SoapSox - Lori Greiner And Robert Herjavec of Shark Tank Offer $1 Million For SoapSox.
"As a designer and a creative person, I’ve always had great ideas. But I never thought to even consider developing these ideas into real products myself because I have always felt it was beyond my reach. That all changed when I met Stephen and his SpinLabel technology. After collaborating with him on a couple of Disney projects, he opened my eyes to possibilities I never thought was within my grasp. He as changed my trajectory and has been a huge inspiration, a supportive friend, and a great mentor ever since. Reading his books has changed my life and perspective. You can say, his “One Simple Idea” books have been like a bible to me… especially now. His books gave me the motivation I needed to explore beyond my boundaries.
I’ve recently developed a product called “SoapSox” that was featured on ABC’s Shark Tank Season 6. Stephen was, in fact, our “phone a friend” lifeline as my business partner and I swam with the Sharks during our pitch. From product development, sourcing, to structuring licensing deals, or even as a sounding board for creative ideas for SoapSox… He has been a guiding light every single step of the way. I can honestly say Stephen has been an instrumental “Key” to my success.
Thanks again for everything, Stephen! You’re the best!!"

"I wish I had been introduced to Stephen Key and his course, inventright when I began my journey of bringing my idea to market. I would have avoided costly mistakes such as hiring business consultants, business coaches and marketing firms to name a few. The world of innovation is masqueraded with glamour and misleading “You can do it, too!” services, courses, books and conferences. But Stephen Key’s inventright course is the real deal!
I have been thrilled with the support I have received from Stephen! His years of experience, critical and strategic thinking, attention to detail, introductions to a network of attorneys and coaching calls have been nothing less than phenomenal. With Stephen’s coaching, I am confident that my product, The Wizor® will soon be on store shelves nationwide.
I highly recommend taking his course and learning firsthand how to really take your idea from concept to reality! It’s the best investment I have made!"

Having spent the last 11 years doing everything the hard way, I can certainly appreciate the methods that you’re teaching. It was definitely a learning process for me. While the Flipout Screwdriver definitely falls outside the norm in that it required lots of expensive prototyping to get it to the proof of concept phase, I am definitely going to be using more of the inventright concepts on my next project (this one falls into the toy category... super excited). Just wanted to commend you on the great job you’re doing for the inventor community. Andrew and Stephen are a great team, and I’m constantly learning new things from you guys. Keep up the great work!

inventright Student Steve Katsaros has built an incredible company and program using the tools he learned from inventright. Stephen will interview Steve soon to learn more about his story. Watch for that interview coming soon. In the mean time, here is a little information about Steve and his program.
A mechanical engineer with a penchant for competitive ski racing, Steve Katsaros began his colorful career with the invention of several commercial products for the ski industry. His first brush with “impact inventing” came in 2002 with RevoPower, a motorized wheel for bicycles. In early 2010, he came up with another bright idea – a simple, portable solar light bulb with the potential to revolutionize life for the 1.4 billion people in the world who live without access to electricity. Five months after his first sketch, Steve launched Nokero, a for-profit company with a mission to provide affordable solar technology solutions for off-grid communities around the world.

inventright is a company that truly wants to see you succeed. Stephen and Andrew together are a powerhouse of expertise! The course materials, webinars and one on one coaching are first class! Much like anything you do in life you get out what you put in. If you are willing to put in the time and work hard these guys can save you time, money and heartache by helping you to understand the steps necessary to have the greatest chance for success!
inventright has an awesome database full of companies looking for ideas. Once you have someone interested the inventright team will help guide you through the process and keep you on track to getting your first licensing agreement. There is no exact science to getting your product licensed. However, having a team of professionals who have either placed or been a part of the placement of hundreds of products into multiple industries and market segments gives you a better chance than going it alone. Carrol Shelby said it best on his biography I caught one day. I can’t quote him directly as I do not have the source, but the message was clear and it went something like this. (The smartest thing I ever did was to surround myself with people who were much smarter than me).
inventright gives you the tools to present your product to companies who may be interested in licensing your product. They help you navigate terms of deals and will help guide you through negotiating a deal to a contract. They make themselves available when you need them and provide a wealth of information to help you make informed decisions. If you do the work and take their guidance you are increasing your chance of success!

"Stephen gave me substantial concrete feedback, gained from years of his taking ideas and turning them into successful products. My product is now in over 12,000 stores worldwide."
|"Thanks to Stephen, I have a signed a contract with a licensee who has major distribution in my product's field. I want to send a sincere thank you to yourself and the inventright staff. A price can not be put on the information and advice you have provided to me. Prior to joining inventright, I unknowingly was doing everything all wrong! Stephen spent significant time with me on the phone providing me with strategy and advice from the beginning of my journey all the way to the end. Everything including the ideation phase, prototyping, sell sheets, cold calling, follow-up calls, negotiating, and presenting yourself in a professional manner is explained here. I am kicking myself for not finding inventright years ago, and in hindsight can not believe I ever attempted to do this on my own!"
Thank you again,
Your friend, Ryan
"I just sold my idea. The licensee estimates they will order 128,000 units in the first run. They also plan to give the product its own spinner in each of their 980 stores world wide!
The product was inspired by my daughter, Olivia (11 yrs), and I gave her all of the credit for the concept. In truth I had a conversation that got the idea going in my head and I designed it with her feedback, but they don't need to know that. I even put her name along with mine on the provisional patent.
They now see Olivia as a possible spokesperson for this product (they want to tell the story of the 11 year old designer and even use her first name in the product) and also they want more ideas from Olivia to consider. They've even invited us out to their headquarters to meet the staff and designers and review designs based on this concept. Very cool!
Thank you so much for introducing me to this new and very exciting business and coaching me along the way!"
PancakeBot was accidentally inspired by my daughter Lily Valenzuela when she was 3.5 years old. I was reading an article in Make Magazine when she asked me what I was doing. I told her I was reading about a man in England who made a pancake stamping machine out of LEGO. She instantly turned to her sister Maia and said, 'Papa's going to build a pamcake machine out of LEGO!' Maia did a little dance and thus PancakeBot was born.
After about 9 LEGO iterations, and countless gallons of pancake batter, we were able to make Mickey Mouse Pancakes.
I wanted to show the world what I had made and had a thought in the back of my mind that this could be a product some day but it all seemed out of reach at the time. So I figured, why not make my mark on the internet and put the idea out there and see what people thought. And so I did. One day later, the video went viral and the LEGO version of PancakeBot was a hit.
At about the same time that this started, I began taking Stephen Key's course on licensing ideas. I was living in Norway at the time and the thought of even producing a product in Norway was daunting. Unfortunately, things are very expensive in Norway and the tools I needed to take the idea to the next level seemed out of reach but the concept of being able to license PancakeBot always stayed in the back of my mind.
Another year passed and I decided it was time to take PancakeBot to the next level. With the help of Jonathan Stravitz, a friend of mine from New York and an investor, I created three different acrylic prototypes of PancakeBot. It included new technology and a new method for dispensing pancake batter. With the help of open source products and code, I finally had a working demo that debuted at the San Mateo Maker Faire in May of 2014.
It was a hit and many people loved it. A few quirks here and there but for the most part, it did the job and people were excited.
The neat thing about the situation was that because of my former exposure, PancakeBot became synonymous with my name and my family.
One day in June, we received an email from a gentleman named Evan Dash who owned StoreBound, a company that helped bring products to market. I was excited and this is where Stephen's course really helped. I was already familiar with the licensing process and felt that it was the best way to bring PancakeBot to market. Especially because of my living in Norway.
So after some negotiations, we signed a deal with Evan and now, PancakeBot is slated to come to market early 2nd quarter.
About Stephens Course
Prior to signing up with the course, I read as much as I could about licensing ideas and writing up patent applications etc. It all seemed so daunting and scattered. I decided to take Stephen's course for two reasons, number 1 was to put it all together, number two was to gain access to a list of businesses that I could try to license my concepts to.
What I quickly learned was that Stephen's course was much more than that. The stories I heard, the experiences others shared, motivated me. It helped keep me going when things were rough. But Stephen's course also provided information about what to look for in products, how to grow your ideas, how to expand and use the knowledge that was already out there.
With PancakeBot though, I realised I took a different approach. I released plans to the LEGO version for free to people. I put my name out there and created a brand around PancakeBot and my name and my family. I did this unintentionally as I was primarily interested in letting people learn about PancakeBot and excite kids about cooking and robotics. I wanted to build a connection between food and technology that kids could relate too. Making it in LEGO was just a bonus (and LEGO makes a great prototyping tool).
But the greatest issue I faced was how to bring the idea to Market and share it with the world. And after great consideration, partnering with StoreBound was the right thing to do and we`re hoping it is a success.
Thanks to Stephen's course though, I had the tools in hand to be able to make educated decisions when the opportunity arose.
If you're and idea maker, a tinkerer, an inventor, and don't know how to take your idea to the next level, Stephen's course along with Andrew's mentoring will be key in your success. I will let you know, that you can do it without Stephen's course, but the learning curve will be tougher and longer and going at it solo can be difficult at times but the course and mentoring program will provide small keys to unlock your personal potential as you enter the world of creating, inventing and licensing.
“Whether you consider yourself a serious inventor or a garage tinkerer, there comes a time when you must decide if you’re ready to take it to the next level. Stephen Key is the guy who can get you there. I would tell anyone wondering how to get your product on store shelves, to give inventright a call today. The program is simple, supportive, and brilliant! It’s amazing to have a team of seasoned professionals in your corner guiding you through the entire process. Stephen, Andrew, and the rest of the team get the job done right! Thank you for doing a great job and helping people achieve what they might consider unachievable.”

"I started the inventright course last October as I have always had loads of ideas, but never managed to successfully license any of them. The inventright books, DVDs and webinars were great for learning all the steps you need to take in order to have the best chance of licensing your idea. The best thing about the course though, is having someone on the other end of the phone or Skype to talk to. Unlike other courses Stephen and Andrew answer the phones themselves, and have been great at steering me in the right direction when I got stuck, they also have a fantastic enthusiasm which helps to motivate you. After signing my first licensing agreement, I now see that it is really possible to license more of my ideas and that's all thanks to Stephen and Andrew."

Stephen Key, co-founder of inventright came highly recommended to me from several credible sources. I hired Stephen as my mentor and a few months later he encouraged me to apply for the Hit Reality TV Show Wife Swap because they were looking for mom inventors. Our episode features our 2 patent pending products and will be on an aggressive re-run schedule in multiple countries for the next 3 years. What incredible publicity, thanks to Stephen. Additionally, Stephen referred The LA Times to me for an interview about our 2 products which they voted in the top 3 out of 9 innovations created in the 2009 recession. A BIG “Thank you” to Stephen!

Without his knowledge and willingness to share it, I would not have been able to successfully bring my own product to market. Now readers of his book have the same opportunity to benefit from an education in start ups and just how true it is that all it takes is persistence and one simple idea."

"Stephen and Andrew and their inventright program were a great help to me in landing a great licensing contract. They are always easy to reach by phone and their insights are very valuable. The webinars are especially valuable as are their resources and contacts. The ability to go back and listen to archived webinars is great. I spent many hours driving around listening and learning. It's really great to be able to discuss things with them as one works through all the details involved in chasing down and landing a licensing agreement."

