And for me, that was the kicker. To know that I can read the information, put it into practice, and if I'm ever stuck or need further clarification, Andrew and Stephen are just a phone call or e-mail away.

So, yeah, I HIGHLY recommend using the InventRight system if you're serious about taking your ideas and actually making money from them. Save yourself the heartache (and financial headache) of making your own way. Follow in the footsteps of a successful product developer and make your dreams a reality!

I am a currently student of the inventright system by Stephen Key.

I have been a hobby inventor since childhood (30 plus years now) and doing it professionally has been my life long dream. Only now do I have the resources and teachers that allow me to commercialize my inventions, and I'm doing it while living in Japan!

I have not yet commercialized my first invention, but I did get into about 15 ish companies with it.

Most declined , some said "not now", and that I was welcome to contact them again in the future with my current or other ideas. Two, I am still getting past the gatekeepers.

I have moved onto my second invention and will be approaching companies this or next week with it.

The inventright system WORKS. It's simple enough that I read it in one day, and understood most of it immediately.

It's a no B.S. system and it does teach you to get through to REAL people in REAL companies, I got into 2 or three companies the first day I tried.

The GOLD of the system is the support. I have phoned Andrew, repeatedly and Stephen once, every time they gave me the advice I needed to move to the next step, feedback or advice as to what to do in my specific situation.

I borrowed the money to buy this system and made a deal with my friend/lender to repay them with a royalty share or their original investment plus interest just to get it 3 months earlier than I otherwise could have. This was a great decision for both of us:-)

I will be renewing my call-in support membership with Stephen and Andrew in February whether I have a commercialized invention by then or not because I KNOW their advice can only make future invention commercialization's easier and more successful.

Understand that I am the kind of guy who either condemns a product for not delivering on their promise, or praises the few who do, I couldn't recommend this product or company highly enough.

If you get it, read it and TAKE ACTION on their advice, success is a matter of when and how determined you are not IF. I fully expect to be a full time professional inventor before the end of 2009 or sooner.

"I just wanted to take a minute and thank you (again) for all your help and support. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate what you do.

It's so refreshing to be able to speak with someone who has been on the front line and still truly remembers what it was like to be starting out... with little money, growing debt, tight margins, but BIG ideas. Many successful people claim to remember those early days, yet still seem to insist on staking heavy claims in return for their help.

It's a rare thing to find someone like you who has been so successful, yet still willing to selflessly shed some light for a fellow traveler. That, to me, is what I truly consider "success" in life and that is exactly the kind of person I want to be. Thank you for inspiring me and letting me know that it is possible."

Ray T.

"First of all I just wanted to let you know that I am now an official Inventright student and I can only say how pleased I am with all the information I am learning!

I know that this is probably covered in the inventright course, but I am just so happy with myself...for doing the PPA and making a contact...I called and spoke with them! It works! Ok, I confess I had kinda lost hope and had entered my product into a contest and when I got a Red X and then remembering what you told me and your comments about my product I realized that I had given the wrong people power over my most valuable creativity...NO More Contest! It takes too long anway!"

Meri M.

I discovered Stephen and Andrew through Tim Ferriss' website on the Four Hour Work Week.

My first reaction was excitement, then skepticism that their claims where true or possible.

After some careful consideration I decided to take the plunge , BUT I didn't have the cash at that time to even afford the course!! I had the choice of waiting another two or three months OR get creative, so I got creative, since inventing has been my lifelong dream.

I decided to email EVERYONE I had ever had email contact with and make them an offer, you pay for the course and get a share of the first royalty for a year, or I pay you back with simple interest plus principle, BUT I get up to 10 years to pay it.

The cost was small but I knew 2 things, one, I would commercialize a product within a year, and that I didn't want to even consider needing to pay it back during the process.

One wise and dear friend stepped up and emailed me telling me the course was on it's way to me in Japan!!

When I received it I read the whole thing in one day, and realized that the process and ideas where very simple anyone can do this, and certainly I could too.

I am writing this months after I received it, and I'm most of the way there, this week or next I will be calling U.S. manufacturers about my first of many products!!!

I have called Andrew many times and he was always positive and encouraging, yet still told me what I needed to hear, and when I needed to change something.

The process took me much longer than I expected, but I am located in Japan, and don't have a credit card both of which made arranging many simple transactions a major issue.

Just so you understand what this process means to me, I have been inventing my entire life, one day I was talking on the phone with my mother and said "Mom I remember trying to make a robot in grade 2, when do you first remember me taking apart toys to see how they worked, and trying to invent things?"