"Well the deal is done.. I just signed my 1st licensing contract!! Your Idea of a yearly sale quota worked and I also got a “to market” date. I’ve been working with them on the factory sample. It is very close. I was impressed. It’s so cool to see one’s product actually made! They are shooting to have the samples by the Housewares’ Show in March. It’s tight.. but hopeful. They also starting to working on the packaging.. can’t wait to see it. So on to the next. I want to thank you for all your support and leadership on my 1st product. I still have to pinch myself. I never would of thought I could do this, especially in 6 months. I can’t believe how much I have learned in such a short time!! The inventright system really works and I love the whole process!!"

"In 2011 shortly after we received the design patent on our product "The Posture Transformer" we were at a crossroads as to what direction to take. We began to do research on licensing which lead us to Stephen's book, "One Simple Idea". We were so inspired by the valuable content that we quickly signed up as students. The information and guidance that we have received from inventright has been the most valuable in helping us establish our business strategy. Perfectore Corp. is a design house, we venture as well as license our products. By following the Invent Right strategy we have accomplished more than I can share with you now, but I feel the most vital tool has been that of introducing and pitching ideas to absolute strangers. This takes guts, but if you follow the Invent Right method you achieve goals effortlessly. Its about sticking to the program...one that works!! The best investment we have made to date is becoming students of the Invent Right system. Thanks guys, we are well on our way to unlimited success."
"I have attended one of Stephen Key’s seminars and purchased the inventright course that covers the “10 Steps To Invention Success” I will tell you it was the BEST MONEY SPENT. I have been designing and inventing for years, and I am always learning. Listening to Stephen was just confirming what I have been doing for years…Keep the process simple. The “10 Steps To Invention Success” is a MUST read. The process is broken down into Steps that makes it simple to follow and gives you a roadmap to Success. While I was listening to Stephen and his Process…I just kept nodding my head “YES” “YES” “YES”. I have followed these Basic Steps for years in my own Product Developing and Inventing process, but Stephen puts it into a very Easy To Follow Process. Product Developing, Inventing, Patenting, and Licensing, has been my life, and I have made $Millions …YOU CAN TOO!!!"

"Don't take this course if you're looking for a quick, easy and magic solution to making money. Licensing your ideas is hard work. Fun, challenging, rewarding and potentially lucrative, but hard work. inventright shows you how to most effectively leverage that effort to get the best shot at the goal and to avoid expensive and time-consuming mistakes.
Stephen Key is the real deal. It's always best to learn from someone who's done it before, but Stephen brings that learning to a whole different level, by guiding his students every step along the way. He gives inventors and independent designers like myself the skill set and confidence required to get in the door with these big companies, and land a great licensing deal. "I have been inventing products for some time. Prior to being introduced to the Invent Right system, I would use Licensing Agents to place my products. Their take was sometimes 50%. Using agents was only marginally successful and the time spent vs. the income gained was dismal. I researched many books, trade journals, internet sites etc; none provided a complete A to Z guide for licensing a product. Then I found Invent Right. I purchased the Invent Right system a little over a year ago. Using your system I now have two more products going to market in 2008, "Pool Rockets" & the "BarknBat". I currently have various new products being reviewed by 26 different companies. Now, it is not a matter of if,...its only a when."

I was recommended to Stephen’s book by a friend and thank God for it! The book led me to inventright and inventright led me to a licensing agreement. It has been a 9 month process, and Andrew has been there to help me every step of the way. "Your approach has forced me to reexamine my entire process. I like to think that I'm pretty knowledgeable about this stuff since I have a masters degree in product design from Stanford University, worked at IDEO and I've built a company around one of my inventions. But despite all that and my dealings with all sorts of designers over the past 10 years your approach hit me like a breath of fresh air."

"If necessity is the mother of invention, Stephen and Andrew are its midwives. Before discovering inventright, I was winging it, using a haphazard process of my own that could generously be called "invent wrong". The inventing process can sometimes be like Mr. Toad's Wild Ride. Andrew and Stephen smooth out the bumps for you and let you know what's likely coming over that next hill. I've been bitten by the inventing bug and inventright has shown me how to harness my inventing superpowers for good. Why wouldn't you sign up for inventright?
Whether you need gentle guidance or full-on hand-holding, Andrew and Stephen are there for you every step of the way. If not now, when? Where else can you take advantage of professionals who have "been there, done that" and are willing and able to show you the exact steps to get to that same spot?
I signed up for the inventright course two years ago. Through diligent application of the steps I learned and by leveraging the exceptional one-on-one support of both Stephen and Andrew, I have now successfully licensed two ideas and have several more in the pipeline. I'm STOKED!
Using the steps I learned from the inventright course has been the most exciting, challenging and rewarding experience of my life. I can now call myself officially a professional inventor. inventright helped me to reinvent my career path into something I'm passionate about: making my new product ideas come to life. Whether you're a rocket surgeon (smarter than a rocket scientist and a brain surgeon put together) or a regular person, like me, you CAN do this.
Does inventright guarantee that all of your ideas will be licensed? Of course not. But, if you're willing to put in the effort and learn from Stephen and Andrew's phenomenal course and one-on-one coaching, you'll be much more likely to find a home for your ideas than if you are just "winging it"."

The Award Winning Qube
Okay…it looks like a simple wooden box. But looks can be deceiving.
The LP Qube is actually a very high-tech approach to shaker design. A unique internal-baffle design produces a multitude of shaker effects…all depending on what direction the “box” is moved in. Forward-and-back creates one sound; side-to-side creates another. Spin your wrist to shake it in a circular pattern and you get a double-timed version of both. The rhythmic potential is virtually limitless.
"If it were not for Stephen's gracious availability and encouragement we would still be dreamin' and not doin'. He has helped us successfully navigate through our first worldwide licensing deal with a major manufacturer in our market. It's only the beginning for us."
I bought the inventright course as a last ditch effort to get my product to market. Following Stephen’s formula, I had a corporation interested within minutes of sending them a sell sheet. Then came the daunting task of negotiating my first licensing contract. I could not have done it without Stephen and Andrew! They personally guided me through the entire process. From referrals to top notch attorneys to “role playing” conversations with corporate executives, they provided me with a wealth of experience, sound advice and confidence to get the deal done. Thank you Stephen and Andrew! I am proud to be one of your students and appreciate your extraordinary passion and integrity.

To anyone who is looking at inventright as a help and resource in developing a product or in learning the process, I would say get involved with these guys. I have been an inventright student since July 2011. Stephen and Andrew are the real deal. I was a little skeptical at first and the first time that I really needed something I called and got a voicemail so I hung up and went about what I was doing. Shortly thereafter I got a return call from Stephen saying that he missed my called and asked what he could help me with. I was pleasantly surprised. Since then I have found that is the norm at inventright. They are there to help and they do! It doesn’t matter how small or dumb your question seems they are always very willing to give their advice and help you through the hurdles that are present in this business. I love the resources they provide as well as the weekly webinars. I really appreciate the relationship that I feel with them. Without Stephen, Andrew, and inventright I could not have brought my idea to life and have it on the market.
Thank you Stephen and Andrew you guys are awesome!

I just signed my second deal...WOOT WOOT! This one was pretty cool. I got 7 years of royalties at 4% and then they own it...it was the only way they would do it so I was ok with it.
I will always say Thank you to the both of you for the rest of my life for giving me the skills, confidence, and abilities to make my ideas into realities!!! So THANK YOU!!!
"FINALLY DID IT!!!! Thank You both so much. You have been such a great influence on my life. I remember when I started with inventright and I had no confidence and no clue what I was doing.... I knew where I wanted to go (to be an inventor) but didn't have the HOW. Thank you, You have given me the HOW to reach my dreams. I had you both look over the contract about 3 weeks and then talked to the company we went back and forth and finally came to an agreement on everything, so I signed today!!"

"An entrepreneur at heart but one adverse to risk and large start-up costs. That was me. I was pursuing an apparel business and it was becoming increasingly clear the business model was not going to work. Enter inventright. Andrew and Stephen taught me how to blend my creativity with my entrepreneurial side. Using their program anyone can get into licensing, a business model with minimal risk and financial investment. The best part about it is, it's fun, the sky is the limit, and you can do it literally anywhere. Having recently just licensed my first invention in just around 4 months, I plan to produce more products and do it all traveling in Central America where I'm planning an extended vacation. Thank you Stephen and Andrew for all your expert help and advice! The amount of time you spend teaching and talking to inventors like myself is unparalleled and extremely beneficial!"

"In a world of great product ideas and a crowd of voices and opinions of how to get your ideas to market, getting solid answers, insights and honest help can be hard to come by. There's no lack of frustration in deciding what and who to believe. Well BELIEVE THIS, Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss turn frustration into education, motivation, and deliver the genuine article through road-tested experience and the dedication to sharing it. Their infinite passion for products and the people who bring them to life shines through in everything they do, from the programs, to the publications, right down to the personal conversations, which they do often and openly. They get it, and more so, want others to get it too. For the dreamers becoming doers, it's a priceless asset and without question, one that helps get it done! Using what we have learned we quickly licensed our first product to a manufacturer in California and it is now being marketed at Home Depot

"One of the best things about you guys is that you clearly want to help. While navigating the often treacherous path from concept to market I found so much misinformation and so many cautionary tales about scams and pitfalls and everywhere I turned, I found plenty of those who wanted money or equity just to give out the simplest information or crack open their Rolodex for me.
Initially, I came to your site while web surfing to check out your resources page and I was surprised and happy to see that you didn’t try to hold back- there was much useful information and contact info and great articles. Although you did promote yourselves and your services on your site, I respected that you didn’t leave the impression that I had to spend money before learning what I first came for. This told me that you guys are passionate about what you do for its own sake.
Next, I listened to the stories of other successful inventors and that of course was very motivating and inspiring.
I had the chance to talk twice with Stephen and once with Andrew over the next year and again, you guys were completely forthcoming, encouraging and respectful of me as a ‘real’ inventor even though I hadn’t made a dime yet- and hadn’t yet paid you anything.
Another great thing about you both is the tone you set: It was very reassuring and important to me to hear you say over and over the message that this process doesn’t have to be complicated, costly or mystifying… it IS possible to license an idea without breaking the bank- there are steps one can take and shortcuts and moreover; the licensees put their pants on just like we do and that they need us just as much, (maybe more) than we need them. That gave me the confidence to start thinking of myself as the real deal and speaking of my product in commercial terms without feeling as if I was at a disadvantage.
You paid it forward and that made me want to pay you back.
After I joined, it was also terrific to get your input on the contract. I was overwhelmed and intimidated at first and again you were generous with your time and helped me quickly separate the forest from the trees. One comment in particular about the contract that sticks in my mind is when I was questioning the minimum $20K in sales required to renew the agreement. I said that number seemed too low and you said I shouldn’t sweat the small stuff because ‘when it comes to DRTV, it’s like being a little bit pregnant; either you are or you aren’t’!

"The inventright course is the Map that showed me the way to the Treasure of Licensing. I am so grateful to Stephen and Andrew for their support and guidance in every step. Without your assistance, I would not have been able to license my product. I cannot thank you guys enough. I think the inventright course should be a pre-requisite for inventors who seriously want to bring their inventions to market. Thank you very much."

"I just licensed my new fresh lip shaped mints! Thank you Stephen for all the help. I know this sounds like a paid advertisement, which it is not, but investing in your inventright Licensing Course was the best investment I made for my business. I am so impressed by how quickly you responded to my voice mails and emails seeking your advice. There are so many ups and downs while licensing a product, having you available to answer my questions and provide sound advice is priceless. One of the most important lessons I learned from you is to stay positive and flexible while negotiating the licensing agreement."

I DID IT !
Stephen, I could not have done this AT ALL if it would not have been for your program and coaching along the way.

"In writing this testimonial I realized just how true it is and happy I am with inventright. The only problem is, it still sounds too good to be true!
Since I was little, I dreamed of becoming an inventor. After many years and many thousands of dollars doing it the wrong way I discovered Stephen Key and his inventright course. At first it seemed too good to be true, but during our initial phone conversation Stephen gave me irrefutably sound advice. I decided to purchase the course and I’m so glad that I did. Within two months of purchasing Ideas Make Millions I signed my first licensing agreement on an invention that I’ve struggled with for years. True to his word, Stephen was there every step of the way, even when I was about to settle for an unacceptable deal. Stephen guided me to be in control, to seek the right deal for my invention, and to realize my dream of becoming a successful inventor."

|"Inspiration transformed into action! This is the result inventright delivered for my product ideas. This amazing company helped transform my dreams and product concepts into a viable business. In less than a year, after taking the inventright course, I have productized and Trade marked over 25 items. I am now talking with Target, QVC, Walgreen’s and contacting Victoria Secret & Mary Kay Cosmetics to distribute my merchandise. inventright provided me with both the knowledge and confidence to approach these large corporate distribution channels. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to call these companies. Knowing the right answers to their questions was key, and inventright had me completely prepared.
I would like to thank Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss for their excellent advice and counsel. They always made themselves available for questions, and their timely response to emails was extraordinary. InventRight’s “tele-seminars” broadened my knowledge and continued to drive me toward success. Working with Stephen and Andrew, I felt cared for, motivated, and most of all, educated. I enthusiastically recommend inventright to help anyone convert their dream idea into reality. Victory!"
I’ve been an inventright member for almost a year, and I’ve participated in all but about eight webinars since last February. I became a member because I found a YouTube video of one of your seminars, interviews or something, and then found your book "One Simple Idea". Reading that book and being an inventright student has changed my life.
For years, I have had idea, after idea, after idea, but became frustrated with the hurdles and barriers of entry to venture those ideas. I did not understand the licensing model until I found and followed your strategy. If for no other reason, your ten-step plan, when followed, forces a disciplined approach not just to licensing, but to any endeavor.
Further, knowing that you and other inventors and product designers face the same hurdles, emotions, successes, failures, highs, lows, false starts, rejections, bursts of creativity, lulls in creativity, and the whole spectrum of experiences unique to those who create and endeavor to create, just lets me know that I am not alone in my pursuit. As I said in the last webinar, it doesn’t matter whether it is “strength in numbers” or “misery loves company,” it is comforting to know fellow travelers accompany me on my journey, whether or not I meet them face to face.
Holding Thursday nights has allowed me to build discipline in other areas, and, thanks to you and Andrew, my labor is starting to bear fruit. Let me explain:
Since becoming a student of inventright, I have:
1. Received a “Notice of Allowance” from the USPTO for one of my designs.
2. Prototyped multiple versions of one of my products.
3. Created a sell sheet template for all future designs.
4. Started a relationship with a manufacturer who is interested in my designs
5. Auditioned for Shark Tank and made it to the third round.
6. Finished one novel.
7. Started and have almost finished a second novel.
8. Submitted two more PPAs.
9. Designed five mobile apps and used eLance to find a developer.
10. Became a vegetarian (again) and lost ten pounds.
Now, this is not to say inventright was the cause of the hit list above, but the entrepreneurial energy; astounding honesty about fear . . . real fear . . .of putting your “stuff” out there for others to accept, reject, ridicule or dismiss; and downright “one step at a time” mentality of attacking any endeavor that you embrace, live and encourage inspires me and keeps me going each day.
Like everyone else who is an entrepreneur, I have many balls in the air. I am a professor of history and philosophy; I trade futures and options (I worked in finance in NYC for years before earning my PhD); I am a writer and aspiring published author; I invent; and I am just starting to develop apps. Before becoming involved with inventright, I always dreamed of writing novels, inventing great things, being a patent holder, selling an app, losing that last ten pounds, and humbling myself enough to finally ask for help. Thanks for the help. We can do nothing alone.
Have a great week! And I’ll see you on Thursday night!
"I DARE you to read One Simple Idea. If you are a doodler, tinker, daydreamer, Goonie, Shark Tank watcher, or Marcus Lemonis (The Profit) student and are up for a little adventure in your life, I dare you to read this book. Key challenges you to put in 10 hours per week towards your concept; sketch it, make a prototype (3D printing), apply for a non-provisional patent and start submitting proposals to companies. Stephen Keys’ approach is easy to follow and he provides real life strategies/ experiences that he has personally been through. I especially love his business philosophy on licensing versus starting a business (being married to just one concept that may not actually sell). Key helps keep your focus on the reality of licensing just by what if your monthly royalty check pays off your car or mortgage, put a lot of money into your children’s college tuitions, or simply live debt free."
– Gene, inventor of Pensillies
Thank you again and always for your solid advice and experience. I am finishing up my licensing contract. Wishing you all the best!
One Simple Idea has helped us immensely in getting our business on the right track. Many thanks and best wishes.
Last week I won your book for the door prize at the Inventors Center of Kansas City meeting! It was so funny because I had a Library version that was MONTHS overdue and my husband kept harping on me to return it...and I just happened to win it as the door prize! I was so excited...now I have my own copy to highlight, underline and mark-up as needed! :) My husband Bob and I are volunteering at the Make48 in KC in April so hopefully we will get to meet you and have you autograph the book!
Thank you for being a great inspiration!

Stephen, what an honor it is that I'm an inventright student from Portland, OR. You and your incredibly kind and intelligent friend, Andrew Krauss, have brought a hope to my families financial future, by teaching myself and many others, a practical skillset in Licensing ideas. It's my biggest hope that the major corporations expressing interest in my prototypes, will bring my ideas to fruition. I can never thank you guys enough. You and Andrew embody true servant leadership! By far, One Simple Idea, is the best business book I've ever read. Can't wait for the new edition!
– Tom T.
I just wanted to let you know how impressed I am on how organized and informative the webinars and inventright web site are. I have been with you guys since Spring of 2012 and have seen a big difference in the last year. The webinars are getting better all the time. You are making it real easy for us to learn. Andrew has the inventright web site are about as organized as it can get. Great Job Guys! All your effort truly shows and is very much appreciated.Thank you both for all knowledge and support that you have given to all of us.

I would like to thank the entire inventright team for doing an exceedingly fantastic job in supporting their members. I am so happy and proud to be an inventright student. I am making phone calls and making contact with manufactures and I owe it all to Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss. These two are a great team to work with.
It was a pleasure speaking to you because I find your publications amazing. You have shared business strategies and detailed instructions that not only guide individuals through the process, but also empower them to move forward with their ideas. Some of my ideas have generated $2000 in a month and some only have generate $200.00 in a month, but I now have the formula in place to launch any idea after reading One Simple Idea. I was able to get my product on the shelves of retailers like Walgreens and Bed Bath & Beyond and I did it by reading your publications. The new product I just launched this summer is already placed at airport concessions.
Not only am I successful in getting major retailers to buy my product, I get great product placement. I didn't know what a sell sheet was until I read your book! My background is in Education, not business. Your publications have really helped my family and I!!

"You and Andrew just make things SO easy to follow. Having the benefit of your experiences and your always-positive guidance really helps me feel confident about moving forward. I just wouldn't be ANYWHERE near here without your help. THANKS again ... I truly love being an inventright student!"
"Stephen Key is great! If you haven't read the book One Simple Idea, do yourself a favor and get it. He explains things in a really easy to understand way and even breaks down what makes an idea marketable and what gives it the best chance for being licensed. On a personal note it's been a game changer for me. I've always come up with lots of ideas and had tons of fun doing it and used to ask my wife... Why can't I just come up with ideas for a living? But I never knew there was an avenue to get there until now. Thanks Stephen!"

"Successful inventing, like any other job, is just as much about who you know as what you know. After meeting Stephen Key at the 2008 Minnesota Inventors Congress, I followed his website, looking for scraps of knowledge and potential opportunities. Even though I have never been his student, I was able to network with people on his site. In 2009 a lead from InventRight’s site resulted in me being on ABC Nightline. In 2010 I followed up on a link on the inventright site that resulted in an audition for the Discovery Channel show called Pitchmen. The audition turned into being featured on Season Two of PitchMen where Telebrands offered me a licensing deal for my invention."

P.S. We have in our day more priests acting as though they are tragically indispensable, in reality they are in the way. Priests, clergy, lawyers, doctors, bankers, need to step aside, we can get it done with out all of them, you guys proved it long long ago.
The MP3 CD suits me perfectly for my car journey's to and from work when I'm just killing time and sitting in traffic! I have also purchased the book version for easier reference if I've forgotten the CD track number.
I've read other books on inventing and visit inventing forums via the web and listened to various radio/talkshows on innnovation. Admittedly, it was daunting at the outset, but over the last few years I've become more and more familar with patenting, licensing etc.
However, I've come to the conclusion that your book is the quintessential bible of how one can fastrack one's idea from napkin to license, bypassing the many pitfalls along the way. Anyone starting out in the world of innovation/inventing/product development needs only one book/CD- It's called "One Simple Idea" by Stephen Key!
Not only is your CD informative- it's also inspirational. I've learned so much from your CD and no doubt saved $1000's along the way and more importantly, saving an immense amount of time. In effect, your CD has enabled me to move closer to realising my dreams of eventually one day seeing my ideas selling on DRTV and in large retailers worldwide.
I just want to thank you Stephen for putting together something that has helped me beyond my expectation of what a book or CD can offer about the world of inventing and licensing.
— Cornel C
Thanks so much for the guidance and direction that you have given me. I always wanted to be an inventor, and make my mark ever since I was a kid. I never knew this could be a possible way to get products to market. Without this I would continue to dream and not invent.
– John C.
Thanks in part to you, my daughter and entrepreneur is evolving into a serious designer even at her very young age. It's thanks in part to you because: had I not started designing and attempting to license products myself, my daughter never would have ended up doing the same. So, your influence on peoples lives extends well beyond your immediate students. I think I'm starting to understand the kind of gratification that must provide.