Her answer..."As far back as I can remember."

I had been fooled into believing you first had to get a patent (by "experts"), then proceed with becoming a success as an inventor, so I resolved I FIRST had to be rich to live out this dream.

Stephen and Andrew have showed me a real process, that really does work, and really is as simple as they say it is. Their support of my efforts has been as exceptional as their product. I am the sort of customer who is very demanding. I am the first to condemn any product that fails to deliver on it's promises and I enthusiastically endorse any product that actually delivers what it promises. The invent right course has exceeded my very high expectations as has Andrew who has given me sound and timely advice more times than I can count.

Thank you Stephen and Andrew you have redefined my life, and put me days from living a lifelong dream.

P.S. Some day when I'm rich because of my inventing I'd like to fly to California and take both of you to dinner :-)

Tim G. (Canadian, resident in Japan 41 years old)

"My name is Karen Hopkins. I'm a waitress, stay-at-home mom and now a product developer. The inventRight system works. It worked for me and it can work for anyone. The system breaks each step into simple easy to follow directions. I was surprised by how much I learned during the whole process. Not only the knowledge that I've gained about the retail market place, but about myself and the confidence I've gained.

The stories and samples that Stephen shares are so helpful. Any time I had a question I just picked up the phone, and believe me I did call. Once, when I was doing my 1st patent search I got stuck so I called. The inventRight guys are so nice, helpful and encouraging. They gave me some ideas to try and they worked. Along the entire product developing process I knew anytime I had any question all I had to do was pick up the phone. Stephen really walked me through the whole process. He really seems to enjoy passing his knowledge on and watching you succeed.

The inventRight system is a GREAT tool with a wonderful support system. All you need to do is roll up your sleeves and take a chance.

Believe in your product and believe in yourself. Yes, you can!"

Good luck & Happy Inventing

P.S. Guess who just sent a sell sheet to a fortune 500 company? That would be ME!

"Though I didn"t purchase the "inventRight" Program Andrew told me about, I did come away with some very insightful new direction and information. He honestly evaluated my situation, gave me some appropriate tips, and directed me into the next areas to pursue. Thank you!"

Rich M.

I bought the InventRight system and was pleasantly surprised at its
simplicity and common sense approach; it gave me utmost confidence that I,
too, can get at least some of the ideas I have in my head into the market
place. But the best part is having experts to talk to, both Stephen Key and
Andrew Krauss helped me immensely. It¹s nice to know I can pick up the phone and call them when I¹m uncertain about something.

Sharon G.

I received my free phone call from Andrew Krauss last week before the
Holiday. He answered my questions and gave some more great advice. In a time of voice mail and other impersonal services it was really nice to talk with someone who cares and shares their knowledge. I look forward to buying the CD's as I know there will be even more value added information contained in them. Thank you.

Micah A.

After listening to Stephen Key CD'S about sell sheets and calling companies.
In October, I called, and now 9 companies are viewing my products. Thanks!

Vesta A.

"I recently became aware of inventRight and its products and services. I purchased the home study material and found its contents easy to understand and extremely helpful.

I recently spoke with Andrew Krauss (inventRight's Co-Founder), who took a lengthy time to speak about the course and answered some specific questions I had about my first patent application. I thanked him for providing such an excellent service and I really meant it.

If you are an inventor and overwhelmed by the process of inventing and marketing your idea, this is a great place to get the help you need."

Aaron Sadat
Dublin, CA

"The inventRight course is essential for anyone with an idea or invention. Stephen and Andrew have opened up my eyes to the power of licensing and the essentials to making a deal for a new product. I would be swimming upstream if it wasn't for their course.

As a marketing consultant for the past 15 years, I thought I knew it all. But I highly recommend (5 stars) this course to even some of you who think you know it all. I will be able to submit my products to large corporations with confidence now. Also, Andrew is like my personal invention consultant.

Honestly, I don't understand why he helps so much. But he does. And that's our gain. He is always there to answer questions and help me along the way. I don't see how I will be a successful inventor without him and Stephen."

Andrew Grinbaum
New York, NY

"I just want to say thank you for being available to answer my many questions and providing guidance as I move through my journey to becoming a successful inventor.

The inventRight home study course has given me a shot at bringing my invention from a vision to the marketplace in easy to follow steps. Not only has the home study course given me much needed guidance that really works, it has also given me the motivation and the wherewithal to contact potential licensees and to get results all within my financial means.