"Thank you all for another, great webinar; How to Get Into Big Companies. The information was absolutely extraordinary. I’m still amazed that we have access to such valuable knowledge and experience that inventright shares. Thank you!"
— Kevin C.
I joined the inventright team at the recommendation of a fellow inventor. One of my biggest fears was the dreaded cold call, however after learning the inventright system it has become the most exciting and enjoyable part of the process. Here’s my new motto – inventright is a VERB – We Are Action – Action Creates Clarity!
I now realize I’m making opportunity calls to companies and there’s no better way to get instant feedback from the people who matter most then by asking this one simple question –
DO YOU LOOK AT NEW PRODUCT IDEAS?
Wow! What a great question. I had 3 separate people from 3 different companies all respond with the exact same response – “Of course, who would tell you no?”
As you begin engaging companies something amazing happens - they give you the roadmap to success – all you have to do is listen. Here’s how we should measure success and yes I consider it a success even when companies turn down the opportunity to produce my latest and greatest idea! Let’s be honest, we are creative and smart however we can get bogged down by fear. Remember my new motto – We Are Action and Action creates Clarity. I want to know if my idea is as good as I think it is or not worth the effort and companies will clear that mystery up very quickly. The amazing part of not interested doesn’t mean it’s a bad idea. I had a director of sales who loved my idea but didn’t have the equipment or means to produce and distribute my idea, however he spent 45 minutes on the phone going through his contacts of people I should call. He gave me permission to use his name and now I have developed a great contact for future advice and deals. – A successful No! – inventright is a Verb – Action Creates Clarity – The insight and advice I received with that (No) opportunity call was invaluable. Here’s another example in an email I received. I just made 2 more contacts for future deals!
I’ve moved on to my next product, and it’s good. I know it’s good because after getting my sell sheet the CEO of the company called me from Los Angles after a meeting with Disney. That CEO’s company does 50 million per year in sales of Novelty Candy Products. He spent 35 minuets on the phone with me, offering advice to include contacts and pitfalls to avoid. He said I could call him at any point for advice and future product ides! That’s amazing – The CEO called me – a new inventor – I now have a new friend and mentor all because I made one call and asked one simple question – DO YOU LOOK AT NEW PRODUCT IDEAS? Thank You inventright! I’m getting nothing but great feedback.
Thank you inventright Team.

I can mention a handful of reasons why David is a great coach to work with but I think what has him be the best coach for me is the fact that just a little while ago, David was a student doing exactly what I was doing (and probably a lot of students are doing), he was making A HUGE DEAL out of cold calling, and thought he was in action because he cold called one or two companies every other week. And once he got in action, he went from "student" to "professional" and since he made that leap just recently, he is able to relate to me being terrified of cold calling and making a huge deal out of it and avoiding contacting companies at all cost. He coached me in such way that I discovered all "cold calling" is, really, is contacting companies to get instructions to submit an idea, and that is it, there is nothing scary about it! I'm forever grateful... now it is not a matter of "if" but "when".
inventright empowers you to set and accomplish goals one small and achievable step at a time. Want to invent and license? Make sure you're going the Right way!
Stephen Key and the inventright coaches are masters at teaching licensing. Their approach the licensing process like guides with a map, providing a map which shows all of the steps involved in the process (their "10 Steps"), and then personally guiding their students through the landscape of the map. Their expertise helps students avoid typical pitfalls and teaches students how to make sound decisions during the process of creating and licensing products. The value this provides is priceless.
I just wanted to thank you for the great communication! I really enjoy your program especially working with Alix, she is very helpful and patient. I look forward to my appointments with her because she keeps me on track and motivated.
Thanks for your time.

Thank you Stephen! Guess WHAT! We have two big company's that have offered to license Switch Kick and manufacture and distribute too! I have both meetings next week AND we are going to the NAMM show with our own booth! Your service even if we don’t license is paying off!
THANK YOU both
I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your team for the exceptional program you all have developed. I’ve been an inventright student since August 2014, and in that short amount of time, I feel I’ve gained a pretty strong understanding of the licensing concept you practice and the steps required to become successful in the industry.
Due to the support and resources your team offers, there is no doubt in my mind that I will become a professional product developer. I want you to know that all the hard work you and your team put into your weekly webinars, newsletters, email responses, website updates, prompt follow up phone calls, situational advice, appointments and bar none customer service does not go unnoticed. I’ve been beyond satisfied with this program and your team’s efforts are impressive, to say the least.
Never once have I felt confused, lost or abandoned within this program. Your team gives us the tools to be as successful as we choose to be and I’ve truly received as much from this opportunity as I’ve put into it. I still have a long way to go but I’m looking forward to the journey with the inventright team.
There are not enough positive, descriptive words to illustrate InventRight’s program. I would highly recommend you and your team to my closest friends and family, without hesitation, because I know they would be in great hands.
Again, thank you for all your support!
Amy Jo B.
Thank you so much for all of the time and effort you have put into helping me on my projects. It is so clear to me how much you care about helping everyone at Invent Right. The Invent Right team has allowed me to wake passionate and excited about work each day -- a true blessing.
Thank you again and happy holidays!
From Stephen and Andrew I've gained the ability to easily speak to companies and have the ear of people whom I never before felt would listen. I've learned to present my products in ways that get me noticed and remembered. I have now had licensing offers on multiple products, and know that I am on the right path towards closing a deal -- and I am thankful for all the insights and lessons that they have clearly provided! Thank you Stephen, Andrew, and the inventright staff for always being there for my questions, helping me face my fears, and showing me a path to becoming a successful product developer. I truly believe in inventright.
Stephen, I’m also always amazed at your prompt phone replies!! Today I didn't even get to finish leaving a voicemail before you returned my call!!
Thanks again for your help, patience, and advice!! You and inventright are solid gold!
– J. Andre
Stephen, thanks for the call today. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your accessibility and willingness to talk things through with me. You always help me get to the right decision…even if it takes me some time to get there. You guys are both incredibly generous with your time and advice and I honestly think that anyone thinking of getting into the world of licensing would be making a big mistake not joining the inventright team. I think anyone would be hard-pressed to find such valuable advice at such a fair price.
Thanks again and wishing you a tremendously fun and successful 2015!
Steven and Andrew,
I appreciate your willingness to work with me as an inventright student. Your input is invaluable and after we talk I always feel more confident that we are on the right path.
Best Personal Regards,
I read Mr. Key's book a few years ago. I had been undergoing cancer treatments for a few years, and I was financially strapped. I had been a corporate attorney until my diagnosis, and with a long-term battle ahead, I had no idea what was going to become of me and felt imprisoned in what to do with my life.
Mr. Key's book really changed my life because it helped me to think outside of the box. It really helped me to see the power of an idea. It gave very helpful and clear guidance on how to take an idea and turn it into revenue. Furthermore, the book provided helpful instructions and resources.
I am still undergoing treatments. I am thankful that this book helped me to get on a terrific path in the midst of a very trying time.
Thank you, Mr. Key!!!!
Thanks again Stephen for responding so quickly to my call for help! Very, very much appreciated!
It confirms, (not that it was required) the amazing level of genuine commitment you, Andrew and the rest of your team have for helping your students to success. With so much going on in the world these days it is hugely comforting especially for a newbie such as, but not limited to, myself.
Thanks and regards,
To the inventright Team,
My name is Harkeem, and I am a Product Developer. I would like to thank the entire inventright team for doing an exceedingly fantastic job in supporting their members. I am so happy and proud to be an inventright student. I am making phone calls and making contact with manufactures, and I owe it all to Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss. These two are a great team to work with.
Thank you for your encouragement. You give me great inspiration. I will be successful at this in the near future. I haven’t given up my day job, but I have been working on a few things, and your book gives me hope.
Absolutely outstanding Webinar last night it's just what I needed. I am a different kind of learner meaning I need a bit more explanation when someone's trying to teach me something. I find your ability to convey and cover details very useful. What's even more helpful is you dialogue things so the details can be best understood in how things are spoken as well. What hangs me up pulls me back is I don't know what to say or how to say it so I don't do things. Your thinking well to include dialoguing in teaching the inventright steps shows your natural instinct for people skills.
Thank you again and again I can't thank you enough.
Hi Stephen and Andrew,
Wow, great webinar tonight!! No doubt in my mind I have THE best coaches in the world!! I am VERY happy you encouraged me to "keep inventing" to make my product better which I do think has made it much stronger... Now I just have to keep taking the actions to FIND IT A GOOD HOME!! LOVE being an inventright student, and feel incredibly lucky to have your expertise and support behind me. I am determined to get a licensing deal ... if not for this project, then for a future one!
Just wanted to email you a special thank you for the webinar last night! I was really knocked out by it. It answered some nagging questions I had from before, and got me all excited for when I write a PPA for my next project. You and Andrew just make things SO easy to follow. Having the benefit of your experiences and your always-positive guidance really helps me feel confident about moving forward. I just wouldn't be ANYWHERE near here without your help. THANKS again ... I truly love being an inventright student ...
I can’t begin to tell you how much your program and your inspiration has helped me with a product I have worked with for around 6 years. I have done my sell sheet, my pending patent and I am ready to start sending out my sell sheet, which Andrew helped me improve. You have opened the door for me to license it and have started the wheels turning on many other products. I also know and have other friends who have already spent huge amounts of money for patents and are attempting to manufacture their own products. I will be talking to these friends and hope to head them in your direction. Thanks again for your help and encouragement. Hopefully I will be able to call on you to help me negotiate my product with some big company. Have a great day!

“Stephen Key, a successful inventor himself, works diligently to help others learn how to make money developing products without spending a fortune. His inventright philosophy dovetails perfectly into what is required to prosper in the world of Open Innovation because the winning concepts are often those that are creative and well-articulated without being fully developed into finished products.”

Hi Stephen. My name is Sef and I'm an Advertising student at Art Center College of Design. Gotta'say, I'm quite flattered to see my school mentioned in your book, but I did have a little moment of sadness after being reminded that I'm out $200,000+ because of tuition. That's all right though, I think it as more of an investment, as it should be. Well anyways, I literally just finished reading your book, One Simple Idea, and I had to give you some major kudos on how awesome this book was. In the middle of reading your book, I've had a bit of an "A-Ha!" moment: Us design students obviously design "stuff" — Product Designers design Products, Transportation Designers designs all things transportations, etc., but us Advertising students design ideas, which usually comes out in the form of ad. Since we spend so much time concepting and designing ideas, it is very easy to come up with ideas that are not even ad related, and I think licensing ideas is a great outlet for us to see our non-ad related ideas being produced while making some cash at the same time. After reading your book, I have decided to make it goal to license at least 3 products before I finish this semester, and I plan on taking up licensing as a passion / personal project while I continue to my advertising career. It would be great to have you come back down to Pasadena and to do another talk with us Art Center students. I'm currently in the works of putting together an ADtrepreneur workshop with one of our Entrepreneurial teachers and Advertising Department Chair. It would be amazing if you can join in on it too. With that said, thank you for putting this book and your other resources together! I am extremely excited to start licensing and pursuing an entrepreneurial path. If I have any questions about my licensing ventures, I'll make sure to reach out to you.
"Thanks Stephen. You are a mentor to all of us. One of my biggest moments on American Inventor was having the opportunity to learn from you. You're the real deal and I'm grateful to pass on what you continue to teach through your books, blogs, workshops and Vlogs.
Continue to have the best day ever! Much joy!"
As a product developer, I have usually handled everything on my own. I'm just starting to adjust to going to the site every time I need something, from sell-sheet templates, to elance designers. It is such a luxury to not have to "reinvent the wheel" for each step. Thank you for all of the resources!
Thank you also for the sense of community. Good to be immersed in a culture that understands my crazy passion for product development.
I met with you approximately a year ago in Minneapolis, I introduced my product to you. I did license the product and will be in stores in three weeks, just after the holidays, next Christmas. It iwill be in Bed Bath & Beyond, Menards and a global pet show in February. I took a lot of your advice and want to say thank you.
Your presentation was great! I was in meetings all day yesterday, and my blackberry buzzed at least 40 times with people giving me compliments on the meeting and your talk.
The messages I received yesterday, said that they were blown away by your presentation, and that you are the best speaker we ever had. I would have to agree!
Thank You !
– Joe Gross, President Edison Inventors Assoication, Fort Myers, FL
Thank you so much for coming to Lexington and being the keynote speaker at our Inventors Conference. The crowd was amazing; the seats were filled with more people standing in the back and out the door of the auditorium! You have a real gift. I could tell our attendees were very amped up as we adjourned to the exhibits. You were inspiring, dynamic and educational. You could tell it was a very eye-opening experience for so many that were there. We would certainly look forward having you come back and speak for us in the future. Again, we so appreciate the contribution of your time and talent at our annual Inventors Conference.
– Don Skaggs, President, Central Kentucky Inventors Council
"To say the least, our February meeting was, to my knowledge, the best meeting that we have ever had!!! We have never had such a turnout with standing room only and people standing outside the door trying to get a glimpse of your talk. In addition, we have never had so many new members signing up at one time. I was getting hand cramps just writing membership receipts. Membership money and applications were coming from every where. Furthermore, we have never had such an after meeting turnout at the Black Eyed Pea. In short, your presence broke records!!!
After the meeting, I had numerous people, including patent attorneys, tell me what a wonderful speaker you were and how much they learned in ways that they have never heard before. Many asked when and if you will be coming back. I was standing in the back of the room and never saw so many people taking notes, including patent attorneys. We definitely will invite you to come back in the future and hope that you can make it."
– George Burkhart, Alamo Inventors
“Stephen Key makes bringing a product to market within reach of every individual. His approach offers people the education they need to be successful whether they do it themselves or choose to hire a service provider. The credibility he brings as an inventor who has made money on his ideas is inspiring and his understanding of various industries and changing markets is invaluable.”
Carrie Jeske - President, Inventors Club of Kansas City
"Stephen Key came to Tampa on March 7th to share his experiences with members of the Tampa Bay Inventors Council and thoroughly convinced me that he is a true advocate for the individual inventor. He speaks from a place not beholden to the politics of organized inventor marketing groups and shares his passion as a successful inventor entrepreneur. He really wants to make a difference and help inventors chart a successful course to getting products on the market and ultimately make money. I know that I will apply his ten steps to my inventions in the future and appreciate all of his encouragement and advice. "
Wayne Rasanen - President, IN10DID, Inc., Tampa Bay Inventors Council
"Thanks very much for the excellent presentation last week. The webinar format worked great with Stephen doing the talking and Andrew handling the video portion and asking the tough questions --- it came across really well. I got quite a few messages from people who attended expressing their appreciation for the great information (and effective presentation) you two provided."
– Brett Strouss, American Society of Inventors
Stephen was kind enough to volunteer to speak to the Austin Inventors group and his passion for product absolutely charged the room. The process Stephen outlined was practical and straight forward. his words of encouragement for the individual product developer made everyone in the room believe they could stand toe to toe with the biggest names in the industry. As founder and President of the Austin Inventors group I received a lot of positive feedback about his approach and process given it was such a refreshing perspective. I would recommend to any inventor or entrepreneur in the ideation phase of the process to enjoy and benefit from Stephen's insights.
Chris Ritchie, President, AIEA
"Thank You for doing what you do. I have just browsed both your web sites, and of course I'm just blown away!! The depth and truth of it are totally amazing!! I too have been helping inventors for a long time, but not to even a fraction of the extent your work is. I find it hard to believe that someone is actually giving sound advice to inventors about the mysterious world of "marketing." I've been able to give advice on protecting ideas, staying away from scams, and guiding them through patent searching, but anything above that level is only hearsay, or a quote. Now at last I will be able to steer clients to your websites and by doing so, help them far beyond what I ever hoped I could. Thank you again -- so very much!! You are my hero's now, so guess what the topic of interest will be at our next NIA meeting... Wow!! I can hardly wait to spread the word."
- Don Costar, Founder, Nevada Inventors' Association. (NIA) www.doncostar.com
Stephen Key's talk at the Inventors Network of the Capital Area gave our members valuable information on the product development process. Through stories of his own inventing adventures Stephen made complex patent and licensing subjects more easy to understand.
Glen Kotapish, Past President, Inventors Network of the Capital Area, www.dcinventors.org
I invited Stephen Key of inventright to be the guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Nevada Inventor’s Association last July. His presentation was incredible and members of our club continue to state that he was the most informative and helpful guest speaker we had in 2009. Stephen Key and inventright are truly an asset to the inventing community.
- Sharon Nickson Cox Past President, Nevada Inventor’s Association, Reno, NV
Just a quick note to say WOW!!! This is one of the most comprehensive presentations on the subject I have ever heard. Some really interesting slants. Some very provocative concepts that I must admit I might not have agreed with before but now do.
– Leo Mazur, President, Inventors Society of South Florida
Thank you for coming to Minnesota to conduct the seminar for Inventors' Network. Since the seminar I have received all nature of enthusiastic comments from our attendees, such as. "Practical information I can put to use right away." "Stephen really helped me on a one to one basis." "Can we get him back here next year?"
I have been starting businesses and inventing for 35 years. Your discussion of "Study The Market Place" gave me a new perspective on the topic. It is true! We can always learn new ways of doing things. I am now studying the market place in a fresh new way.
The day of the seminar, we filled the meeting room to capacity. At the end of the seminar nearly all of the 60 inventors and entrepreneurs, at the event, purchased your inventRight™ home study course. I can speak for the group and tell you all are satisfied with there decision to advance their education and are making continued progress in inventing and marketing their inventions."