Thanks again, and I will let you know when I license my first invention, but guess what I am working on others in the meantime because of what I learned as an inventRight student."

Deborah Monden, Fridley, MN

"I have an invention relating to shoes. I am currently in negotiations with a major shoe manufacturer which loves my idea.

I came to inventRight for a good stiff kick in the pants and I got it! I had been bogged down with one particular invention for 2 years and not been open to working on others. Had I not heeded your advice and submitted several ideas to various companies (since I had them) I'd STILL be waiting for my first product to pay off!"

Thanks Stephen!
Margy P.

"I've been to several inventor seminars over the last 20 years, and, for most of the last year, I've been working at selling my inventions full time. The InventRight seminar is the best inventor's seminar I've taken. The seminar presents practical information on how to approach this business professionally, and how to do what it takes to get products licensed.

Unlike some seminars, once you are there, you never feel like Stephen is trying to sell you something, or hype anything. He is simply sharing his wealth of experiences and leading you through the process. It definitely helped me to quickly get licensing opportunities rolling. Great stuff !!!"

Scott P.

"Your approach has forced me to reexamine my entire process. I like to think that I'm pretty knowledgeable about this stuff since I have a masters degree in product design from Stanford University, worked at IDEO and I've built a company around one of my inventions. But despite all that and my dealings with all sorts of designers over the past 10 years your approach hit me like a breath of fresh air."

Steen Strand
Inventor & Graduate of Stanford School Of Design

"He (Stephen) makes a difficult process seem simple. From the lively discussion, it was apparent that the audience was completely engaged. Several participants commented on how much they learned from Stephen's presentation. One of the most wonderful aspects of the seminar was experiencing his genuine interest in sharing his success with other inventors."

Peter Warhit
Patent & Trademark Librarian

"Again, congratulations and thanks for a great seminar. I think you were successful in jarring our thinking about what we are doing and inspiring us to go for greater achievement.

It seemed to me somewhat paradoxical that, while you were deflating our notions that our pet ideas are unique and marvelous, you were also inspiring us to be more prolific and to discover our power to make deals with the "big" guys.

What also struck me was your confidence and sincere desire that all your students learn. A true educator if I have ever seen one... More power to you as you continue exploring ways to enable this learning process."

"I wanted to write and thank you for imparting your knowledge this past weekend. It came at a very opportune time in my inventing career and taught me how to throw away some of the misconceptions I had acquired from other seminars and speakers. Your ability to keep the material interesting , is rare and should be applauded, and your real world experiences really cut through the BS and taught us how a creative mind can also be a profitable one."

"Stephen's willingness to share his background (both failures and successes) and his 10-step process helped us to learn to test the waters with our products before applying for full-blown patents. Additionally, following his advice on the one sentence description and the simple process of creating sell sheets won us prime time in sales meetings of some top manufacturers. But most of all, Stephen's continued guidance (post-seminar) as we negotiate a contract with one of the companies we have been courting has been invaluable. Sign up for an inventRight seminar - you'll learn the "10 Easy Steps" to a more interesting, fulfilling life."

"After many years of working on our toy stilts trying different ideas to get our stilts perfected we became indecisive. During the past 4 years we have attended many, many seminars from Manteca, Santa Rosa, Foster City, and Santa Clara. We finally discovered the inventRight seminars with Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss.

Stephen inspired us with the many past experiences that he had and gave us the mental tools that turned us around and set our thinking in the right direction. Stephen's positive attitude, inspiration and continuing help has given us the encouragement to contact the toy company's that could help us. We contacted the Wham-O toy and Razor toy companies.

We did make good contacts at both companies and both considered our stilts very carefully, but because of other commitments, they were unable to commit to any production until the 2006 time period. At this point we finally located a smaller independent toy company looking for a marketable toy product. The company has produced excellent prototypes that have improved our toy stilts.

My brother and I were invited to attend the New York Toy Fair and we were inspired by the many orders that were placed for our toy stilts. At this point production has begun and we are expecting a container of our toy stilts to be delivered from Hong Kong by the middle of summer.

At the inventRight Holiday Party, this past Christmas Season, my brother and I met Stephens's wife and were very impressed with the help and hard work that she provided throughout the evening. Stephens's wife did work for the Gallo Family and us knowing the late Julio and Aileen Gallo and how hard they worked together reminds us how both families work together.

Stephen Key is the most informative, knowledgeable, inspiring, and helpful speaker and person that we have had the privilege to meet and know. Once again thank you Stephen Key for all your help and inspiration."