“His stories as a successful inventor himself, as well as the stories of his students and those who he consults with, form the basis of the lessons in One Simple Idea. I don’t recommend all that many books, although I am asked to review many. Without hesitation I recommend Key’s book and think it should be required reading for any motivated inventor.” - Gene Quinn
I wanted to personally thank you for helping to promote our Discovery Day event that took place last week at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia. The day was a rousing success and exceeded all of our expectations with over 400 submissions and 30 selected inventors who pitched their products to our panel! I have attached a link to a local media news outlet that covered the event to give you a feel for the day.
Thanks again for your help in bringing this to the forefront for inventors!
Andy McKinley, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development
Over the past ten years, I’ve enjoyed a positive collaborative alliance with Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss because we share an important basic philosophy: Inventors are America’s most precious natural resource and we must do all we can to support and nurture them.
– Don Kelly, Certified Licensing Professional, Former USPTO Chief of Staff, Champion of Independent Inventors, www.PatentAgentPlus.com, IAMA, LLC
Stephen Key was energetic, engaging and informative. His presentation on inventions, patents and licensing was a highlight of our entrepreneur conference.
– Dan Bliss, Co-Founder - PerfectBusiness.com
"Our law firm has worked with numerous InventRight's clients and overwhelmingly their experience with inventright exceeds their expectations. Stephen Key provides inventors with honest and clear advice which is rarely found today. inventright provides a level of instruction and customer support in the inventing industry that is difficult to find in any other industry."
– Michael Neustel, Neustel Law Offices, www.Patent-Ideas.com
"I have known Stephen and Andrew for many years; having served as a guest speaker at The Bay Area Inventors Alliance on several occasions, and otherwise crossing paths at numerous inventor events around the country. I personally consider the Bay Area IA one of the finest and most vibrant independent inventor organizations in the entire US. Stephen and Andrew are quite knowledgeable in marketing and licensing innovative new products and share a tremendous passion, expressed through their unique inventright program, for providing up and coming inventors with hard earned education and guidance."
– Warren Tuttle, Monsahee Marketing LLC, President United Inventors Association, New Cannan, CT
Your webiste is spectacular! We will be referring people to it regularly. Marketing is so difficult and independent inventors just don’t know which companies will be receptive, so this is a Godsend.
Barbara Pitts - Ask The Inventors www.asktheinventors.com
As an inventor you can spend decades and thousands of dollars maneuvering through the maze of the invention process and never get anywhere or you can work with Stephen Key at inventright and have a successful, honest, affordable training plan to bring your inventions to market.
Kedma S Ough, MBA, Micro-inventors Program of Oregon, Executive Director
Simply the best resource for any inventor that wants to try to commercialize a product on his or her own. Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss are awesome."
- John Funk, Evergreen IP
"You were among the most effective speakers I have had in twelve years here at UOP. The students gained so much from you. Not only did they learn your keys to success, but several mentioned how refreshing it was to meet someone so successful, yet so enthusiastic and willing to share their ideas with others. I agree!"
- Cynthia Wagner Weick, Ph.D., Professor, Management, Eberhardt School of Business, University of the Pacific
Stephen spoke at the Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship program. Here is what some of the students had to say...
"I was most struck by your encouragement to not worry about what anyone else thinks about your idea, especially when you're first developing it and experimenting. Approval and support are great, but I can't let the lack of them stop me from at least trying".
Thanks again, Cameron
"Your talk was very motivating — especially at this point in the semester — when everybody seems to be feeling the grind. Thank you for reminding us that entrepreneurship is about having fun. And even more fun, when you work smart. My personal take away from your talk — be bold, dream big and don't hesitate to take the next step because that is where everybody with "genius" ideas falter."
"I wanted to thank you for speaking with us. I wish you would speak to Acton groups regularly."
"We really enjoyed your talk and multiple people mentioned today what a breath of fresh air it was."
"Thank you for coming to speak to us on Thursday. I'm grateful you came all the way from Modesto to give us so much of your time. You were the best outside speaker we've had come to Acton thus far. You did a good job of engaging us, telling your story without sounding boastful, giving us something we could actually use, and respecting us as peers. What I mean by the last one is that you assumed we already pretty far along our path as successful entrepreneurs, instead of talking down to us. (Some people come and give us advice like "you just gotta work hard" or, even worse, "ramp up your entrepreneurial synergy with a social network profit brand." Say what?) Also, your storytelling and speaking style is fun and captivating."
"The Marketplace of Ideas 2010 Event (Fargo, ND) truly was about connecting great ideas and great people. And yes, filled with what I call, "pinch me moments." Pinch me moments (PM2) are situations when I am amazed and cannot actually believe that "it's" happening to me. We've all at some point in our lives have experienced these - PM. Well, mine happened when the keynote speaker, Stephen Key, stopped by to talk with me about Messy Face. Stephen is a licensing expert and inventor - you'll most likely recognize him from the photograph. His questions were very specific and from our conversation he graciously shared a new strategic direction that I had not even thought of for the MFD invention. Seriously. This was a HUGE PM2! Simply priceless..."
– Debra Lindh
"Just wanted to let you know that I plug your radio show and other info to our readership. You and Andrew do a terrific job. I listened to the show about inventor orgs and agree with you. A few attendees speak with the guest speaker after the meeting, but most just leave. I agree that each meeting offers tidbits - not a complete picture of the invent-to-market process. Inventors have to keep coming to meetings to see the big picture. And it is important to like the people at a meeting so that networking occurs. We are trying to encourage more participation and education by inventors because they need a bigger view of the process. Inventors perceive their ideas as filling a need, but they don't see the big picture involving cash flow, distribution, manufacturing and so on. One of the biggest omissions is the business plan.
Also, I agree with what was said in your radio show about inventors fearing anyone who requires money for services. There is a multitude of free assistance in the way of information to help inventors. Many inventors are lazy when it comes to reading and comprehension. They are hands-on instead of mind-on! Since we have many audio-visual tools to educate them, you are wise to use them. I will do my part to tell the readership about the help you offer."
Inventors Society of South Florida
"This is personal note from me to say THANKS for an inspirational presentation at the Inventors Society of South Florida. While I have heard most of the things you discussed before in separate places, you packaged it succinctly and delivered it powerfully. I was IMPRESSED because you:
I am not easily impressed. I enjoyed your presentation very much!"
Inventors Society of South Florida
"Thank you for giving South Florida Inventors your attention, enthusiasm and great insights and information today. Your inspirational presentation was unlike any our group has experienced."
Inventors Society of South Florida
"I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation despite having heard the content before which says a great deal for your speaking ability. (I heard nothing but good feedback from others that I spoke with after the meeting as well.)"
Jaime, Austin, TX
"I am so happy I found you. Before I heard of you I spent years coming up with ideas and watching others bring them to market. I read a few books about inventing and just thought the process was overwhelming and expensive. I love your approach and appreciate your knowledge."
– Ann W.
"First, I want to say inventright has made a marked improvement over the past couple of months. You are truly a leader in the field and bringing vast amounts of pertinent information to the community. I was about to say “in particularly the new directory of companies looking for inventions” but there is nothing in particular to point out that is better then something else. It’s all good and getting better. Well Done!!!"
- Leo M.
I am a "student" of Mr. Key. I've been in the design business for over ten years and I thought I knew all I needed to know. My clients include Sony, Starbucks, L'Oreal, Ralph Lauren and many other big names. However, after taking Stephen's course I learned simple techniques that made all the difference.
With these new learnings I successfully navigated my way through a multi-million licensing deal and my largest one to date. You can view the product IP here: www.gridittechnology.com
Not only were the teachings immensely valuable, practical and timesaving but more importantly - they work. I'm now in a second deal that will hopefully be as lucrative as my first. I highly recommend Mr. Key's approach for all inventors and non-inventors.
- Dario Antonioni
I am not currently a student of Stephen's, but he kindly and quickly returned my phone call and was happy to speak with me regarding my new product ideas. He has since referred me to some of his contacts, and I am very grateful for his support and encouragement. His professional approach and commitment to helping others is commendable. Thank you Stephen.
– Maria R
What you and Andrew offer is life changing. The level of confidence and knowledge I've gained from an endless diet of your CD's and lectures have helped me to gain a whole new lease on life in general. I feel like I should pay YOU a royalty for the number of times I've regurgitated your lessons verbatim. Your inventright process has been the blueprint for many of my own lectures and motivational speeches.
I've enjoyed the best financial year I've ever experienced...ALL due to you, Andrew Krauss (the unsung hero), and the inventright process.
To date, the inventright CD set has been the best purchase of my professional career, bar none.
- Tony A.
Thanks again for YOUR support. What I've gained from you and Andrew is greater confidence, realistic expectations and how to inexpensively protect intellectual property - huge benefits!
- Dave B.
I believe Stephen is genuinely giving back to an industry that has treated him well and my experience with Stephen has been more then I would ever have expected when I bought the system – I believe I got much more then just some experience guidance from the inventright system, I’ve got a mentor in Stephen Key!
- Robert L.
I am very greatful for both you and Andrew. And I tell you, I always remember one thing that you said in a tele-seminar (sometime last year) "And when a company gives you a call back, give me a call...." I believed that you were really interested in my success, and wanted to know about it ! So I am going to hold you to that................ and I look forward to making that call !
- Dave D.
My name is Aphrodite and I am one of Stephen Key's students. I must say that as someone who was searching for advice and direction as to how to go about bringing my product from an idea to the market place, I have accomplished much more than I imagined.
I not only learned how to bring my product to the market place in a step by step process, but I also gained the confidence to do what I thought was next to impossible for the average 'Joe" like me. Through guidance and direction from both Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss, I was able to reach PRESIDENTS of companies giving me opportunities to present my ideas first hand to the top people. This has led me to not only move forward in my endeavor and dreams, but also it has given me a more open mind to continue to create more ideas and go after them as I never would have done prior to my experience with the Invent Right system I know now that because of this affordable available avenue that I took advantage of, I WILL one day be a successful inventor.
I just attended my first ‘in-person’ seminar with Stephen and Andrew. I got up at 4:30am to drive 2+ hours (and I got lost!) to attend. I was NOT dissapointed in any way- In fact, having bought Mr. Key’s program a few months ago, I have yet to fully utilize it (family issues). The first day I received it, I only read a few pages before I called the 800 # and personally told Andrew that he and Mr. Key’s weren’t asking enough for the program. After the seminar, I was even more impressed with Mr. Key’s and Andrew’s integrity. It was a delightful expierence sitting through the entire seminar. They didn’t make a penny more off of me. I did get even more valuable information and Mr. Key’s personal cell # (which I haven’t yet called). I think Mr. Key has a sincere and true calling and told him so.
- Angela M.
Saturday, I received yet ANOTHER royalty check, and I am a student who has used Mr. Key’s methods. I have definitely made money from my ideas and am well into the black. No, it isn’t millions yet but, because I took the time to be educated by Mr. Key, I now have the knowledge required to make money from my ideas and it’s up to me to utilize what I learned and turn it into more profits. Stephen Key provided me with an education that is worth so much more than the measly amount I paid for his course. He is a gifted educator and what I have learned as one of his students has changed my life and the way I approach business immensely.
- Linda P.
Your support via phone is great! and when I do come across the right idea… I’ll be ready to seize the opportunity. Thanks for making the path to inventing a little clearer for me Stephen and Andrew.
- Justin F.
Stephens advice has been practical, informative and useful. I’m licensing my get out of debt financial software to several companies and everything is moving forward. I used his principles that he taught me to get to where I am now. It’s hard work to get a product to market, His advice provided much needed help and advice.
- Abe D.
I own a successful training company in Belgium and so for professional purposes I have bought countless educational materials. But, few have impressed me as much as Mr. Key’s course, which is practical, full of relevant tips and worth it’s money in my opinion. My goal wasn’t to become an inventor, but Mr. Key’s course has enhanced my inventiveness for sure and I am sure my significant revenue increase (I doubled my revenue) in times of economical down-turn, is partly due to the inspiration I found in Mr. Key’s course.
- Sarah C.
Every time I call, I speak personally to Andrew or Stephen. I have scheduled phone appointments and have been surprised everytime with how much time they have spent with me. I believe that Stephen is teaching what he has actually done, and that he would help me personally during my own attempts. I feel that I now have real world information that will allow me to license my own ideas.
- Robert M.
I sent off for my first inventor submission packet when I was 11years old. Even at that age I knew how to spot a cock of hooey.
When a national retailer suggested that I license my invention to a manufacturer with a full product line I had to learn how. My search turned up Stephen Key. His advice sounded great! But, he was selling a course so I discredited it.
I engaged a manufacturer and got in way over my head. Desperate, I called Stephen Key who gave me irrefutably good advice. I realized not even my trusted patent attorney had given advice as profitable. It was that realization that made me purchase the course.
As a student (customer as you say) Stephen coached me through my first licensing deal. He helped me to see and walk away from a potentially bad deal and into the perfect deal. He gave me the confidence to stand my ground through conference calls with the CEO and CFO of a major manufacturer, something I desperately lacked. He helped me realize my life long dream of becoming a successful inventor.
Have I made millions? Not yet, but I have saved thousands. I got guaranteed royalties on my first deal thanks to Stephen so I’m in the black and the ink’s not even dry yet. I’m now embarking on another invention and I’m excited to do it the inventright way. More than that, I’m excited to work with Stephen again.
- Dennis V.
I have purchased the inventright course, and think it is one of the BEST investments I have ever made. The information in the first chapter is worth more than the cost of the course.
- Norm H.
I have spent thousands of dollars patenting and hiring marketing companies, and my wheels just kept right on spinning. Until one day I was HONORED to hear Mr. keys speak at the Minnesota Inventors Congress, man I thought he was great!! I called Stephen two times after that day to see if it was all talk or if I really meant anything to him. He returned one and Andrew returned the other call answering all the questions I had. I bought the Invent Right package and became a STUDENT, learning as much as I possibly could about how to bring an idea to the market place. I would recommend Invent Right to everybody. Money well spent!! THANKS STEPHEN AND ANDREW!!
I have been dealing with inventright for about three years now. I just called them up one say and start asking question about how to get a product to market. I spoke with Andrew Krauss at the time. Mr. Krauss answered my question although he knew I was not a student. Well, I figured he answered that question with no problem. So, I continued calling and asking question, and they would help me. I did this for almost a year before becoming a student of inventright. Neither Stephen or Andrew rejected me. They would always answer me with respect and kindness. That showed me a lot about inventright. It showed me inventright was a honest company with integrity. That;s why I became a student. I knew some things about marketing, but after becoming a student of Stephen and Andrew (inventright), I have companies viewing my products. A company is viewing a prototype of mine right now and considering licensing it. They have it on their sale’s floor for people to view. inventright is a program that works! You know that’s what God requires of ALL of us, HONESTY and INTEGRITY.
- Vesta A.
As a new inventright student, I paid for the service not only for the materials and online courses, but for the access to experienced inventors. The ability and luxury to call and have Stephen or Andrew pick up the phone directly over the course of the next year. There is no magic course or secret book that can make someone successful in this business, we gather information from a multitude of places and rely on our own desire, abilities, and advice–and for advice, among other cources, I have chosen Stephen and Andrew.
- Joseph K.
I made the purchase of Mr. Key’s CD’s. Mr. Key was gracious, friendly and honest. He allowed me to make monthly installments as I did not have he funds available to me at once. With an offer of a refund if I wasn’t fully satisfied.
I listened to the CD’s and was having trouble personally actualizing the process, at that time I was able to call and get advice from Mr. Key to improve my technique. However nearly simulataneously I was laid off from my job at Caterpillar and I realised the techniques didn’t meet well with my skill set. Mr. Key at that point refunded me my payment(s) without delay or hinderance. I am pleased with my treatment and am willing and eager to recommend him to anyone who is interedted in trying to get there thought to market.
- Javid A.
I purchased “Invent Right” from Stephen Key about a year ago and found it extremely valuable. My husband and I even had a telephone conference with Andrew which lasted about an hour. We learned alot about the process and the information we gained will stay with us for future ideas and inventions. I think they’re doing a great job with what they offer.
- Pam F.
I willingly paid the price of the course not only because of the information contained but the one-on-one help provided by Stephen and Andrew. That alone, from people who’ve successfully made money licensing products is worth ten times the price of the course.
I have a patent pending product that I am in the process of licensing and have purchased the inventright program to aid in that process. I have over fifteen years of sales experience in the medical diagnotics market but needed a quick education on the basics of how to structure a licensing agreement. My experience with the program and with the prompt and efficient support from both Andrew and Stephen has been very positive and productive. I have found both Andrew and Stephen to be very professional, knowledgeable and helpful. I am another satisfied customer.
- Suzanne S.
Stephen and his associate, Andrew Krauss are truly a couple of the “good guys” in this inventing business.
- Dan M.
I have been a student of Mr. Key’s for three months now, and have studied the material thoroughly. I was attracted to the idea of licensing my inventions since manufacturing myself would cost ten to one hundred times more money. I would not be able to bring my product to market. Steve and Andrew provide many people like me with the opportunity to get our ideas to the consumers. We need consumers to get excited about new products, so sales go up and the economy turns around. Compared to what it would cost me to bring my products to market, the money that Steve charges is a great alternative. Sure I can buy many how-to books for the price, but I would not get the personal coaching that Steve and Andrew provide.
- Renate M.
"If you have an idea...
and want to take it to market and don’t know how pick up the phone or get online and purchase Stephen Key’s inventright program, trust me you are getting more then the wealth of useful information from his program you actually get “the man” himself and his professional and customer service friendly staff. I’m as skeptical as the next person buying “How to” programs that promise you the moon – inventright makes good on all of its promises and then goes the extra mile.
The inventright program guided my co-inventors and me all the way through product development, patent pending and research on who to contact to bring our idea to market. Then we hit a wall and needed some advice. I hesitated calling, Stephen because I didn’t think his claim of “call me with any questions” was real – well it was very real. When I called Stephen and asked for his advice, his first words were, “Why did you take so long to call me?!”
Since then, Stephen and James his assistant have gone beyond the call of duty to help us and have been the consummate professionals. They have personally helped us navigate through a very large company and get to the right people to set our “product idea” in motion for licensing. Without the inventright system and more importantly, Stephen’s guidance from his years of experience, we would not be where we are today with our product.
My partners and I can’t thank Stephen and his team at inventright enough. Stephen offered us more then just good advice and opening doors – he mentored us. A mentor every inventor needs!"
Robert L. – inventor
"If you've ever considered inventing something for the marketplace, if your creativity leads you in this direction, then I strongly recommend that you seek the advice, coaching and mentorship from Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss of inventright. I was fortunate enough to be recommended to them by both a highly reputable patent attorney as well as the Sunnyvale Patent Library. The inventright system, along with their availability, their connections and their passionate enthusiasm to help you move ahead with your project…these guys rock! inventright is the real deal for all of you product developers out there. Stephen's successfully licensed dozens of products for the marketplace and has created a solid reputation for himself. He is one of the coolest mentors and guides that I've ever worked with. He will help you figure out the right strategy to get your product licensed with the right manufacturer. These guys will coach you through the process of ‘getting into the game!’ And it's not that tough to get into the game! They offer a great mix of encouragement and no b.s. advice, step by step. They work with you to get to the next step, including providing you with invaluable connections and the insight as to what to expect when you're there and what to do to keep progressing forward. They know this game, they’ve been through this and know how it works. You can tell when you talk to them! Running their program, I’m now more determined than ever to win and secure our first licensing agreement, then the next, then the next, then the next."
- Chris Wilson and the team at Skopis Product and Business Solutions.
"I consider Stephen Key to be the father of product development. He has developed a wealth of knowledge on bringing a product to market, and is eager to share his expertise with those who have a strong desire to learn. It is no surprise that Stephen is as successful as he is. I could never thank him enough for all that he has taught me. Stephen Key is a mentor to me and has consulted with me on all steps of licensing a product many times over. Each time I have called he has answered both my calls and my questions. I remember the first time I spoke with Stephen over a year ago following a teleseminar where he actually gave his number out. I was very hesitant to call but by the end of the day I grew enough courage to speak with The Stephen Key. He told me I was the only person who actually called in all day! I had so many questions and he patiently listened to them and then answered them all. I am 22 years old and I have learned more through Stephen's guidance and inventright program about patenting, licensing, selling and talking with upper level employees than I have my last four years at college or ever. At times it has been stressful, overwhelming and depressing this licensing game but with every returned email or call there is that indescribable rush of excitment of closing the deal. Frost said it best, "two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by and that has made all the difference." Thank you for all the encouragement and information Stephen."
"I recently purchased the invent right program and I highly recommend it. They have 1st hand experience and are eager to help. They are more helpful than I expected. Everyone one else I spoke with wants thousands of dollars upfront and a percent of any royalties. These guys are helpful, cheap and don't want future payments. If you have an idea, let them help. Mistakes will cost you in this industry. You can talk with them before you buy about anything. They are very accessable and will lay out the process very simply."
I purchased the inventright “10 Steps to Invention Success” program while attending one of our local Minnesota Inventors Networks training seminars about a year and a half ago. Stephen was the guest speaker for the day, and presenting his material for all who attended. His down to earth ability to communicate with the group made it a very enjoyable day of learning and networking. Stephen Key is the “Real Deal”
Since purchasing the program, I have had the privilege to talk with both Stephen and inventright co-founder Andrew Krauss about various projects and topics, and have found both of them very helpful and accessible. Stephen and the inventright Team is first class in my book. The inventright System is very helpful and easy to follow. I highly recommend both experienced and first time inventors purchase this program. If your interested in fast tracking your ideas, this is the product for you. This is an extremely helpful resource.
Go get it!
Money well spent from my perspective.
Inventing is a way of life for me, make it yours as well.
Successful Inventor and Entrepreneur
If there are others who have a bit of doubt as to whether or not they should use the system headed by Stephen Key then I would say go for it! The system will show you great ways to get your ideas for new consumer products to be evaluated and considered in the actual marketplace. Being a student under the inventright system will baby step you through to become confident to take the appropriate avenues to succeed with your idea, even if you are starting out without any experience at all.
Personally, I started this past July in 2008 and since then have made many submissions with the products and ideas that have been lingering around my head for years. The best thing is that it shows you how to go after these ideas without a great deal of financial risk because, let's face it; not everyone has the money to dip into financing new inventions with the high cost of patent searches and applications themselves.
You can even go on youtube and find some success stories from Stephen Key's method if you just type his name in.
I'll give you a good example of the aid that they offer:
I, like many others, have questions pertaining to the product that I am pursuing, so, I gave Stephen a call to ask him a few questions. Upon the first call, he was there ready to openly discuss and answer any question that I had about the product and how to go about it. We spent about a half an hour discussing different topics and aspects that I was unsure of. Not only that, but he also offered great personal insight to the design of the product itself, ideas about it that I hadn't thought of, techniques to further protect the product, and even sent over a list of companies with contact information for each company that fell into the category that my product is in.
How can you beat that?
inventright is interested in getting these ideas to spark and for their students to take charge and succeed with their products. They take a personal interest to anyone that is there with questions. I highly recommend them to anyone who thinks that they have a good idea.
Keep up the good work!
I have attended one of Stephen Key’s seminars and purchased the DREAM INVENT SUCCEED book and CD that covers the “10 Steps To Invention Success” I will tell you it was the BEST MONEY SPENT.
Product Developing, Inventing, Patenting, and Licensing, has been my life, and I have made $Millions …YOU CAN TOO!!!
Eugene (Gene) L.
I bought the inventright kit about a month ago, and I gotta tell you, I couldn't be happier. The cd's are very informative, a great starting point especially for the first-time inventor like myself, but the real value lies in the year of free phone calls you get for no extra charge. As Stephen walks you through the process on the CD's, if you're confused about anything at all, you can simply pick up the phone and call Stephen and Andrew.
...And that's another thing, you actually get Stephen and Andrew. The first time I called, I left a message and received a return call that same evening at 9:30 PM EST from Andrew, which turned into an extremely informative 20 minute conversation in which Andrew critiqued and helped me to improve my sell sheet, as well as giving me clear and concise directions as to what specifically I should do next. The second time I called I got Stephen himself.
Stephen and Andrew really take the fear out of the whole process, which seemed daunting, if not insurmountable before I bought the kit.
If I added up all the money I paid in commission splits to senior agents and greedy brokerages to learn the ins and outs of becoming a successful NYC real estate agent, my current job, it would easily reach into the tens of thousands of dollars, if not more.
For what Stephen and Andrew give you in value, not to mention the countless hours and money I would have almost certainly wasted fumbling my way blindly in the dark, flying by the seat of my pants, believe me...four hundred dollars is quite literally nothing.
Thank You Stephen and Andrew. You are truly doing a beautiful thing.
Let me tell you a story. In 1995 I invented my first product, I had it patented. Now I'm off the ground! WRONG! I sent the product to manufacturiers, I talked to president of companies, I even spoke to a few CEO's. One president of a major company said to me " If we make your product, what will we do with all those in our warehouse". You see, my product would elimate theirs. I was so hurt, I I put inventing down for a few years. In 2003, I decided to give it another shot. I invented two Christian board games, had them patented. I even developed one of the games in my home and sold to church members and family. I decided to call some game companies, and got rejected again. I left messages and no one returned my call. Disappointed again, I stop inventing. Well, in 2006, I invented a product for plastic bags. I wrote a letter to the president of the company. WOW! A guy from their engineering department called me and said they were interested in my product. I was excited, to excited. He said the company wanted to buy all rights, meaning my patent. Well, with no experience, I said OK. He asked me how much, and I said you make an offer. Well, he offered 10,000.00, I said nothing less than 25,000.00. He told me he had to speak to the president about that offer. He called me the next day and said they will only pay 20,000.00. I said OK, thinking I would lose out on the deal. I got SCREWED! To cut my story short (smile), here it is 2008 and I still have 4 patents on my wall. In September 2008, I listen to Stephen Key tapes, talking about sell sheets, and how to get your feet in the door. I never heard of a sell sheet. But, after listening to Stephen Key CD's I relized I was doing everything wrong. I started doing what Stephen Key said to do. I had some sell sheets make and founf companies that related to my product, and start calling. This time I ask to speak to marketing. I gave my one liner sell pitch. Believe it or not, I have 9 companies viewing my products right NOW! Stephen Key WORKS!
Although I haven't bought the course, I am hoping to win it one day! I am a member of the inventright forums, have listened to many excellent teleseminars, and did order the Patent Wizard software (for filing PPA's), and it is excellent! Stephen and Andrew know their stuff, and they are always available for any questions you might have.
I bought the inventright system and was pleasantly surprised at the simple, no-nonsense, approach to inventing. The advice is easy to follow and shows you how to get your ideas from your head to potential licensers for minimal cost. inventright already saved me a bundle by encouraging me to make my own prototypes as opposed to looking for expensive professional alternatives. But best of all is knowing that you can speak to the authors themselves -- I've spoken with both of them, and just being able to brainstorm for 20 - 30 minutes helped me immensely -- I can't wait to tell them about the changes I made based on their advice.
I searched for about six months to find a instruction book on how to get products to market. I did not find any that provided a step by step path to get products to market like the invent right system. The system just maps it out. Its like the yellow brick road, but the end is green not emerald. :)
I have two products in the market which I used the system, so I have been very happy with it. Even now I refer to it when I get to certain stages of a project.
I am in the program now and Stephen and Andrew are supporting me through negotiations with an international company on a global product release. I can't recomend them enough.
The program with its clear steps got me in the door after months of frustration trying it my way. This corperate maze can be so daunting, so to have an ally to call on is worth every penny spent.
Considering the hundreds of dollars per hour we can spend on patent attorneys etc. this program and its one year of phone support pays for itself almost the minute you sign up.
Good Luck with your invention!
After months of research and consideration, I finally took that step and just received the inventright System last week. I knew it would be a good investment, but I had no idea how extensive the information would be! In addition to getting the printed materials, you also get the audio CDs and the Resource CD. So whether you're a visual or an auditory learner, they've got you covered!
The initial cost might put some people off, but honestly, when you compare the initial investment with what a typical 4-year college costs, it's a drop in the bucket. Why compare the two? Because you're not only getting an education, you're getting direct access to a teacher and a mentor. And for me, that was the kicker. To know that I can read the information, put it into practice, and if I'm ever stuck or need further clarification, Andrew and Stephen are just a phone call or e-mail away.
So, yeah, I HIGHLY recommend using the inventright system if you're serious about taking your ideas and actually making money from them. Save yourself the heartache (and financial headache) of making your own way. Follow in the footsteps of a successful product developer and make your dreams a reality!
Mills Creative Minds
I am a currently student of the inventright system by Stephen Key.
I have been a hobby inventor since childhood (30 plus years now) and doing it professionally has been my life long dream. Only now do I have the resources and teachers that allow me to commercialize my inventions, and I'm doing it while living in Japan!
I have not yet commercialized my first invention, but I did get into about 15 ish companies with it.
Most declined , some said "not now", and that I was welcome to contact them again in the future with my current or other ideas. Two, I am still getting past the gatekeepers.
I have moved onto my second invention and will be approaching companies this or next week with it.
The inventright system WORKS. It's simple enough that I read it in one day, and understood most of it immediately.
It's a no B.S. system and it does teach you to get through to REAL people in REAL companies, I got into 2 or three companies the first day I tried.
The GOLD of the system is the support. I have phoned Andrew, repeatedly and Stephen once, every time they gave me the advice I needed to move to the next step, feedback or advice as to what to do in my specific situation.
I borrowed the money to buy this system and made a deal with my friend/lender to repay them with a royalty share or their original investment plus interest just to get it 3 months earlier than I otherwise could have. This was a great decision for both of us:-)
I will be renewing my call-in support membership with Stephen and Andrew in February whether I have a commercialized invention by then or not because I KNOW their advice can only make future invention commercialization's easier and more successful.
Understand that I am the kind of guy who either condemns a product for not delivering on their promise, or praises the few who do, I couldn't recommend this product or company highly enough.
If you get it, read it and TAKE ACTION on their advice, success is a matter of when and how determined you are not IF. I fully expect to be a full time professional inventor before the end of 2009 or sooner.
"I just wanted to take a minute and thank you (again) for all your help and support. I can't tell you enough how much I appreciate what you do.
It's so refreshing to be able to speak with someone who has been on the front line and still truly remembers what it was like to be starting out... with little money, growing debt, tight margins, but BIG ideas. Many successful people claim to remember those early days, yet still seem to insist on staking heavy claims in return for their help.
It's a rare thing to find someone like you who has been so successful, yet still willing to selflessly shed some light for a fellow traveler. That, to me, is what I truly consider "success" in life and that is exactly the kind of person I want to be. Thank you for inspiring me and letting me know that it is possible."
"First of all I just wanted to let you know that I am now an official inventright student and I can only say how pleased I am with all the information I am learning!
I know that this is probably covered in the inventright course, but I am just so happy with myself...for doing the PPA and making a contact...I called and spoke with them! It works! Ok, I confess I had kinda lost hope and had entered my product into a contest and when I got a Red X and then remembering what you told me and your comments about my product I realized that I had given the wrong people power over my most valuable asset...my creativity...NO More Contest! It takes too long anway!"
I discovered Stephen and Andrew through Tim Ferriss' website on the Four Hour Work Week.
My first reaction was excitement, then skepticism that their claims where true or possible.
After some careful consideration I decided to take the plunge , BUT I didn't have the cash at that time to even afford the course!! I had the choice of waiting another two or three months OR get creative, so I got creative, since inventing has been my lifelong dream.
I decided to email EVERYONE I had ever had email contact with and make them an offer, you pay for the course and get a share of the first royalty for a year, or I pay you back with simple interest plus principle, BUT I get up to 10 years to pay it.
The cost was small but I knew 2 things, one, I would commercialize a product within a year, and that I didn't want to even consider needing to pay it back during the process.
One wise and dear friend stepped up and emailed me telling me the course was on it's way to me in Japan!!
When I received it I read the whole thing in one day, and realized that the process and ideas where very simple anyone can do this, and certainly I could too.
I am writing this months after I received it, and I'm most of the way there, this week or next I will be calling U.S. manufacturers about my first of many products!!!
I have called Andrew many times and he was always positive and encouraging, yet still told me what I needed to hear, and when I needed to change something.
The process took me much longer than I expected, but I am located in Japan, and don't have a credit card both of which made arranging many simple transactions a major issue.
Just so you understand what this process means to me, I have been inventing my entire life, one day I was talking on the phone with my mother and said "Mom I remember trying to make a robot in grade 2, when do you first remember me taking apart toys to see how they worked, and trying to invent things?"
Her answer..."As far back as I can remember."
I had been fooled into believing you first had to get a patent (by "experts"), then proceed with becoming a success as an inventor, so I resolved I FIRST had to be rich to live out this dream.
Stephen and Andrew have showed me a real process, that really does work, and really is as simple as they say it is. Their support of my efforts has been as exceptional as their product. I am the sort of customer who is very demanding. I am the first to condemn any product that fails to deliver on it's promises and I enthusiastically endorse any product that actually delivers what it promises. The invent right course has exceeded my very high expectations as has Andrew who has given me sound and timely advice more times than I can count.
Thank you Stephen and Andrew you have redefined my life, and put me days from living a lifelong dream.
P.S. Some day when I'm rich because of my inventing I'd like to fly to California and take both of you to dinner :-)

"My name is Karen Hopkins. I'm a waitress, stay-at-home mom and now a product developer. The inventright system works. It worked for me and it can work for anyone. The system breaks each step into simple easy to follow directions. I was surprised by how much I learned during the whole process. Not only the knowledge that I've gained about the retail market place, but about myself and the confidence I've gained.
The stories and samples that Stephen shares are so helpful. Any time I had a question I just picked up the phone, and believe me I did call. Once, when I was doing my 1st patent search I got stuck so I called. The inventright guys are so nice, helpful and encouraging. They gave me some ideas to try and they worked. Along the entire product developing process I knew anytime I had any question all I had to do was pick up the phone. Stephen really walked me through the whole process. He really seems to enjoy passing his knowledge on and watching you succeed.
The inventright system is a GREAT tool with a wonderful support system. All you need to do is roll up your sleeves and take a chance.
Believe in your product and believe in yourself. Yes, you can!"
Good luck & Happy Inventing
P.S. Guess who just sent a sell sheet to a fortune 500 company? That would be ME!

"Though I didn"t purchase the "inventRight" Program Andrew told me about, I did come away with some very insightful new direction and information. He honestly evaluated my situation, gave me some appropriate tips, and directed me into the next areas to pursue. Thank you!"
I bought the inventright system and was pleasantly surprised at its
simplicity and common sense approach; it gave me utmost confidence that I,
too, can get at least some of the ideas I have in my head into the market
place. But the best part is having experts to talk to, both Stephen Key and
Andrew Krauss helped me immensely. It¹s nice to know I can pick up the phone and call them when I¹m uncertain about something.
I received my free phone call from Andrew Krauss last week before the
Holiday. He answered my questions and gave some more great advice. In a time of voice mail and other impersonal services it was really nice to talk with someone who cares and shares their knowledge. I look forward to buying the CD's as I know there will be even more value added information contained in them. Thank you.
After listening to Stephen Key CD'S about sell sheets and calling companies.
In October, I called, and now 9 companies are viewing my products. Thanks!
I recently spoke with Andrew Krauss (inventRight's Co-Founder), who took a lengthy time to speak about the course and answered some specific questions I had about my first patent application. I thanked him for providing such an excellent service and I really meant it.
If you are an inventor and overwhelmed by the process of inventing and marketing your idea, this is a great place to get the help you need."
As a marketing consultant for the past 15 years, I thought I knew it all. But I highly recommend (5 stars) this course to even some of you who think you know it all. I will be able to submit my products to large corporations with confidence now. Also, Andrew is like my personal invention consultant.
Honestly, I don't understand why he helps so much. But he does. And that's our gain. He is always there to answer questions and help me along the way. I don't see how I will be a successful inventor without him and Stephen."
New York, NY
"I just want to say thank you for being available to answer my many questions and providing guidance as I move through my journey to becoming a successful inventor.
The inventright home study course has given me a shot at bringing my invention from a vision to the marketplace in easy to follow steps. Not only has the home study course given me much needed guidance that really works, it has also given me the motivation and the wherewithal to contact potential licensees and to get results all within my financial means.
Thanks again, and I will let you know when I license my first invention, but guess what I am working on others in the meantime because of what I learned as an inventright student."
Deborah Monden, Fridley, MN
I came to inventright for a good stiff kick in the pants and I got it! I had been bogged down with one particular invention for 2 years and not been open to working on others. Had I not heeded your advice and submitted several ideas to various companies (since I had them) I'd STILL be waiting for my first product to pay off!"
Unlike some seminars, once you are there, you never feel like Stephen is trying to sell you something, or hype anything. He is simply sharing his wealth of experiences and leading you through the process. It definitely helped me to quickly get licensing opportunities rolling. Great stuff !!!"

"He (Stephen) makes a difficult process seem simple. From the lively discussion, it was apparent that the audience was completely engaged. Several participants commented on how much they learned from Stephen's presentation. One of the most wonderful aspects of the seminar was experiencing his genuine interest in sharing his success with other inventors."

"Again, congratulations and thanks for a great seminar. I think you were successful in jarring our thinking about what we are doing and inspiring us to go for greater achievement.
It seemed to me somewhat paradoxical that, while you were deflating our notions that our pet ideas are unique and marvelous, you were also inspiring us to be more prolific and to discover our power to make deals with the "big" guys.
What also struck me was your confidence and sincere desire that all your students learn. A true educator if I have ever seen one... More power to you as you continue exploring ways to enable this learning process."
"I wanted to write and thank you for imparting your knowledge this past weekend. It came at a very opportune time in my inventing career and taught me how to throw away some of the misconceptions I had acquired from other seminars and speakers. Your ability to keep the material interesting , is rare and should be applauded, and your real world experiences really cut through the BS and taught us how a creative mind can also be a profitable one."
"Stephen's willingness to share his background (both failures and successes) and his 10-step process helped us to learn to test the waters with our products before applying for full-blown patents. Additionally, following his advice on the one sentence description and the simple process of creating sell sheets won us prime time in sales meetings of some top manufacturers. But most of all, Stephen's continued guidance (post-seminar) as we negotiate a contract with one of the companies we have been courting has been invaluable. Sign up for an inventright seminar - you'll learn the "10 Easy Steps" to a more interesting, fulfilling life."

"After many years of working on our toy stilts trying different ideas to get our stilts perfected we became indecisive. During the past 4 years we have attended many, many seminars from Manteca, Santa Rosa, Foster City, and Santa Clara. We finally discovered the inventright seminars with Stephen Key and Andrew Krauss.
Stephen inspired us with the many past experiences that he had and gave us the mental tools that turned us around and set our thinking in the right direction. Stephen's positive attitude, inspiration and continuing help has given us the encouragement to contact the toy company's that could help us. We contacted the Wham-O toy and Razor toy companies.
We did make good contacts at both companies and both considered our stilts very carefully, but because of other commitments, they were unable to commit to any production until the 2006 time period. At this point we finally located a smaller independent toy company looking for a marketable toy product. The company has produced excellent prototypes that have improved our toy stilts.
My brother and I were invited to attend the New York Toy Fair and we were inspired by the many orders that were placed for our toy stilts. At this point production has begun and we are expecting a container of our toy stilts to be delivered from Hong Kong by the middle of summer.
At the inventright Holiday Party, this past Christmas Season, my brother and I met Stephens's wife and were very impressed with the help and hard work that she provided throughout the evening. Stephens's wife did work for the Gallo Family and us knowing the late Julio and Aileen Gallo and how hard they worked together reminds us how both families work together.
Stephen Key is the most informative, knowledgeable, inspiring, and helpful speaker and person that we have had the privilege to meet and know. Once again thank you Stephen Key for all your help and inspiration."
